When it comes to an authentic family owned and operated pizza parlor in northern Nevada, I will have to say that "SouthCreek Pizza" is Reno's best kept secret. Ever since opening back in 2013, they have gained hundreds of positive Yelp reviews over the years. One of my good friends (whom I've known for over 35 years) recommended me to try this place out and I am so glad that I did. Located at the South Creek Retail Center, SouthCreek Pizza is situated in a quiet outdoor strip mall directly off of S. Virginia St and adjacent to Foothill Rd in the southern part of Reno. I came here with my lady during the afternoon on Friday 7/3/2026 at around 1:00pm. Parking was quite easy to find as this is a more intimate outdoor plaza with a minimal amount of eateries but other type of businesses including a dental office, a nail salon, a jewelry store, and much more. Once inside, the overall layout was very spacious with an abundant amount of indoor seating. The wooden tables & chairs create an upscale yet timeless look. However, since it was a beautiful July day, we decided to sit outside as the weather was a comfortable 80°F complete with giant red umbrellas to help shield us from the warm Nevada sun. Before I get into full detail with what we ordered, this place was as authentic as possible. So much to the point that the dough they use to bake their pizzas is actually imported from Italy! And if that doesn't get your attention, the 900°F Stefano Ferrara wood-fired brick oven was imported straight from Naples, Italy. Their menu offers a very diverse and eclectic variety of small plates, salads, and of course their traditional and specialty pizzas. We decided to go simplistic by ordering a custom pie consisting of 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni/jalapeño. Prior to when we received our pizza, we received our spices; homemade basil flakes & crushed red pepper, and shredded mozzarella cheese to add to our pie. Once the actual pizza arrived, it was piping hot and looked amazing. The first bite of this and I was quite impressed with the cheese and more notably, the crust. I will say that the dough used in their pizzas is undoubtedly better than 99% of the pizzas I have eaten in the United States. And that is saying a lot considering I've had some delicious pizzas over the years in places like San Francisco and New York City. All in all, "SouthCreek Pizza" in Reno, NV is the real deal. All of the employees I met including our hostess and the chefs who make the magic happen in the kitchen were absolutely wonderful and gave me a ton of insight of how their business was created. The ambiance and even the prices were quite reasonable as our pizza came to less than $20 after tax + tip. Came for our most recent girls night and it was so good! It was my first time dining here and I was excited to try a new pizza. It was busy but we were sat right away. Our service was fast and the food came out quickly despite it being a pretty busy night. We got a bunch of things to share for the table. We tried the solstice salad, the wedge, and a Caesar. All three salads were good but the solstice stole the show for me. Sweet and perfect for spring. We ended up getting the pizza girl, the Linda, and one more that I unfortunately cannot remember the name of but all three were so good. Happy to report that I've discovered a new staple in my pizza rotation! Southcreek is tucked away in the shops across from Winco and it took me several years to realize it was there. I wish I had found out sooner because their pizza is GREAT! It's a little on the pricey side but well worth it for the quality. They have a nice outdoor seating area and several beers on tap as well to make it a great summer time patio meal. I got to try the Linda and the Pear-a-dice on this trip which were both excellent pies! I'm looking forward to going back and trying out the rest of the menu. Their menu comes across as a Bougee cuisine but the pizza makes Dominos look good. We had a simple Pepperoni and Sausage. The crust was wet, floppy and chewy. The thick part of the crust was hard and chewy and not in a good way. We ordered the Solstice Salad, which to be honest wasn't bad. The dressing lacked flavor but wasn't terrible. I was here for a birthday party last Saturday. We were originally suppose to be out in the Patio, but it was raining, so it was moved inside. The seating was ackward for starters and the service fell short. There was just no continuity in the service. I was disappointed because we were there to celebrate my friend and I wanted it to be special for her. Visited South Creek this last Sunday around 5 PM and we were quickly seated as a party of four with a toddler. As everyone was hungry this night we were thankful there wasn't a long wait.. but timing was ideal. We couldn't decide on pizzas so we decided to try one of each of the Linda, the Mikey, the heat seeker & the special this night was the Calabrian salami pizza with jalapeño crema which was too for me but the rest of the party loved it. Loved all the fresh flavors of the pizzas and you just can't beat eating it in their restaurant. It's so fresh and warm and comes out of their wonderful authentic wood fired pizza oven. This restaurant is always consistently good and one that we love to frequent and eat in their wonderfully warm lively restaurant. We're regular customers and order from your location weekly. We always request and pay for extra cheese, and we typically confirm it again when we pick up the order. Tonight, we got home and realized the pizzas had no extra cheese or hardly any cheese at all for that matter. This has happened several times, and we usually have to ask again at pickup. my son wanted to share this spot as he really loves the pizza . It was really busy and there was a 20 minute wait but there was an option to sit in the patio. We decided to sit in the patio. Immediately my son and his wife said they had ants crawling up their legs. We told the server and he said it was no big deal that we could pick up the table and move it. We picked up the table and the chairs and moved it a few feet. Then we all experience ants crawling up our legs. The server said we could sit on the other side of the patio. My son looked and there were ants there as well. There was another couple there and they said they had ants crawling up their legs too, and this was not their first experience with bugs in the patio. We asked the server if we could wait for a spot indoors, and the server said we would have to wait longer as two other groups came in after us. We thanked the server and decided to leave. The staff was very friendly. The fact the couple said this was not the first time they experienced bugs in the patio says the establishment is failing to treat their patio for bugs. If this is not mentioned the establishment will continue to neglect the bugs. Yes, bugs outdoors is a constant battle but there are plenty of restaurants with patios who treat their patios to help minimize or avoid bugs. Before deciding to sit in the patio you may want to check for bugs first. My son was really disappointed with the experience. The bleu cheese crumbles on the wedge were the best part, and we got anchovies on the side with the caesar which added some nice flavor. For pizzas, we split three of them: the Frankie P, Pizza Girl, and The Linda. Everyone in our group thought they were excellent! Some people loved the lemon on The Linda. The Frankie P was our only one with meat, the hot soppressata was really good with the hot honey drizzled on top. When we arrived we realized the pizza is not kept under any heat source, so by the time we got it home parts of the pizza was lukewarm and seemed slightly underdone. The heat seeker seemed burnt as the crust was very black, also could have used more honey. We also left disappointed that we were charged a credit card surcharge and no one had mentioned that upon purchase. We originally decided to visit based on an Edible Reno Tahoe article picturing roasted red peppers and mozzarella, which we were told was not an offering on their menu, again leaving us disappointed and confused. Third, the same great service you enjoy inside extends outside! In the time since my last visit they've expanded their wine selection and offer some really nice bottle options, perfect for a pair or a small party. The staff knows them all well and it's a lot of fun to choose one here. Now onto the food... The pizza special is always a must. I don't care what it sounds like, get it and you will enjoy. We got the recent addition and I loved the fresh jalapeño infused ricotta, which paired up with the rich and tangy tomato sauce and bacon, and lightened up the pie in a delightful way. Salad is another must here, and I usually go for the Daggi, but a classic cesar was beckoning to me, and theirs has anchovies! I enjoyed the presentation too, with each large leaf of romaine dressed!
