I have been told to try Papa John's, for a long time. I saw somewhere that they were one of the best. So, I had a BOGO deal on Uber Eats and it was a Friday . Not just a Friday, but Valentine's Day. And it was Family Film Night. So, I decided now would be a good time to try. Since it was BOGO, I selected Create Your Own. And I went with the 16" (Extra Large) crust. I added 4 toppings. I chose New York style crust because I never had that before. I honestly believe that is my favorite crust! The slices are large! I didn't know about the butter dip! If I would have known, I would have ordered extra! Each pizza came with garlic parmesan butter dip! Oh em gee, it is so good!!!! Pizza is probably my favorite food and I have tried many around town, chain stores and small businesses. Papa John's is definitely in my top 10! read more

Went to this specific Papa John's twice, both horrible experiences. the crust is always hard, and somehow burnt all the time. We had ordered 2 medium pizzas. Somehow only got one, so the worker made our other pizza, just for it to come out like this. The ambiance overall looked depressing, photo speaks for itself. I hadn't ordered Papa Johns for a while and my kids requested I pick up Pizza on my way home from work. They are simple and pepperoni is their jam! I ordered their favorite, but NY style! It's my new favorite! I love a stuffed crust, but we passed on it this go around. My visit was in store and the young man that helped me was super friendly and helpful. I give him kudos for his service. No tables for dine in, but there's a bench to sit and wait. They were prompt on their timing and I so appreciated it after the long days I have been working. Their garlic butter sauce and their peppers are a staple! Papa Johns has been one of my favorite pizza joints for years. Two locations: one in Sparks off of Prater and Sparks Blvd and south Reno in South meadows Smiths shopping center. My family and I will be back. read more

This place needs to be inspected by a health inspector. They do not wear headsets, or gloves. We witnessed the cashier handling cash at the register and then proceeding to make pizzas. On a different occasion, we noticed that an employee was sneezing/wiping his nose with his bare hand while preparing a pizza, with no gloves. It is also very difficult to understand them over the phone because of their heavy accent. read more

But She was surprised when she opened the heart shaped pizza and found the back filled with mold. What a disappointment on Mother's Day. On the lookout for quick pizza that was easy to order online, Papa Johns came up on the Yelp & Google. Many years ago, I left one of my first terrible reviews due to an extremely awful experience with a specific individual. I decided to give them another shot based on the convenience and consistently food from the franchise in general. I'm so glad i gave them another chance! I can't emphasize enough - it's so convenient to order online and know exactly what you're getting and when it'll be ready. I arrived about 10 minutes early to pick up and we'd just wanted to check in so they knew we were there - the employees explained they'd just put in our last pizza and to allow 5-8 minutes. We told them we'd wait outside and no rush since we were early. Just as quickly as we watched them pull our pizzas out of the oven, the young man brought us our pizzas out to us to our car - offering cheese and peppers as well (usually i have to ask for these things at other pizza places). This Papa John's location is excellent. My husband and I were in the mood for inexpensive pizza on a Friday night, and we ordered an XL 2-topping for $12 with a $2 tip. What an excellent deal! The only other location in town is in South Reno, so we are glad that there is one in northeast Sparks. We placed our order online, and we were impressed by how easy it was to customize our pizza. The design of the web app on the site was the best I've seen: I was *delighted* by the graphics of each of the toppings that we selected "falling down" onto our pizza as we chose them. My husband and I spent some time debating between "sausage" and "spicy Italian sausage," so we got to experience the graphic multiple times. Our piping-hot pizza was ready for pick-up in 20 minutes. The employee working the front desk was super friendly. Stone Temple Pilot's 1994 jam "Interstate Love Song" was on the in-store radio, which made these millenials happy. Our pizza was delicious, and we both ate three slices. Four slices remain for Saturday snacking. We will be back! Now we understand how tucked in this shopping plaza this Papa John's is. To those of you wondering why this location has been closed for about 2 months now... I'm an ex employee here to tell the truth. I ran the Sparks location and on June 1st 2023, we went through a change of ownership of our franchise. The franchise includes the location in South Meadows in south Reno. The new owner was great... at first. But then they took advantage of me. They burnt me out while giving me zero credit for what I did for the place. I left with 4 hour notice because I just couldn't take it anymore. I didn't have another job lined up immediately but I had another job within a week. It was around a week after I left, they pissed off another manager that was there and he quit. This forced them to close as they don't even have enough managers to run the place. Please people go to Domino's or Pizza Guys. The new owner of Papa John's in Reno/Sparks is so screwed without a good crew. He never paid me or treated me with what I deserved. I made $16.25/Hr and did the best I could do run the store. Now I'm not even in a management position and I'm making more money lol. read more

Not a big pizza fan, but the bread sticks are on par with all of the great sauces. Downloaded the app. Ordered my bread sticks and sauces just before lunch and it's always right and ready when I get there. Very much appreciated since my lunch break is not long enough. This was our first time ordering papa John's as we live in northwest Reno and have plenty of pizza options up here that are locally owned or a chain. We choose to support local especially during this CODID-19 pandemic. My sister recommended papa johns as their pizza and sides have always looked good and said they tasted good. I wish that was our experience but as you can tell by the photos it was not. Our 3 pizza's were filled with grease. I took some breadsticks out to show just how greasy this was, you can see a pool of grease in the corner. Our poppers were dry and had a weird smell to them. My sister lives in fernley so a wait time can't be from this with how ours were. We spent $81 on a local business just to be disappointed. I would expect in hard times like this local companies especially would want to make sure their customers orders are edible. Not sure how to reply to the owner but my sister has ordered the exact same thing with hers not being this greasy. This is not a corporate issue. If you pride yourself in being a local and a local is having an issue, don't push them off to corporate. Take care of the issue within your local business and take care of your locals like they do to you. read more

Ordered over the phone this location has some of their orders delivered by DoorDash if they don't have enough drivers. Anyway I asked the driver if the tip was included and he said it said $1. Meanwhile when I called I told them and they charged me for a $5 tip. Won't be ordering from here again. Not right to take advantage of drivers with these gas prices. read more

Update: I went the next time and got pizza, and I guess it's the owner, he was awesome and I got extra pepperoni and it was absolutely delicious, it is worth the extra 20 minute drive to get pizza from you guys, I am really impressed. Asked for another pizza that was a special, and he says don't get that one it doesn't have a lot of pepperoni, just ask for extra pepperoni and I did it was so good. Yay a Papa Johns by me! Got a flyer with some great promos and ordered right away! It's brand new... opened today. Opening days are always hectic but they handled it like pros! Hubby went and picked up the food and met the owner, said he was super nice, shook his hand and everything. Food was yummy. Always love the pizza here because here are always a lot of toppings. My favorite is the jalapeño bacon cheese bread. I could eat the whole thing by myself lol. Happy to have them in the neighborhood! read more

Eric, the owner, is TOP NOTCH. I've been sick for two weeks and just wanted Papa Johns. Our delivery never made it here so my husband called for an update and Eric took the best care of us. Our delivery ended up making it to the house and Eric still comped our meal and made us a fresh pizza for our troubles! I have tried so hard to want to like this store but sadly it doesn't live up to the Papa John's I know and love. Every time I order there is an issue rather it be forgotten items, expired/spoiled sauces, and cancelled orders when product is available and store is open, but today I was delivered a basically fermented sauce cup for my breadsticks and when I called to inform the manager there was no regard for the issue besides an "oh....ok....." not even a sorry or even a question of who I am or what I ordered. I'm done spending close to $70 for a pizza, breadsticks, wings, and dessert that is poor quality only to be backed by bad service. This review may get a little weird because I'm just so damn happy and excited about the deliciousness that we just wolfed down. First of all, I'd like to thank this location for opening because I'm finally able to enjoy pizza the way pizza should be enjoyed. I was previously forced to order from an inadequate and frankly impolite franchise who couldn't get an order right if the world depended on it... I digress... I grew up in the big OH where the Papa was the only pizza place other than the hole in the wall, that was anywhere close let alone delicious. When we moved here, I was devestated to find out that there weren't even any locations out here! When one finally popped up, they wouldn't deliver to my address and I'm frankly too lazy to drive over and pick up a pie (sad, but true). I came across a gift card today that was gifted years ago and thought "Let's give it a try"... I put in my address and then the computer screen beamed rays of sun light on me and the pizza angels started singing... (I told you this could get weird) Secondly.... the delivery person that I had was the NICEST delivery person that has come to our door basically EVER. He went over the order with me to make sure he grabbed everything, he gave loves to my over eager dog who was trying to lick the pizza smell off of him and he was just overall a good and gracious human being. I wish I got his name so I can give him the recognition he deserves with his manager. Ordered online. Got a text letting me know pizza was done after about 10 minutes after ordering. Drive another 10 minutes to get there. Was told by manager that it had just popped up and would be another 10 minutes (no apology). Waited about 5 on a bench. Stood up to see what I could see. A pizza was on the "ready" shelf. Couldn't read it to see if it was mine. Stood for about 2 minutes to have a guy (who had just been eating in the back) come ask me if I was waiting for DoorDash. I responded that I was waiting for online order. He checked the computer, printed my receipt and handed me the pizza that had been sitting there. I said, has this just been sitting there?! The Papa John's in Sparks is the best place around to order pizza. We order pizza for our hospital staff almost every week and they never make mistakes on our order. The staff always recognizes me when I call in and are very personable. I want to especially thank Eric who is ALWAYS friendly no matter how annoying i am. He constantly has to take the time to fetch and email me recipts. I am thankful especially during these very hard times that they are open and willing to do their best to help our hospital staff so we can help care for the community. Recently reviewed this Papa John's location but had to give another shout out due to the staff going above & beyond on an order we wanted to have delivered to our local firefighters. This location was not offering delivery but I decided to call & ask if they could help us out because we wanted to surprise our firefighters with dinner. Papa John's Spark's said "Yes" to my request & not only delivered our order but waited for our plant manager to meet them at the station because the firefighters were responding to a car accident at the time of delivery. WOW! just pulled up to pick up my order. Noticed that the guy making the food was wearing his mask under his neck. At the same time the owner was walking out the front door putting ON his mask as he was exiting! It was obvious he was just making food. Our order took a little longer than expected and he went out of his way to personally talk to me and explain the situation when I wasn't the nicest about the situation. Just to state this is one of the worst Restaurant experience I Have ever had. Me and my friend wanted to try the new location since its closer. But looking back on it I regret. First off the location is awful. I had trouble finding it. But once I saw that bright neon sign it wasn't too bad. Second off I wasn't greeted at the door, third off after placing my order and picking it up. I wasn't offered cheese and peppers and when I did ask for some I only got two then when I asked for more they kinda just stared at me and ignore my request mind you my friends order was somewhat big. Lastly when I opened the box. The pie wasn't round, had excessive sauce and not enough cheese I feel like they try to short me on some cheese.I rather just go to pizza plus down the street. I ordered a 16" pizza and 8 bbq wings. These wings are LITERALLY inedible. They're extremely rubbery and the texture consists NOTHING of chicken. I feel sick to my stomach , I can't believe this was really served to me. The pizza was just okay. Barely okay at that. They forgot my dipping sauce THAT I PAID EXTRA FOR and the meal came without napkins , parmesan , or crushed red pepper.
