Having never had a mochi doughnut I came into this experience with zero expectations. I got six different flavors and every single one was delicious. The texture is impossible to describe. It's like eating a super chewy doughnut, almost undercooked dough, or even doughnut flavored bubble gum. The prices were fair, 6 for $18. First time at this location! Love the flavor options and now able to buy less than 1/2 a dozen. I've been to others where you are only able to purchase1/2 or full dozen. Sometimes you just want less. I'd give this place 5 stars, but I have to take away 1 star for customer service. The workers were not friendly... no smile or greeting at the door... didn't seem interested in small talk... when I asked when the shop opened up... or when I complimented the shop for the flavors, etc. I just think she can work on customer service and interactions with customers. Yumm can't believe it took me so long to try mochinut when I live right next to one. The mochi donuts were so delicious with a chewy texture. 3 mochinuts for $9 the strawberry funnel cake was my favorite. We also got boba and the korean corn dogs. The corn dog with the potato on it was my favorite! The boba was really good too and not too sweet, the can was super cute. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I love that they have a 3, 6, or 12 pack option for the mochi donuts. Cerritos location has only 6 or 12 which gets expensive for a single person wanting to try donuts. The donuts I got were all amazing. Can never go wrong the oreo! However the corn dog I redeemed for the freebie during the first opening day was soooo greasy.... you can see the cheetos all soaked..... Also, for first day opening you would assume prices would be correct on the menu but make sure you check what you're charged! I had recently tried Mochinut while in San Diego and it was amazing. Step forward a few weeks and I finally come here. The location is reasonably small - as expected. I had a plan of ordering ~8 donuts for my work staff tomorrow. 12 was FAR too expensive and 6 wasn't enough. I asked how much each was individually - as if to buy 6 and add on 2 or so. I was told a resounding NO we do not sell donuts individually. I said, I'm sorry, I can't buy one all by itself and she said NOPE. This is a horrendous business model by any means. I was really excited to come to MochiNut. Arrived at 4:30PM on a Wednesday, their hours state that they close at 9PM. I was surprised and confused to see that their doors were locked even though they had an "Open" sign lit up. They didn't have a sign as to why they were closed. They were also not fully closed because when I looked inside, all the donuts were still out on display. There was also someone in the kitchen who wasn't picking up the phone calls as I was hoping to inquire about whether they were open. When I looked online for online ordering, it said that their online orders were closed until 6PM. I had seen some reviews about the lack of/rude management, but decided to try it out anyways.
