It's been several years since my last review, but we have certainly been here a several dozen times since then. The cauliflower crust continues to be a favorite with my gluten-sensitive wife and the quality is still top notch. The price, though high, is justifiable because of the ingredients you can add. Have you ever tried ordering a custom pizza with more than 5 ingredients... easily over $25 for something like that elsewhere. The staff is hit-or-miss, sometimes bright and friendly, but often times moody and quiet, almost as if I'm a bother. Placed my order online, thought it would be 15 minutes, I show up and I have to wait another 45 minutes. Once I got the pizzas, my girlfriend's mini pizza was trash. It was barely a pizza, the crust was comparable to matza, there was a sprinkle of cheese, and overloaded with sauce. There were three pieces of chicken and a bunch of crumbs, and the pizza wasn't even a pizza at that point. There were 2 workers on the job, and there were more 15 people in the store, either waiting for orders or waiting to place an order. For fast serve, this is a tasty menu However, the service at the location is poor and you will wait a long time. For take out plan to spend 20-25 minutes waiting to get service. New pizza place in town. This was our second visit (first mobile order via the app). Personal sized thin crust pizza that's floppy like NY style. We like the Mad Dog for all the meat. You can add on any toppings. Their salads are pricey and not very good. We tried the salad with chicken and salami. On the small side with bitter tasting mixed greens. The mobile app works well. MOD Pizza has been in are area for a while now and I'm just now experiencing how delicious their handcrafted pizza's can be. Their menu has fun pizza's with a number of different crusts, toppings and drizzles. If you have your own interesting concoction in mind, you can create your own pizza. We opted for a few of their classics. When ordering, be sure to look at their menu carefully. In our case, my mom ordered a pizza without a sauce, because she expected it would be on there, but the list of ingrediants didn't mention it, so that was our bad! And don't be afraid to go outside your comfort zone and experiment with a new taste! The pizza's were really tasty and I'd 100% go back. They're small individual pizza's, so keep that in mine when ordering. Next time I go, I hope to try one with their cauliflower crust. Their curbside delivery was smooth and flawless. In minutes of pulling up, we had our pizzas. The parking lot is a bit narrow, but all those Randall road strip mall islands seem to have parking like that. Overall, I would go back in a heartbeat. My latest visit to this location proved to be terribly problematic. Firstly, something went wrong during the actual cooking process of my pizza. The staff had to remake my pizza three separate times. Then, between the second and third pizza rounds, they also stopped to literally scrub my melted and burned pizza out of the oven. It took a fair amount of time just to clean the oven before my (third) pizza could even be made. Unbeknownst to me, my companion's pizza was ready and plated (rapidly cooling off) the whole time we waited on mine (for the third time). The employees did not agree to make her a new pizza. Thus, when I finally got my own pizza - after the very extended wait period - we realized that we had essentially also purchased cold pizza. At no time did the staff members apologize for the wait, offer to even provide a free drink or otherwise acknowledge the massive inconvenience (and a cold pizza). Secondly, there was a charging error during the payment process. The register glitched, paused and then processed a payment without my approval that was $12 more than my order. The employees then argued that the added amount was a tip. Eventually, when I would not agree to be overcharged, they called an outside person to assist in my refund (and resulting second charge), but this process was absolutely not smooth either. I am still waiting to know if the credit went through successfully. In addition to these issues, I was terribly disappointed to see that staff members were not keeping their hair up and away from the food. The person assembling my pizza had perhaps waist long hair. The hair was "tied," but then pulled to the front, meaning hair was literally left to dangle above and around my food. The employees were also not wearing gloves when they plated, cut and served the pizza. They moved from the cash register to pizza finishing tasks without gloves. Finally, there was a tick on the outside dining table when we sat down. It was perhaps the final straw for me. We did not finish our pizzas and we will not return to this location. The entire experience was truly quite awful. I would never normally have agreed to pay anything for the meal in question, but I did not believe the staff could/would understand my complaints. Given their reactions to the initial overcharging and their unresponsiveness to the chaotic cooking process, I had no faith in their ability to refund my payment. read more

First time so not sure 5 stars is applicable as that is earned. First, let me say that this is excellent pizza and it is fast! When you enter you need to either start simple or with a basic pie and then you can build on that. So it is unlimited toppings, I had the Mad Dog (sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and ground beef). I added on mushrooms, red onion, green pepper, basil, and roasted garlic. The crust has a NY flavor to it, it is chewy, but it is crispy. I was so impressed that with all my toppings the crust was still crispy. I wish you could order a side salad vs. a big dinner salad. I didn't have great expectations but social media has been kind. I expected a mediocre pizza. I did the create your own. A 6" mini is 6.47 and an 11" is 8.47. Then you add whatever you want. I went with spicy calabrian chili sauce, mozz, ricotta, bacon, Canadian bacon and spicy chicken sausage, fresh garlic. You can add finishing sauces. My first visit was a week ago and I was happy to be in the mood for pizza. After the Pie five closed up the road, I was hesitant to try MOD. Same concept. Pick a crust, choose your toppings. I am a true lover of good pizza. I got my favorite toppings and ordered the cheesy bread to share with the family of four. Son and Daughter got the mini MOD, Hubby and I got the regular. There were plenty of options for toppings, and my pizza looked delicious. On Tuesdays they have $2.00 DRAFT beer. I accidentally got a bottled beer, and when ordering the dessert, ordered another bottled assuming I was partaking in the deal. Unfortunately, I wasn't corrected and my receipt showed about $4.00 per bottle. (Which I wouldn't have had a second, if I would have had some clarification) But, I won't complain, Pizza and Cold Beer makes me quite happy. A teenager would be fine with the regular MOD sized pizza. Kids keep to the mini MOD. Two chocolate desserts are plenty to share after the pizza.(We ordered 3 but half was waiting to be found in my trunk a couple days later) Next time I would like to try the double dough option. New to the area, this place definitely had a fresh new look to it. I frequent the Kildeer one, and enjoy the layout of this location. The space is very open and lots of sitting options vs Kildeer, which mainly has a line of seating options, with a long bar table top. What I didn't understand was the difference in price. This location is almost, if not, a dollar more that the Kildeer location. Unless they too raised their price, but I was just there mid October. They were also a bit stingy on ingredients. I had to tell the chic serving me to add more cheese to my kids pizza 4xs. Pizza is supposed to be covered in cheese, not just sprinkled on the pizza. Ratio should be more cheese to sauce, especially since I'm not adding anything else on. The same stinginess on the Dillion James that I ordered, but I add on extra ingredients to make up for it. Hopefully they make it in the area, since my kids love this place. Another pizza place that was down on Randall, with the same concept didn't last very long a few years ago, so fingers crossed read more

Heard Mod Pizza just came to Algonquin and had to try! My son is a vegan so when we heard they had dairy free cheese he was excited! It's so hard to find in the suburbs. All 11 inch pizzas are the same price no matter how many toppings you choose! That was a high plus! They have a variety of dipping sauces for the pizza and I got a little cake that was by the register that tasted like a Hostess ding dong. They also have been in cans, bottles and on tap. The food is definitely delicious. My group had a variety of pizzas and everyone said they were good. The caesar salad was also very good with just the right amount of dressing, unlike Buona which drowns the lettuce. With that said, it was VERY expensive ($40 for 2 people) considering they were VERY skimpy with their ingredients. Not one worker who made the food had hairnets on, either. Although there are fewer types of pizza at Buona, go there instead. The atmosphere is similar, the portions are the same, the food is also delicious, and you'll spend half as much money. read more

online ordered at 5:50. said it would be ready at 6:11. after around 30 minutes we asked the workers where our pizza was and he said they just put it in the oven. waited another 30 minutes, then we finally asked if they had our order. they did and it was sitting on the rack. by the time we got it, it was cold and smooshed. there was also sauce on the bottom of one of the boxes and grease on another. we only ordered 3 pizzas and one salad. should not have taken an hour and staff should have told us when our order was ready. they were pretty backed up so we stayed patient but after a while we couldn't take it anymore. most likely not coming back! read more

Great food, great atmosphere, awesome music, and a fantastic time for the whole family. Whatever your taste, or your flavor, with the create your own pizza option, the sky is the limit. They have options from 6" up to 11" and then 11" double dough for the seriously hungry folks. They also have a gluten free option as well. The restaurant was clean, which it should be since it just opened. The bathroom was clean, but had a weird smell, almost like sewer gas to it. I let the manager know and he looked at it immediately. The drinks are coco cola but they have beer and wine as well. Seating is multimodal. Small tables, low tops, high tops, circle tables to accommodate 7 people. Really sad because the pizza was good, but can't go back to a restaurant that has really uninterested employees. I get people work because they have to and not because they want to, but if you are still getting paid I would think you could at least hide the disinterest a bit. Great menu selection for the pizza lover! It can be a bit overwhelming the first visit- recommend you study the menu ahead of time or grab a menu when you first arrive to avoid being a 'gaper' and holding up the line if it is busy. The food quality is just, well ok. Nothing impressive that would make me want to not order a pizza from another restaurant. Pizza sauce is also unappealing but again just ok. Although you can custom order the toppings they seem to be very skimpy on the portion of toppings- after all the pizzas' are a bit pricey when this is considered. Salads are decent and have two choices of either romaine or spring mix greens and of course all the toppings. Atmosphere is urban rustic and a nice change for the area. I liked that they offered to-go boxes if needed near the fountain drinks (no need to bother anyone). My biggest complaint was the miscommunication of my pizza order- I specifically could not eat one of the ingredients on a pizza and they interpreted it as I wanted extra! Luckily the ingredient was easily removed and I kept my epipen unused for another day. My other concern is that the salad I specifically needed in a to-go container was put in one near the register; a few leaves of lettuce fell out and they scraped them off the counter into the salad- I was speechless.
