Great place for extremely customizable pizzas! For one price ($7.47 for 11"), you can choose as many toppings you want. They have 4 types of sauce, 5 types of cheese, 9 types of meat (Italian sausage can be mild or spicy), 14 types of veggies, and 3 different types of spices. Ingredients looked fresh and tasted great. You can really MOD the perfect pizza and can get the best bang for the buck. The crust came out crispy and partially charred which is a good thing. It also stilled had a slight chewy dough texture too so it's not like a cracker. On mine I chose: Red Sauce, Mozzarella, Feta, Italian Sausage, Crumbled Meatballs, Grilled Chicken, Canadian Bacon, Artichokes, Olives, Roasted Red Peppers, Red Onions, Mushrooms, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, and Chopped Basil. (That's 15 different add-on ingredients). The pizza was made quick so our lunch break wasn't too long. There may have been too much on my pizza because some ingredients didn't go well with others, so next time I'll have to change it up. Sometimes having more choices can lead to bad decisions so choose wisely! We also tried the dessert pizza which tasted just like a pillsbury toaster strudel. I came here expecting a modern pizza joint with great service and value. The value was there certainly, but the service was underwhelming. They forgot to make my chocolate milkshake. I had to go up to the counter after nearly finishing my pizza 15 mins later to ask if I could have it already. So you come in and order as you move through the line and inform the staff what you want on your pizza or salad, pay up front, find your own seat, and wait for your name to be called whenever your order is ready. Best. Pizza. In. Houston. I cannot describe it any better than that. The toppings, the crusts, the sauce, just everything. Found this place trying to head to fuzzys tacos (which was a complete bust, don't go there). Ended up there and it's a pretty small restaurant and doesn't have a great seating flow, but it works. As far as ordering, they have a wall of recommendations for you to choose from. But imagine it like subway. All the toppings are there so you can literally build your own pizza. Or add to one of their recommendations. Which is nice. Because no one likes blue cheese. Or you shouldn't like it, it's mold. Gross. I digressed. Back to the pies. Their crusts are thin and crispy. They do have a gluten free option that I have to have, thanks genetics, but it's still very good. They offer salads but I can't say I've ever had the urge to get one at a pizza place, but they do look good. Just not for me when there is pizza. And should be noted, they sadly don't have a sod salad option. You have to buy a salad which is the same price as a pie. So yeah won't be having the salad there. They have some beer on tap, but again gluten so I haven't tried the local brew there. But they do have milkshakes. And they are awesome. Past the weird seating options, and kinda expensive gluten free pizzas they are an amazing pizza shop. Again they have the best pizza in Houston. That is my humble opinion. It was my first time here, and the customer service was great. Since they knew it was my first time, they took the time and explained everything well and efficiently. I got the Tristan pizza which was okay. There was too much pesto for me which made it salty, but they add it at the end so you can ask for less. My boyfriend got the jasper with spinach, and it was great! Although, I would not recommend the garlic strips because it is just the pizza crust with garlic sauce and cheese on top. Meh. The concept of build your own, even on a small 6", pizza is a good one, and great for only $5.27 with tax. But I was disappointed with the thin crust pizza that came out soggy, missing a chunk off the side (with some of the toppings) and it didn't taste as good as it could have due to the bad flavor of the chopped garlic that they buy jarred and probably with preservatives. It would make a huge difference in quality if only they would chop up fresh garlic, get a better quality Parmesan cheese and brush the crust first with olive oil before adding the red sauce and toppings so it would seal the crust from the sauce soaking in and making it soggy. On the positive side, they do have fresh basil, lots of veggies and ricotta cheese that I like, among many other choices as toppings. And their workers all had a great attitude. I was considering also getting a side ceasar salad that is also $5.27, so I asked to taste their Ceasar dressing and boxed croutons which they nicely did in a sample soufflé cup. But again, I was disappointed in the taste of their ceasar dressing. The croutons aren't bad for boxed, as they at least don't taste like the obviously gmo, preservative-laden, inedible type that many restaurants use. It's a pet peeve of mine that more restaurants don't make their own croutons! Especially those that are already making fresh bread, pizza crust and/or have leftover fresh bread supplied from a good source. It's so easy to chop up bread into cubes and toast it with or without herbs and olive oil or butter! I usually love mod pizza because it tastes good and you can customize it! This location usually is pretty good as well. However, yesterday I decided to order online and pick up curbside given these challenging times lately. Additionally, I gave a larger tip because I know the restaurant business is suffering right now. I got there, gave them a call telling them I've arrived and was told it wasn't ready yet. So I waited in my car and they finally gave it to me 5-10 mins later than the estimated time which is not an issue. But when I got home and opened the box, it was not the right order. On the box, it had my name on the receipt with the right ingredients so I know I didn't mess up the order online but it did not match the pizza that I got at all. It was way off. I understand that times are tough now for restaurants so I try to support them but please understand that it's also scary for anyone to venture out right now so I did not want to drive back and get the right order....please make sure that your customers get the right order. read more

I am at the hospital with my mom and ordered curbside from this location. Placed the order at 1:25pm and they stated it would be ready at 1:43pm. At 1:33pm I got a call stating they were out of one of the ingredients I requested in one of my pizza, I told them no problem make it without. I asked to tell me what was the order pick up time, she repeated it would be a few more minutes, I asked her again to give me the order pick up time, she then told me she would refund me for the order. And went to the register and processed the refund... while I stated that I did not need a free anything, I wanted her to answer my question, she replied with I can also give you another free pizza..... really? Is that the Customer service that MOD teaches managers now a days? If a Customer complains, throw money and pizza at them, dont find out what happened or why, dont try to listen to the Customer.... best solution is to refund the money and give them more free pizza!! I've come here a few times with mostly 5 star worthy visits but enough 3 star visits to bump it down to an overall 4 star location (consistency matters, right?) The sauces and toppings have always been great. I love how they have toppings that chain locations and even hole in the walls don't. My favorite topping - artichokes - I can almost never find at a pizza joint. The crust, when executed correctly, is delicious. Crunchy enough to not have the sauce and topping flavors penetrate but soft enough to bite into with feeling like you're eating nachos. A few times I've gotten crust that's soggy, which is why they were docked a star. The price is definitely higher than getting a large pizza and splitting it, but for my family of four with very different taste preferences, it's worth it to get a personal pizza we actually like. read more

This place has really gone down in customer service and quality. In general I love Mod pizza and have been going since they came to Houston. But the last two times I've been at this location the customer service sucks. Today I had a girl who didn't even smile when she took my order. She looked like she didn't want to be there. I ordered a Calexico and she didn't seem to know what was on it. She also decided it was okay to give me a few pieces of chicken because they ran low, and I had to ask for more and waited for them to restock the chicken. Just walked out, opened the box to check and this one had meat so I realized it wasn't mine. I go back to the counter to return and she SHOUTS on me. Literally shouting - 'I ASKED YOU!!!!". MY MISTAKE - I agree I should have not have said yes. But you have a PROCESS - LOOK AT THE NAME AND CALL THAT OUT! Dont randomly show a pizza and ask people if it is theirs! So it doesnt end! They begin a new one. We wait at the counter. She keeps one pizza on the shelf, doesnt call out the name, and hands out 5 pizzas after that. 10 minutes later, looks at me, calls out name (thankfully) and hands me that pizza she had kept aside!
