This was our first time eating here. The meatballs, cheese curds and kale salad were excellent. We had the fried chicken which was amazing. The fish and grits was not. The fish was so over spiced it was hard to eat. The shrimp tacos also were very bland. The pimento burger was good but impossible to eat as a burger. It was so juicy and saucy the bun got super soggy and fell apart. The sage maple whiskey sour and the grapefruit gin drink was really really good. The cocktails would be much better if they used better ice that did not melt and water down the drink. The service was okay, not great. We would come back again. read more

Love this place! The vibe is great, location and parking are easy to access. The food is amazing. This is a chef owned restaurant and it shows. Each dish is carefully designed to provide an experience and the chef's sincerity is in every bite. Carefully prepared, the food is fresh, healthy and well presented. I find the menu choices to be creative and inspired. I love how the menu changes seasonally as well as flows with the chef's inspirations. Very good restaurant. Clean and good service in a strip mall. I like their small menu with interesting choices. My duck two ways was served over mashed sweet potatoes and kale. The duck was salty so I'm assuming it was brined or smoked first. Very good, worth a try. read more

Loved the food at this restaurant. My husband ordered the meatloaf which was a generous portion with an unexpected flavor that I couldn't place. It was served with real, substantial mashed potatoes. It was the best meatloaf I have ever tasted! Although I am not vegan, I got the tofu scramble for a healthy dish and it was amazing. Again, unexpected flavor that was delicious. The wait was worth a while, the server said the wait was an hour but it only took 20-25 mins which isn't that bad. I'm also vegan and me and my girlfriend loved our food. S/o to the server that was wearing a black dress with a tattoo on her upper chest she was really nice. Loved the white folks out there they show plenty of love. This little nest is snuggled up in a shopping center and can be easily overlooked if you don't know where to look. (Look for Arcadia and its next door) Wait Staff is very pleasant and friendly. The ambiance is very nice and easy going. When we showed up there was 4 tables of older ladies having their brunch. Just to give you an idea of the atmosphere. The food is very 'organic'. Great use of Fresh ingredients and perfect presentation. The food was very tasty. I really can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu. This is Fayetteville in a restaurant! Mockingbird really cares about the food they serve and it shows! Localvore galore! Very attentive, and polite service, creative drinks and delicious food! Laid back atmosphere that's great for lunch or dinner! Haven't tried their brunch yet but plan to. I've been three times between March and May 2017, and I have zero complaints about any of the visits. Most recently we went as part of a group of 11 for a celebratory dinner. We made reservations, our table was ready when we arrived, our server was awesome, and everyone loved their dishes. Couldn't have gone better! We'll be frequenting Mockingbird! read more

What we ate & what we thought of it: Pancakes - good, would eat again Sausage - horrible, awful, inedible Bacon - just ok Breakfast tacos - mostly edible but not good by any stretch Eggs Benedict - barely just ok. Personable staff makes the food taste even better! I have been there for brunch and dinner.. neither fell short of being the best meal I've had in NWA. This place killed it for me last night. I love how they put birds on things! But seriously the wait staff was top notch, very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server set a great example for how all servers should be. The food was amazing and tasted very clean. I particularly enjoyed the beet salad and turkey sandwich. I was recommended by two people to get the pie. I was very full and almost did not get it, but I am very glad I did. It was probably the best pie I ever had. The prices here are a little high just to warn you, but the food, people, and atmosphere balance it out. read more

I came here after hearing good things about the food and all the rave reviews on Yelp, but i did not leave with a good taste in my mouth. First off, we were greeted promptly at the door with a friendly smile, but our server took 10 minutes to order our drinks. We order two margaritas, the apple butter one (which was great!) and a house one... maybe? It was awful. It tasted like very heavy syrup... and the consistency of the drink was too thick. We then ordered a kale ceaser that came out oversalted. We barely ate it. We mentioned to our server that it was too salty to eat. She said she will pass along the message to the kitchen. Then for entrees, my boyfriend got the vegetarian burger (it tasted awful--he took two bites), my kid got the burger (and she enjoyed it), and i got the fried catfish with tomato sauce (the fish was bland, the tomato remoulade with the fish was just not... good. I don't know how else to explain it. The combination of the two together made it taste awful. Again, we took a few bites but couldn't finish it. The server came and took it away and didn't say anything after we told her we didn't really enjoy it, and we're ready for our check. She gave us our bill and we paid and left. I would love to say i would like to go back to try different menu items, but our service was lacking and fell a bit short. I felt like she should've informed a manager that a guest was not satisfied with their food and brought it to their attention. We were not rude by any means, and we just felt like the situation could've been handled better. Anyway, with that said, i'm super disappointed our first visit turned out so poorly. read more

The prices reflect the quality of the food. Good quality food, great staff, great service, clean facilities. This little cafe is located in a strip center but don't let that scare you away. While the brunch menu was limited, everything we had was excellent.
