Made a note to stop by after a very thorough Yelp search. The slices of pizzas look amazing and I enjoy New York style since it's the absolute perfect ratio for topping lovers. I was originally planning to have pizza dinner on a Friday night but was already in downtown Walnut Creek. Decided to stop in. Upon entry all of the staff, from the chefs to the gentleman behind the counter were in good moods. Definitely a great sign of the good that was to come. The person who helped me with my order (sorry I didn't get your name) was super cool. Ended up leaving with three slices of pizza. Now if you know dtwc, you know there are countless options for pizzas and Italian food. I would still urge you to try panCoast. Great vibes with a small business feel. The pizza is amazing and almost equally as good as pizza you can get on the east coast. Like it says in the name, this is a good substitute to get east coast style pizza if you can't go to the east coast or if you'd like to try any on the west coast. The garlic knots are also delicious as well and the service is really good too. The staff are all very nice and the ambiance has good decorations and a comfortable setting. While the prices are a bit high, it still is worth checking this place out for the pizza and other items. But for sure the pizza is the best in California. read more

A little pizza joint in WC that seems to fly under the radar. Seems like a IYKYK type of place. The staff is very friendly and the pizza is delicious. The pizza dough is the perfect texture and the crust is so good!! You can order pizza whole or by the slice. We did 1 North End pizza and a few slices of cheese and Margherita for the kiddos. There isn't a ton of seating, so next time, we'll probably order for pick up, but I'm glad we finally checked it out. read more

I would rate this place a 5 star--I've been going for years and it's amazing. However, more recently I've noticed the quality slowly decline. I don't know if it's because different cooks and staff or what. Not that it's bad pizza or anything just compared to how it used to be.. I don't know. My doctor wanted to test me for my reaction to gluten. Can do! I said. I stopped into panCoast pizza and ordered a pepperoni slice to-go. It took less than a minute to heat and they gave it to me in a personal pan-pizza sized box. The service was friendly and prompt and they had 3-4 styles to choose from for the single slices. They also have student discounts and quite a bit of inside seating (though no seating outside). I headed out and found a sunny spot to sit in, took a bite and adored my slice! I tend to love thin New York style pizza and this was perfectly done with just the right amount of cheese, pepperoni, and crunch. It was mouthwatering and absolutely delicious. It has been a couple of months since I have visited last - so I am not too sure what to make of this. My brother and I frequented this place after seeing it featured on All A's with Brodie Brazil. They never disappointed. Food was all good on our visits. But I visited tonight and found out they close at 8PM now? Unreal. They don't accept cash for payment. Real bummer. It also seems as if the menu shrank a bit. Have I stepped into the twilight zone? I would have given it 2 stars, but it was kind of on me since I strolled in before they closed. I've passed by this place a few times and finally had the chance to try it. They have a M-F student special for $5 and there's also a Kaiser combo too! Service was great here and they were very nice and gave some recs too. The inside is comfy and cozy and gives an old school vibe. Great for families and a lot of locals. There is a parking lot outside along with street parking. I came in a weekday night and was able to get parking immediately. I tried quite a few things and loved them all. The thick cheese pizza my grandma loved. I tried their arugula salad it was very well made. The garlic knots were the perfect texture. The wings had heat and a kick paired perfectly went their dipping sauce. I tried their combo pizza 12 inch and it was plenty to share! I ordered a dozen wings, fried to perfection--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. For the pizza, I went with an 18-inch, half Ben Franklin and half Meatzazola. The amount of meat on such a thin crust was impressive! A sprinkle of red pepper flakes made it even better. I also love that they serve local sodas from Oakland. My go-to mix? Wife saw the place driving by and was curious but we got disappointed. Monday , 3:10pm store is empty - we decided for 2 slices and some garlic nots. The pizza came with the nots but no sauce to dip- waitress said she brings it, also the salad we ordered as part of the meal. The pizza had been sitting on the shelf for some time already, came Luke warm and saggy. The "meat" pizza slice had so little meat it could have passed for plain with Peperoni sample... Stopped by to grab some pizza with my family on a recent trip to The Bay. As a native New Yorker, this is one of the best NY style pizzas I have had outside of NYC. Let's start out with the inside. It seems somewhat small, but still big enough to seat a few groups of people. They have tv's on which they seen to show sports games (when we went in MLB was on). I felt like there was a faint strange odor. The service was decent. They bring the food over to the table. The seats are kind of strange, in my opinion. They had forgotten our cups for the drinks but quickly remedied the situation when I asked about it. The drinks weren't anything to rave about. The Caesar salad had some type of citrus on it which was different. The pizza itself was average as was the price for everything. I ended up buying a chocolate chip cookie which I learned is made in-house. I shared it with my daughter later, but was not a fan, personally. Last night I bought two 18" pizzas that were thin as paper, very little cheese and toppings for $85.00!!!! The boxes weighed more than the pizzas! This is the first restaurant I've seen in the bay carry Alameda Point locally batched craft soda! All made with came sugar we went through and tried each one and just the soda alone is enough of a reason to come back. They don't just have soda but beer on tap, too! For food our first order was a cheesesteak and it came to us so fresh there was still stream coming from the meat But we can't forget the stars of the show, the Meatzazola and the White Cap pizza! The Meatzazola was a delicious garlic and meat filled pizza that you will not be able to stop eating it's so addicting. Had the urge for pizza and wanted to support this Lamorinda-based pizzeria. Greeted by cashier and the kitchen staff. Ordered a combo, margherita, wings, cheesesteak, salad, and garlic knots. We ordered a draft beer and also some Alameda Point craft sodas. Let me start by saying that the garlic knots are awesome- they're also a Yelp check-in special. The pizza was thin crust style and really good. The wings were nice and chewy with buffalo sauce, Cheesesteak was good too. The Caesar salad had a good dressing but was a little hard to eat since the romaine was cut small and we had plastic utensils... hard to stab lol. Walnut Creek has its fair share of delicious restaurants as well as fast casual spots to choose from. But it doesn't have a whole lot of pizza places, especially when you're in the mood for just a single "slice" of pizza. With that said and done, this takes me to "panCoast pizza" which focuses on their New York-styled pizzas. Located directly on S. Main St. and parallel to Highway 680 on the south part of Walnut Creek, this place has been serving their piping hot east coast pizzas dating back to 2012. What makes this place great is that the owner Bob Pancoast is originally from the Philadelphia/New Jersey area which means he brings a lot of his ideas out west. I ended up coming here during the evening of Sunday 9/5/2021 at around 8:30pm. Even though this was 30 minutes before closing time, they still had a very generous amount of customers ordering for dine-in and to-go. Since I live out of town, I decided to dine outside and take advantage of the warm late summer evening. The inside of this place is rather small but still allowed indoor seating as well as TV's, a self-serve fountain drink station, and a single restroom. After looking over the menu, I ended up going with a slice of their sausage, olives, red onions, and cheese while my +1 went with a slice of their pepperoni with jalapeños. Prices here for the slices are fairly reasonable as you can get a fairly generous slice in between the $5-7 range. In addition to the slices, they also make whole pizza pies as well as hoagies, salads, and strombolis. They also carry a fairly decent amount of craft beers on tap. Considering it was quite busy on a Sunday evening, my pizza still only took about 5 minutes until it was ready. Overall, this definitely has a nice unique New York taste to it with the crust being thin while still packing in a ton of flavor. The only real downfall is that since this pizza was sitting under a hot oven for quite some time, it didn't have that 100% fresh out of the oven taste. If I could critique one thing about this place and that is to not have that cracker crust taste to it. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed my slice from start to finish. But it was still flavorful, filling, didn't have a whole lot of grease while it was generous with the toppings. The outside area was also well lit and spacious; perfect for those comfortable Bay Area evenings. All in all, "panCoast pizza" is definitely one of the better mom-and-pop pizza joints. They have fairly generous hours being opened Sunday through Thursday from 11am-9pm and Friday-Saturday from 11:30am-10pm. Decent prices, a very large assortment of specialty pizzas to satisfy all taste buds, and above average customer service. My rating, an above average four stars. read more
