My partner & I decided to try this place out for our cheat meals this week. Called & did an order to go. The girl on the phone was very nice & helpful. When we picked up the pizza they had made an error on one of them & were quickly correcting it for us. Only took a couple of minutes & they more than made up for the mistake made. On top of that the pizza was delicious! I had the gluten-friendly crust (she even asked if they needed to switch out their gloves & utensils when handling the gluten-friendly) and the dairy-free cheese. So awesome! My partner said the same (he had the regular crust - both the thin & the thick). He's also a strongman competitor so he needs lots of food - he was satisfied with two of their pizzas for his meal. And the price point was cheap! We will most definitely be ordering from here, again! read more

Pizza places are very subjective. What wows one person can barely flip the noodle of another. Mod Pizza was like that for me and my family. I went there with my wife and pops. The place is busy. How we got a space right in front is nothing but amazing. When you walk in, you will be greeted. We were greeted when we got to the front counter. Service is A1! The guy behind the counter had a loud voice, which helps, since it's noisy in there! He had asked if we have ever been there before. We haven't and he told us how MOD Pizza works. You have a choice of an 11" or a 6" thin crust pizza. They have an 11" thick crust too! What makes Mod Pizza so unique is you can have none or every single blinking topping they have in the place. They ask more than once if you'd like some other toppings or sauces. THEY HAD TWO TYPES OF GARLIC!!! Crushed/minced and whole clove! I had to get both! No worries, my wife and I shared the pizza! We even got garlic strips! They have soft drinks, including lemonade and ice tea. A small selection of beers on draught and at a reasonable price too. On Tuesdays, their beer selection is $2.00/pint! I just stuck with the soft drink. They yell out your name when your order is ready. The pizza came out just as we ordered it, but it just wasn't what we thought was good. Whether there wasn't enough sauce, flavor or cheese type/amount, it just wasn't hitting the spot. But, we were definitely in the minority. After trying many pizzas places like this where you create your own pizza, we FINALLY found one that truly gets 5 STARS! From the welcome we received when we walked in from Oscar and the crew to the amazing job Stephanie did creating our pizzas we were impressed! I have owned pizza restaurants in the past and Stephanie was spot on when she created our pizzas. She put the sauce on evenly which is very important making a pizza, also the ingredients were evenly spread out. The final product was perfect and tasty.... You don't pay per topping, you can add what you want, how much you want. This is ideal for my family, wherein each of us has different tastes. There is quite a variety of drinks, though the fountain cups are quite small. None of us had a salad, but the ingredients looked great, too. The restaurant is very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Best of all the price was competitive: we had three people, all got the large size, all got a bottled drink and it was the same price as we'd pay the "D place", which isn't nearly as good. Ever since MOD opened its doors to its first restaurant in Reno I went at least two or three times a week. To this day I've definitely gone to MOD more times than I'd like to admit, but it's incredibly difficult to stay away from such a great deal and such great food. The food, the atmosphere, and the service here is incredible. I average about $10-$12 per visit here if I'm just ordering for myself and it's easily the best $10-$12 you could spend in Reno on food. If I ever can't seem to think of a place to grab a quick bite to eat, MOD is always the answer. If you love beer, Tuesdays are the day made just for you. On Tuesdays they have $2 draft beers and they have a surprisingly decent selection of beer for such a steal! read more

First time here and on a busy Friday night. The service line was expedient for the most part, decent little selection of beer on bottle and draft. No extra charge for additional toppings. Crust was great. Pizza overall was good. Only complaint is that we prefer to enjoy our meals in a calmer environment, not feel like we're at a sporting event. It was so LOUD it completely took away from the experience and made us feel a bit claustrophobic and unable to actually relax and enjoy our food. Wow. It's hard to blow me away but this place did it. Soon as I came in, I was greeted by the amazing and friendly staff. The ability to customize your pizza for the same price is amazing and the pizza itself was thin, crispy and delicious. Even the crust was good in that home baked kind of way. I have been here two separate occasions, and both times we're great experiences! The staff is super friendly and willing to answer any questions you have if it's your first time. Not only are they able to do that, but they work fast and efficiently. You place your order, watch them make it, answer their questions, and before you know it you're already paying for it - even if it's busy! You have a moderately short waiting period even if there were many people in front of you. While you're seated and eating, some of the staff will come around checking to make sure you're enjoying your meal or to see if you need anything else. We were a little overwhelmed when we walked in: first by the very loud environment, and second by the process. It is pretty simple, with a setup similar to a sandwich shop. You choose your size, your sauce, and then your toppings. There are paper menus available so you can start prepping before you get to the line. Once it was our turn, the lady asked if it was our first time. When we responded that it was, she was awesome about walking us through the whole process and she was very patient! We each decided to make custom pizzas on the larger size. This is an awesome choice because you pay one price and you get UNLIMITED toppings! After we each made our own perfect pizzas, we sat around for maybe 5-7 minutes and they were ready! They were both delicious and each of us were only able to eat half. They made for some great leftovers the next day. I really enjoyed the culture of their workplace. Everyone was super friendly and they all seemed to work well together to make it an efficient process. On top of that, the food was delicious. We happened upon this place by accident, and I can't wait to go back again and again. The concept is super fast individual pizzas and salads. My husband and I have different preferences in pizza - he's into the meat lovers stuff, I'm more of a garlic, artichoke hearts, etc person. Mod solves that problem. You can create your own (unlimited toppings!) or pick one of their creative specialties. The staff is over the top friendly and professional. This may have been the best customer service team I have experienced in years!! We walked in with a teary eyed 7 year old who had just had a rough baseball game. Not even 3 minutes later a wonderful staff came over with a small chocolate shake for him. And let me tell you the smile that brought!! Not to mention mom of said baseballer was also having a rough day and looked a hot mess! The food was great I would say a 4 1/2 Of 5. Minis The half for the ground beef not being what I expected upon taste test. The caramelized pear tea was delicious. I had the Tristan pizza and added ricotta and ground beef. Kids had mini variations of pepperoni and husband had his own creation. Now, we would come back for the food alone. BUT we will definitely remember the kind faces, sweet message written on the paper under my pizza and the smile put on my sluggers face after a strikout. MOD pizza is good - fun, fast and satisfying. So why only 3 stars? Well in my two visits here, I have yet to be overly wowed. On my first visit I enjoyed a gluten free build your own pizza and a side salad. I enjoyed the experience of making my own salad with all the toppings I wished, so on my second visit, I opted for the "pizza salad" which is a pizza crust lightly sprinkled with Asiago, baked and the. topped with a salad of your choice. The gluten free crust is pre baked so it's not as fresh as one might hope - I prefer mine to be in dough form before cooking so that the sauce mingles with the dough and cheese a bit better. While I really appreciate the wide array of toppings, the quality of the meats are really lacking in my opinion - all look packaged and processed. I will say that my most favorite toppings, olives and hot cherry peppers, are offered here so that's a win! And as a bonus, don't miss the roasted cauliflower that you can slap on a pizza or salad - yum! As I said, I like MOD, but there is no love in my book. read more

I generally tend to prefer local places over chains, but every once in a while a chain comes along that really impresses me. Such is the case with MOD pizza. From the moment you walk in the door you are cheerfully greeted by the employees. Their upbeat attitude is contagious and a nice change from most fast/casual dining places where you're lucky to get a smile and eye contact let alone actual enthusiasm. The concept here is simple. Good pizza super fast. It's very similar to MyPie, but better executed in my opinion. I'm a huge fan of the Caspian, but there are so many pizzas and toppings to choose from here you could probably eat here weekly for a year and not have the same thing twice. Nice touches include the ability to customize and add as many toppings you want at no additional charge. And there are a plethora of toppings to choose from. The pizza here is thin crust, but has a nice chewiness missing from some thin crust pizzas. For those who prefer a heartier crust they do have a double crust option. I could go on an on about this place, but truly the food speaks for itself. The pizza is among the best I have ever tasted in the Reno area. The prices are very affordable. I came in here today with my sister for the first time. Guy explained how everything works. I just got a mini pizza as the jasper and added roasted red peppers. My sister got a make your own mini and a mini salad. She added roasted garlic and they were super delicious. It's nice that they have the calories on the pizza menu too. They don't have wheat crusts and they don't have many topping options. The taste is there, but it's just good pizza to me, nothing really stood out. I like that they have recipes of famous combos on the wall and that you can customize your pizza if you want your own. Pick your size. UNLIMITED TOPPINGS??!! What?! So many options for sauces and toppings. We just found out about this place a couple months ago and have been 3 times already... That's a LOT considering we live on the other side of town. This is fabulous when you have a group of people that all have different pizza preferences. I like to get mine with pesto AND red sauce, but they have garlic, white sauce and a couple other options. Beyond that, the possibilities are endless! I would have never imagined that roasted cauliflower would be so delish on a pizza! In addition to the amazing food, the employees have been consistently friendly, helpful, and consistently available. They are constantly wondering around asking how things are and picking up.
