Group of 7, had the squirrel latte, fantastic! Pumpkin bar was really good for the fall weather! We ordered 3 for the table and they were all gone. The banana nut bread got mixed reviews mainly because I make a really good one! French vanilla latte and chai latte was so cute and very tasty. Overall satisfied with this stop and glad we came here before heading out. Very cute little coffee shop on the island. Very indie and aesthetic. There is a nice outdoor eating section that's shaded and beautiful with vines on a pergola. They take precautions due to Covid and have plexiglass in front of the cashier when you order. I've had 3 different coffees there and they all taste great. Their coffee is not strong and often has quite a bit of cream- especially the specialty coffees. So if you're looking for "real ass coffee" then maybe ask about what you think is best for you or play it safe by ordering a "regular"- black coffee. The employees are always nice and accommodating. I know some people get overwhelmed at coffee shops with the "lingo" but they're patient and don't mind answering questions. :) read more

My kind of coffeehouse. Great atmosphere with an earthy, authentic feel. It's two stories; the upstairs being a lounge spot and the downstairs is spacious with plenty of tables. Great selection of coffee. I had the cortado with a banana bread. It was thick, and the foam was masterfully decorated. The cashier and barista were very nice and commendable as they answered my annoying coffee questions. The outside is amazing. The tables are right next to the street. Only thing is that you might spot the occasional half-naked homeless man walking by as you work and check emails (best to avoid eye contact). All in all, it's an excellent spot worthy of indulging yourself while in a caffeinated state. read more

Very cool, unique spot. I like the creativity with their menu. Surprised how long the line was as we arrived but the staff was able to work down the line quickly. This is probably my most favorite coffee shop in Galveston. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy coming in after we photograph the Marine Corps Ball every year. The staff members are always great help and most importantly, your coffee and tea selections hit the spot! We also enjoy the artist corner every couple years or so. Local artists come in for an event and have some of the patrons come and enjoy the fun. We will definitely be back and thank you again for creating a space for coffee and conversation!! read more

Love mod! Their outside patio was host to the very first date my husband and I went on so I guess they hold a special place in my heart. Their coffee is always delicious and I don't think you can go wrong with any latte you choose. Their London fog tea and their smoothies using the green Japanese Cherry tea are some of my favorites. Now that they have online ordering I don't think I'll ever go to Starbucks again. Only thing I wish they would have more of is parking spaces! Had my first Mod Experience last week. Ordered a bunch of goodies to take to meetings with clients. The goodies were great but had a slight glitch when I got where we were going because a few items were missing which we were charged for. To make the situation better the Manager, Hanna -went above and beyond to take care of us! I'll be back ~ the Zucchini bread was AMAZING...Coffee was good-had some creative offerings! Great downtown coffee shop feel. They've been here for 14 yrs and you can see why. Has outdoor, indoor and bar seating throughout the building. There is a separate space that just has seating and tables, which is a great place to just chill without feeling rushed to get out. The menu is really diverse but also has staple coffee choices. I was literally the only customer in the the shop and the gentleman behind the counter acted like he was put out when I asked some questions about coffee beans. The actual barista also was unfriendly when I asked her a question. I love how this place is so well integrated into the heart of downtown Galveston. The art display on the walls is always changing and is such a great way to promote local artists. The coffee never disappoints. All the options on their menu are good, but I especially love the honey latte. Their pastries are delicious as well. And their hummus!! The fridge is always stocked with fresh hummus and pita bread--the perfect snack. The baristas are always friendly! My only complaints are that it can be a bit loud and the wifi is slow. The atmosphere is very inviting and has a pretty nice and quiet place to study. I ousted the iced raspberry latte. I didn't much care for it and think I should have ordered it hot. Overall my favorite coffee shop. I'm here almost every week and my favorite is the "Just Trust Me." Don't order if you don't like coconut, but it's amazing! Their hummus is some of the best I've had, and their t-shirts are super comfy. I love the vibe here, both indoor and outdoor. I was refused service because my face covering wasn't a "Standard mask" it was material wrapped around my nose and mouth. Why is this any different than a cloth mask or a scarf? It's all the same if It's covering the mouth and nose. CDC guidelines suggest face covering but this barista didn't think my material wrapped around my nose and mouth was good enough.
