Lots of toppings and sauces and reasonably priced for a single serving of pizza that will fill you up. however, the crust is lacking in both flavor and texture and feels like you're just eating a cracker - I love thin pizza but this is too thin and quite bland. I must say, the staff in concord are awesome, attentive and provide easy to follow instructions for even the most novice of customers like us. Of all the Chipotle style pizza joints around, MOD by far is my favorite! This one is a very welcome addition to the Veranda shopping center. The employees at this location have always been very friendly, and quite generous with those already unlimited toppings. Service is great, food is yummy! The issues with this place are more to do with location - the Veranda shopping center is so jam packed with businesses, the massive parking lot is still a bit of a nightmare. If you're already parked and are willing to walk around a bit, it's a non-issue. But especially during meal times and weekends, don't expect to get a nearby parking space. Another frustration is every single time I've been in this location, they are blasting the AC - dead of winter, heat of summer, it don't matter. It's nice in the summer to take your pizza and sit outside, but in the winter you're almost guaranteed to be colder inside, and your food most definitely doesn't stay warm. Major HVAC design flaw. The food is wonderful though for a quick personalized bite, it's definitely enough to keep me coming back. Ordered my first pizza from mod pizza and it wasn't bad. I got the Mod 11" pizza and did my own toppings. It's nice cuz you can either do your own toppings or pick a pre made pizza. They also offer salads. Took 10 min to get my pizza ready and it was pretty good. Great location at the veranda, you can enjoy a nice stroll or catch the movies. Brought the kids to go ice skating but the line was massive so we popped into Mod Pizza for a bite while we waited for the crowd to die down. My kids always opt for the "plain Jane" cheese pizza and I always get a pizza salad with tons of veggie fixings and go for pesto sauce in place of dressing. Everything is so fresh at $9 a piece or $7 for a mini, you're bound to find something for everyone. I'm a girl that loves her options so Mod is a fav. They have a couple new menu items since my last visit. Cheesy garlic strips and a sweet treat in cinnamon dippers with chocolate, cinnamon glaze, and strawberry sauce. Have eaten at several Mod pizza restaurants around the bay and this one is the best. Great location. Love the shopping center and location to freeway. The interior is clean, and always well stocked. Being that it's still fairly new the staff are still learning the ropes. But this just means they will do whatever it takes to please the customer. Other chain pizza places just don't have the service. Pizza always fresh and choosing my own toppings makes it an excellent location to eat at any time of the day. It was so uncomfortably cold, I said to my husband as we waited in a slow lineup, I don't think I can I stand this cold and were about to leave but then we spotted a patio outside. It was a cool and breezy day out but it was a whole lot better than sitting inside. The patio wasn't the nicest. It seemed more like an afterthought. The interior is nice enough, but not a whole lot of atmosphere and it ain't built for comfort. Hard wooden benches and seats but it is a fast food joint after all, and as we all know, they don't want you to linger too long. Now to the food. It was pretty darn good and it's great value for your money. We split an 11 inch that was eight dollars and a bit and it was perfect for the two of us. Toppings were generous and I was surprised that it's the same price no matter how many toppings you add. Amazing! They even split the pizza into two different topping combos for us. I wouldn't mind giving it another go but please turn down the AC. I'm just glad I didn't run in to the skinny guy with the beanie who has become renowned for his rudeness in the majority of the reviews. Maybe he froze to death. read more

Well I order a mini pizza. for the sauce I get olive oil and garlic rub. then order spinach, they then put two or three leaves on it for me. then a little basil. then we move over to the big stuff .....mushrooms! they usually drop a couple mushrooms on it for me then a little pineapple to sweeten the deal. they drop a couple pieces of pineapple on it for me and then I get some red peppers with non-dairy cheese and then they cook it! put some balsamic vinegar on it for me and it makes a nice little snack. Of all the fast casual pizza chains, MOD is the best choice. However I would steer clear of this location. The employees are a little disengaged. The speed of service is slow. They were missing some of the toppings on the line. I had to wait more than 5 minutes for basil. How long does it take to cut some basil? Just bring me the whole leaf. The pizza was overcooked on the bottom (I forgot to save that picture). The tomatoes were not even close to ripe. Super disappointed. What did I learn today? I hate to leave a bad review at a place I've previously had good service, but after this weekend I'm so disappointed and feel others should know. During Covid-19 I expect all food establishments to be extra diligent with hand-washing, gloves and general safety when handling food. I understand they were very busy due to numerous door dash, online, phone orders etc, but there were also in person customers that were waiting extended periods of time to be served. Part of this was the fact that an employee walked out mid shift while I was in the restaurant leaving only 2 employees. One to make the pizzas and one to work the register, oven and everything else. Unfortunately I did not know this information until I was waiting over 30 minutes for my pizzas and observing what was happening. Had I known from the start I would have left. At some point the business needs to decide to either put a pause on door dash and online orders and help the in person customers first or lock the doors and do only to go business when they do not have staff to accommodate both. Now the disgusting part that caused me to toss my pizzas out without eating them. The guy making pizzas had gloves on while scooping toppings on the pizzas. However when he ran out of crusts, he took his gloves off, did NOT wash his hands and started using his hands to scoop up the balls of dough and put them in the machine to flatten them into crusts and loading the trays of dough into the stand. They were so backed up on getting pizzas into the oven they were lining up pizzas on the back counters waiting to get them into the oven. The gal at the register (I think her name was Cassie), was friendly and trying her best to keep up, but completely not adhering to food handling safety. She was NOT wearing gloves and was ringing people up at the register, handling cash then WITHOUT washing her hands, touching all the dough of the pizzas as she transferred them from the counter into the oven. At that point I knew we were not going to eat our pizzas and unfortunately had already paid and saw them go into the oven. I should have spoke up and alerted her to the problem, asked for a refund or done something instead of just watch in surprise that I was really seeing the handling of food this way. Regardless of COVID, no restaurant employee should be handling cash and then touching food directly after. I get we are in stressful times, they were understaffed and overwhelmed but MOD needs to make customer safety a top priority and give these employees better training, direction etc on how to handle situations like this. I definitely will not be returning. read more

This was my first time coming here. I placed an order online that said it's be ready for pickup at 7:01 pm. I showed up at 7:08 and 3 of the 4 pizzas I ordered were ready. 15 mins later I'm still waiting for my 4th pizza. I go to the counter to check internet order and it still hadn't been made yet. After 20+ minutes of waiting I finally get my last item and head home. When I get home, the cheese and olive pizza I ordered for my vegetarian daughter was made wrong and had pepperoni and sausage on it. I wasn't even trying to drive back to get another one. I've been to other Mod Pizza locations and this one isn't the same. Crusts are thinner and way too crispy/overcooked, and this location needs to not skimp on ingredients... They're all placed in the middle of the pizza, making the outer crust barren and crunchy - in a not-so-good way. They left out one of the five ingredients on the pizza we ordered (the pre-made ones), which I didn't notice until we got home and had a dry, mediocre pizza. The second pizza was decent, but all of the ingredients were again in the middle, making it less enjoyable. The crusts were also burned on both. More pride, better employee hygiene, and go heavier on the toppings and I may come back. Otherwise, there are plenty of other fast pizza options in the area. read more

MOD Pizza in the Veranda Center in Concord is a great choice. I strolled into the location and the employees were super friendly and ready to make my pizza. If you have never been to a MOD Pizza, you pick the sauce, toppings, cheeses, vege's, etc. It's kind of a Pizza Buffet, where they make and bake it, but you tell them what and how much of each topping. BTW, their salads are pretty good also, they mix them up in a massive stainless steel bowl, and then package it for you. Back to the pizza. If you are trying to go low carb or are allergic to gluten, I have to say that the Cauliflower Crust Pizza is about the best I've ever had. It is moist, can get a nice crisp to it, and doesn't at all taste like a substitute for the real deal. I often prefer it, even though I don't have a gluten issue. They finish your pie in the oven for about 5-7 minutes and then take it out for post oven toppings like Pesto Sauce, Fresh Tomatoes, Hot Sauce, and many others. Look, this isn't your best "authentic Italian" New York Style or Chicago Style Pizza, but for a quick place that is under 10 bucks, you can't beat it. Their Lemonades are excellent as well. I visited this restaurant and was shocked by the preparation of the pizza, the taste was terrible, the chicken smelled of soap, the dough was very thin, it was difficult to cut with a knife, the cheese had a spoiled taste. I watched the staff as they prepared the pizza, and I was very indignant, there is no sanitation, they don't change gloves, they wash the table with a rag, and then with these gloves they start putting the toppings on the pizza for the visitor. I do not recommend this establishment for eating, you can get poisoned in the body and it is impossible to eat this pizza, it tastes terrible. Its place is in the trash can. read more

When the cashier asked me how my day was going, I honestly told her, "It's been a long day and I have a headache." I was blown away at what happened next. This place is much like Pieology or Blaze pizza. You can direct the staff behind the counter to make your pizza to your liking choosing from a variety of sauces and toppings. I do like that they offer a small pizza for $6.50. Regular sized is $8.50. They also have dessert in the form of sweetened pizza strips with a variety of dipping sauces like chocolate and Carmel. The dining room is spacious, although FREEZING!! Bring a sweater is you tend to get cold. They do have outdoor seating available. read more

This is the worst MOD I've been to. 3/4 of the workers here today had this irritated vibes and horrible customer service. The pizzas.... All the meat and veggies were raw/undercooked and the base was burnt. The heat was turned to 575+ so that they can shoot the pizzas out. But the pizzas weren't good. Not a fan. The pizza we got had chicken, garlic cloves, and a few other toppings...but it just tasted pretty bland. The chicken was tasteless, and the garlic was barely cooked so you had these huge cloves of raw garlic which I had to pick off the pizza. I also knocked a star off because of the interaction I saw from the table next to us. A family ordered two pizza's, and when they got them, the outer edges were completely burnt to a crisp. Not just a little burned, but totally black charcoal. When they went to ask for a new one, the employees gave them a big hassle, saying that was how it was like because of the oven used, or how they could just eat around the crust and the rest of the pizza was still good. They ended up remaking only 1 of the 2 pizzas, as the other one was a little bit less burnt. That's some bullshit. The first pizza of my order (total of 4) was done being cooked before the last pizza in my order went in to the oven. They need to seriously reevaluate their staffing levels and duties. Prioritize the people standing there, staring at you, wondering why it's taking so long! This time I got the cauliflower crust. It was pretty good, but remember oven guy, with his one job? Definitely over cooked my pizza. Outer crust was inedible. Still really like this place and will be back. Hope service improves though. This is one of our favorite places (since they opened, actually) for either eat-in or take-out. These days, it's all online ordering and curbside service for us. Pizza comes out right on time. I would give it a "5" except that it's not always consistent these days, with ordering online. Sometimes it's perfect and other times it's not-so-perfect (in other words --- minimal products on top or not evenly scattered and very thin sauce). We always order the "make-your-own-pizza" --- not one on their menu. When ordering inside, we make sure we get the right amount of chosen ingredients. When ordering online, it's hard to control so some have been skimpy. Also, in house, all pizzas have been perfectly cooked and crispy (our favorite). Online, most of them have been soggy, so needing to be baked more at home prior to eating. Generally, we mostly enjoy every pizza we've gotten there, including ones for special occasions like Superbowl. read more
