I used to love getting pizza at MOD. I would treat myself about once a month. At some point in the last couple of years I visited less frequently as the pizza didn't seem as great, and staff weren't as friendly. It felt like it was an inconvenience to make a pizza with toppings just thrown on. Tonight I thought I would give it another try and now I know this will be my last visit here. The pizza is soggy, undercooked, the majority of all the toppings landed in the middle for some reason. it didn't look like this before going in the oven, and the taste is meh. I had to redistribute the toppings when I got home. I hope this restaurant can get back to the way it was. If I try it again it will be the Nanaimo location. I won't be back to Langford. It's just not worth it, please do better. read more

MOD pizza used to make the best pizza in Colwood/Langford. The crust was thin but puffy, delicious and slightly chewy. The staff were friendly and pleasant. However in the last six months or so I have had at least three very disappointing pizzas. Every one was overcooked such that the crust had fallen flat and was dry and hard. I noticed it the first time and told the pizza maker that it looked overcooked but did not get an apology or offer to remake it. The next pizza was also overcooked but not too bad so I let it go. Yesterday however it was really bad and unacceptable. Again there was no response when I told the woman that it was overcooked. I have not seen any of the original staff in the restaurant since the pizzas started deteriorating. I wonder if there has been a change in management? The restaurant seems to have fewer customers than before as well. Perhaps the new staff did not get the proper training in how to make a fantastic pizza from the previous staff, or they are trying new techniques, but I can no longer recommend their product. The prices have gone up considerably too. I'm very sad. Time to find a different pizza joint. read more

The Mod pizza in Langford was first the time we have eaten at this chain. The staff were super friendly and hilarious. Happy employees tend to produce the best product! We have since eaten at 4 locations and although this is their only location in Canada it has been the best one we've been to. Their concept of topping selection, fixed prices, etc is wonderful. Zero stars. On Dec 3 at 5:15 PM I placed an online order for 5 adults and a kids meal came to just under $110. Was told to pick up at 5:45 PM. Arrived with my SIL around 5:55 PM. The place was busy and we waited only to find out there was NO ORDER under my name. The payment cleared but no order. The staff were not able to find it or able to refund me at that time. I left without my meals or my money. Despite speaking to the owner twice about a refund, it had never appeared. Was supposed to be at Belmont location and no one could find it. Was supposed to expressed posted to me during the weeks of Dec 11 to 22. Never arrived. Very disappointed. Never again. read more

I went in to order a couple of pizzas but as I was standing there waiting I saw a number of flies walking on the different toppings behind the counter, the front door was propped open and it was a hot da. I'm sure this was a big reason why there was an abundance of flies around the prepping area and walking on the toppings. I sent an email to their customer service about it but never got a response. Two weeks later I drove into the parking lot and to my surprise the front doors were still propped open. I won't be buying any more pizzas at MOD pizza, too bad because they had a nice gluten free pizza for those with celiac disease. read more

Pay the extra and get the thicker crust option. It's not very thick, unfortunately, but it's better than the default. I love that this place offers corn and broccoli, and their spicy marinara is a big winner for me. The entire staff is friendly and they have a nice selection of finishing sauces as well. MOD pizza stands for made on demand. That really says it all. You line up and then choose your base layer of sauce. Tip: the initial slathering of sauce is rather meager - and on a very thin crust. Go for the double thick crust for 2 bucks more, and at the very least, ask for extra sauce, or even better, mix and match, like do two sauces one each side - or whatever you like. The various stations for meats, vegetables, cheeses, etc., aren't labelled so familiarity with all the options helps, or ask lots of questions. Hard to do if there's an inpatient lineup behind you. We went when it wasn't too busy so we could take the time to make healthy choices and ask lots of questions. Staff kinda doesn't tell you much if you don't advocate for yourself, so ask. It's a production line. Individually the components themselves weren't too flavourful so you need to layer in flavours. The pizza is fired at around 800 degrees but it isn't piping hot when it comes out so I was slightly disappointed but it's not a deal breaker. Any hotter and the thinner crusts certainly would go cardboardy burnt-crisp anyway. The free refills at the self serve fountain if you paid, are a plus with a good variety of choices. The deserts are rather simple and I'd pass and head over to get some brownies at the grocery store myself. Parking is plentiful. Usually. Seating is fairy spacious with more room on the patio. Staff were pretty friendly and the manager certainly seemed like they would go out of their way to make you happy. Our family went because some of us desired healthy options. If you want thick, greasy pizza covered in cheeses that string from plate to mouth, with lots of nitrates, go anywhere else. I do get a craving for old school occasionally. Do give MOD pizza a try sometime. It's rare to have a pizza made with unlimited components that you choose. The outer limits are yours to control! read more

Pizza is good! Can pick as many toppings as you'd like for one price. A little hard knowing what each toppings are due to no signs. I didn't know they had lactose free cheese till after I build my pizza. Only found out when I grabbed a menu on the way out the door. This is the worse pizza I have ever had. No taste in anything and the crust was like cardboard, although I do like the thinness of it. I don't even think the mozzarella was real. I've been eating a lot of lactose free cheese and the cheese on this pizza was stringy, non oily and very much the same taste. I may have had some mozza but it must have been some filler. Appropriate COVID-19 precautions are in place and followed properly. And then there's the pizzas. Great every time, topped exactly the way I want them, and served as piping hot as can be.
