I was visiting Fayetteville and decided to pop in here for lunch. I think anything on the menu would be wonderful but I ordered the meatloaf (not your average meatloaf for sure). It was over a potato parsnip mash topped with mushroom gravy and crispy parsnip skins. Enough for 3 people so I have two more opportunities to eat it. Giving it a 4* because the location and the internal style isn't my favorite. They need to dim the lights and add some candles to add a little flair. But the food was wonderful. You can tell they buy local and support the locality of NWA. So, we are fans. We had the buffalo cauliflower and cheese curds. The cheese curds were AMAZING. The buffalo cauliflower was different but we really liked it. They flash-fry it so it's not greasy at all. For dinner, my fiancé had the beef stroganoff and it was to die for! I had the duck two ways and it was really good as well. Bordinos makes their duck two ways a better and is my favorite out of anyplace so far, but this was still really good! All-in-all, we would be more impressed if they would move to a different building and modernize the style :) read more

Tried this new restaurant out for lunch today and it was very good. They have some really good sandwiches. We had a Hot Chicken and a Mockingburger today. Both were great. I want to go back and try the roast beef, pear, and blue cheese sandwich and I want to try the roasted buffalo cauliflower appetizer also. This menu is going to be fun. It's just open for lunch right now but the chef said dinner is coming soon. It's going to be a regular for me. read more

This was one of the best lunches To be had in Fayetteville. To use just a few words to describe my first impression. Fresh. Selection. Comfort. Tasty. Local. We started out with the cheese dip trio appetizer. The pimento cheese dip was the overall favorite, but all three were enjoyable. Two of us selected the Grilled Cheese (also included pimento cheese, bacon and caramelized onions.) this was paired with the tomato soup that is a rich red, perfectly flavored and texturally pleasing. The other two in our party chose the Roast Beef Pear and Blue Cheese sandwich. They were both over the moon with this sandwich and I did sneak a bite and it was full of flavor and did not disappoint. We were all too full to try the dessert but we will be back! Give this local place a chance! read more

I had my sights set on another restaurant in the area, drive up, and they were closed. So then I saw this on Yelp and figured I'd give it a try. Very glad I did. :) I decided to try the blackened catfish on grits with tomato gravy. I typically don't order catfish because it tends to be a little fishy, however this was amazingly clean and fresh. The grits were made perfectly and the tomato gravy was a nice compliment. The restaurant was super clean and Ryan was an excellent waiter. I will most definitely come back again. Highly recommend. read more

We ordered meatballs, Cobb salad, meatloaf, and pork shoulder sandwich... And I can't wait to go back. I'm not a huge salad fan, but the Cobb Salad is unbelievable! The owner was beyond rude . She spoke to us like children , simply because one of our guests needed a chair . She began to raise her voice and say how many more of "your people are coming " . I generally don't like to bring race into situations, but it was racially motivated.She treated us like we deserved no respect . Something changed, the food is "okay" but it used to be impressive. I took a group here and actually was embarrassed that they would think I found this food so great? Quality has dropped, not the same. I recommended the shrimp cake app, and the sauce isn't as flavorful as it once was. My catfish filet was mushy? And my guest were "underwhelmed". Visited last weekend, and this place is truly a hidden gem. Tucked away in a shopping center, I wasn't sure what to expect. As soon as we walked in the environment was warm and friendly, the whole restaurant had a cozy vibe. Our waitress was AMAZING and so attentive to our needs she even brought out fruit for my ten month old to snack on! Everything we got was delicious! I got a hamburger, side of grits, and a bowl of sweet potato soup. It was all delicious... the soup was the highlight. It was savory yet sweet and tasted like fall in your mouth. Had another fabulous experience at Mockingbird Kitchen, we had not dined in for a year and half and it did not disappoint. Our server was friendly and funny. We started with the shrimp cakes, so tasty that we couldn't wait for them to cool before eating. My husband had the duck tacos and cleaned his plate. His sole critique was that he would ask for the spicy aioli on the side next time. I had the Ropa Vieja and it was as good as ever. The portion was huge and the flavor was so rich and incredible. We were too full for desert, but I had my eye on the creme brûlée. Thankful to Mockingbird Kitchen for a great dinner. read more

Good vegetarian options, good portions, and tasty. However, Chef is unwilling to accommodate and a bit snobby about her food. While I agree that a lot is tasty on the menu, there are better options in Fayettteville. Specials are just ok, esp pasta, and I was told the steak was average. I prefer Bordino's or Bocca for delicious local flavor and accommodating chefs. Brunch is great but won't go back for dinner again if I it's up to me! read more

I've been here since August. I've been to dinner here once but I've been to brunch nearly a dozen times. Easily my favorite brunch in Fayetteville. Fresh, local ingredients and far more flavoring/seasoning in the food. I adore all breakfast food and their sweet (pancakes, french toast) and savory items (eggs benedict, hashes, tacos, and chicken an waffles) have all been top-notch and the best I've tried in the area. The Duck Confit was amazing, the smoked portion was maybe the best duck I've ever tasted. I also enjoyed the dip trio, it was different and not what I was expecting but really good and make sure you try the infused lemonade it was a pleasant surprise. We came here for brunch and I absolutely LOVED my chicken & mashed potato meal. Our friends enjoyed their drink (I believe it was a blue or blackberry lemonade) as well as their meals (pics posted). I am just visiting Fayetteville for the weekend. Looked up "best breakfast/lunch restaurants in Fayetteville," and found high ratings for Mockingbird Kitchen. The high ratings are well deserved. I ending up having one of the lunch entrees - their very unique meatloaf dish. It was excellent, and I would highly recommend it. My server was Gabriella, and she was terrific!!!! I highly recommend this excellent restaurant for breakfast or lunch -- (don't know if it is open for dinner). It is so reasonably priced, you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying Mockingbird Kitchen. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. read more
