Roasted: found this place in historic Galveston and it's a super cute coffee shop. Love the decor and it has plenty of seating. Has a nice outdoor seating as well. Large menu with speciality drinks, homemade bakery items and sugar free options as well. Very friendly across the board - both the cashier and barista were friendly, greeted us, smiled and thanked us. Asked us if we wanted to stay here or to go and gave us our coffee in a for here mug. Latte was quite tasty - no latte art and a tad too much syrup for me but otherwise it was great. Espresso and milk were both right on. It's been a while since I've really enjoyed a latte! I would definitely recommend this place next time you are in Galveston. Unroasted: great coffee shop in historic downtown Galveston. Plenty of parking and they have two store front with lot options to sit down. Love the section with comfy couches and coffee tables. The barista was friendly and said hello as we approached the Register. Glad they carried skim and sf options. They also asked if it was for here so she offered mugs. Waited few mins and got a good looking latte with the attempt of art. It nice to get some decent art. The foam is perfect on my latte. I did notice it was a bit too much at flavoring. Decided to drop this shop after many recs from the locals. It did not disappoint. Great service and great coffee Loved the indoor ambiance and especially the covered outdoor seating I had an iced chai tea latte and hubby had moddy toddy. Yum! We ended up swinging back by after lunch for a strawberry lemonade, it was delish and refreshing. Will definitely be visiting again. read more

Oh my goodness! What an absolutely beautiful little coffee shop! What attracted us to this place was the outdoor seating; it was plentiful, it was green, and it was pure insta-worthy if you're into all that! We decided to hop into this place while we waited for the next door antique store to open up. I got the Hotty Totty iced coffee, or something like that, and a slice of pumpkin bread and a banana nut bread. The iced coffee was good, but it did feel like there was way more ice than there was coffee. Good thing that was my second iced coffee of the day, if not I wouldn't be happy. The bread was also good, but the banana but bread was not as banana-ey and nutty as I am used to eating, on the other hand I did like the pumpkin bread! Also, I would like to mention to the staff that the area where the half & half sat, was pretty dirt and I felt a little uncomfortable setting my drink down. If y'all could pop in there and wipe it down on ocasión, that would be nice. When all was said and done though, I'd definitely come back and try some more stuff and be specific to me light on the ice. read more

We stopped in to get some coffee and it was a fun, funky environment. My son got the hummingbird (coffee with lavender, coconut and something else) it was DELICIOUS! My daughter got the Honey Bee which had vanilla and honey in it. The coffee was smoothe, not bitter, but still strong. We also tried the survival bar which blew our socks off! read more

Wifey loves coffee and loves MOD coffeehouse. Watch for long lines because everyone wants coffee snacks from here. Had the iced lattes and were great. Great staff. I've been to MOD a few times, and I've tried a new flavor each time hoping for a nice surprise. Unfortunately, no matter what flavor I tried, they all tasted the same. There was no variation. All of their drinks have too much ice. I will say their survivor bar was a nice treat! They also have a pumpkin bar to match the current fall season. Overall, I think MOD has some good snacks to try, but the coffee isn't anything special in my opinion. read more

My husband and I are always on the hunt for a good local coffee house to break away from chains like Starbucks! So we make it our mission any time we vacay or go out of town. We stumbled upon this quaint little coffee house near The strand. The outside was super cute. Great place to hang out with some friends of just read a book while drinking your coffee/tea. We came at an unfortunate time because as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the staff only to be told that they had a busted water pipe and were limited on drink items. They were so apologetic. But we still wanted to support and try them out. My husband had the caramel dream cold brew and I had an iced chai latte. My husband's drink was perfection! Mine, not so much. I am giving this place a 5 star due to the great atmosphere, nice staff, and my honeys drink. I will definitely give this place another try! Always a favorite when we come to Galveston. Unfortunately the ambiance is definitely gone away since COVID-19. The upstairs game room is roped off and the seating is very limited, but they're doing the best they can. We just grabbed to go lattes and they were great! I like this place because I'm getting my coffee from a local. However, it's more expensive then Starbucks and you get very, very little. (For the same price of the tall you get at MOD, you can get a Venti at SB.) They have fun flavors that can sometimes be hit or miss, I still haven't gotten the courage to get a mystery drink. So go here because it's good and local, but if you need more then a tall drink, there are other places. In the meantime, the small shop seems to always be busy. Every table full of students and people working. Getting a table should be timed just right if you want to sit. read more

We stopped at this very cute coffee shop after dinner on a Wednesday night. Not too busy. Fast and friendly service. Great specialty coffee drinks to try. The best part was the sidewalk seating in the heart of the art district in this old fashioned yet very trendy part of Galveston. This seems to be the go-to place for all the locals and tourists alike. They have a cozy little upstairs area if you want a little more intimate setting, a more quiet study area on the side for all of you guys working on your great American novels (or just homework), an outdoor area for when the weather isn't terrible and you want to feel European, and a regular area. So essentially, all the seating possibilities are covered for your seating needs. I just had Earl Grey Tea which was Republic of Tea - a decent brand but it wasn't full leaf tea that I've come to expect at other places. Still good, but not full leaf good. They do seem to have some specialty drinks exclusive to them. I heard they have Oregon Chai Lattes which is a solid brand. They also don't have a kitchen so it's more of a traditional coffee house than a cafe. It kind of reminded me of the old Diedrich's Coffee in Houston like 15 years ago. Parking: They don't have a parking lot of their own so you're at the mercy of the street parking. Just pay attention to the signs because some streets have free 2 hour parking while others require you to use your phone to pay. If you don't have a phone or the connection isn't good, then you're SOL. Not totally their fault but it does play a role in my future decision making. read more

After living on the island for the last three years, I have to say that MOD coffeehouse has become one of my favorite coffee shops and go to study spaces. Their internet has gotten better and I no longer have issues watching videos or taking zoom calls here. Their London Fog is also one of the best on the island! Ordering that, along with their assortment of desserts and savory foods, really keeps me pushing through long study days during exam week. I also have to add that this place is also comfortable to sit in. Often times, coffeeshops are set WAY too cold to the point where I have to bring a blanket to stop me from freezing my butt off. This place also provides options to sit outside as well, which I really love on beautiful days. Overall, I really recommend checking this place out! read more

Accommodating and friendly - this is the spot for special coffee drinks on the island. Their rewards program has helped this college student out a ton, they always answer my questions on ingredients, and I appreciate their commitment to bringing fresh coffee every time. My personal recommendation is the Grasshopper MOD Freeze, but their Housemade soda is a refreshing, non-coffee drink I would back as well (I love vanilla in mine!). Really cute coffee shop. Lots of fun specialty drinks and a menu full of fun treats. Reasonably priced too. We got the holly and the gonzo. Gonzo had a lot of flavor descriptions but sadly just came out tasting like pure milk with a splash of coffee. The holly was decent. No gluten free treats but a lot of desserts desserts. read more

We found this gem while visiting Galveston. There is a wonderful shaded patio out in front of the shop, but it was full so we sat inside. There is a nice, calm ambience inside MOD and although there were many people coming and going our visit was very relaxing. The drink menu is extensive and there are several different baked treats in a case as well. Husband ordered a cold brew coffee and I ordered the bottomless iced tea. There was a flavored green tea (cherry something) and a regular black tea for me to choose from. The iced tea was self-serve so I had a glass of each and they were really good. I asked if the crispy treats were GF and the server was very knowledgeable about the kitchen they were prepared in which I really appreciated. We really enjoyed our visit to MOD and will definitely be back on our next trip to Galveston! read more

This place is so good that on our vacation we made the 15 minute trek here every single day. Their coffee combos are unique (praline and marshmallow? Lavender and raspberry?) and absolutely delicious. We tried different ones each day and couldn't find fault with any of them. If you want a snack, that have weird combos for kolache-like pastries too. The Good Morning Sunshine was a pineapple upside down pastry that we split and then automatically regretted because it was so good we wanted more. The inside is cozy, but the outdoor seating is where it's at. They have tons of red tables under a giant awning covered with gorgeous ivy. I'd sit out here and work and never have a care in the world. (It's also great for people watching!) Their coffee cups for sale ($12) day "for the love of community and coffee" on the back so we picked some up so we could bring a little magic from this coffeehouse home with us. read more
