I came here cause I wanted to see what's the big difference between MOD and Pieology. Both places are the same to me, it's customizable and similar concept to Subway/Chipotle. You pick if you want a salad or pizza and go down the line to pick your toppings. To be honest, I can't really tell or taste the difference between MOD vs Pieology and all these new pizzeria popping up nowadays. However, I still enjoyed my build my own mod sized pizza ($9+), although it was a bit too burnt at the bottom/black at the bottom of my pizza :( Uhh there's really no crust to the pizza either :( Also, I love onions and really wish they had diced onions instead of the sliced onion rings. But I love that there's a variety of toppings to choose from. They also have labels/signage for the toppings and I dont have to point to this or that which is confusing especially if I don't know what something is called. Lol I still find it weird how Pieology is right across the street from MOD. Both places are good, how do I decide which place I want to go for pizza? The taste, portion size, and price is about the same. Umm their boxes are different from most pizza places. It's two separate lids/the top lid is not attached to the bottom box which I guess is convenient and produces more space on the table. Also, staff was friendly. They would shout "hi/hello" each time someone walked in through the doors and service was quick. Plenty of seating inside and outside. I love their wall decoration with photos of customers. Super clean restaurant with excellent lighting for those Yelp photos!! Another build your own pizza (BYOP) place when Pieology is right across the street. MOD Pizza offers a bunch of signature pizzas and salads on their menu or you can build your own. They offer 3 sizes for the BYOP: - Mini 6'' ($5.47) - MOD 11'' ($8.47) - Mega MOD 11'' but with double crust ($11.47) I think the main difference between MOD and other BYOP places is that there is only one signature crust to choose from and I don't believe other places offer a double crust for carb loving folks like myself. When you order the double crust, the cheese is placed between the two layers of dough and an additional layer of cheese is added on top! Hells yeah - double carbs and cheese ftw!! The staff was really kind and patient and let my bf and I create our own halves on the Mega MOD. They don't skimp out on ingredients whatsoever but I would be careful with the amount of meats you add to your pizza. I think we added way too much sausage and salami meats and our pizza ended up a tad salty. But regardless, our pizza was delish. And UM they offer ROASTED GARLIC!! Don't be scared to add this because it is not strong at all (but it will give you gas, lol). It's nice and mushy and not as strong as you'd think i'd be. I didn't think I would get full from the pizza, but with the two layers of crust and unlimited toppings my bf and I were super satisfied. Came here for lunch on a Thursday and the line was fairly short. I ordered the Caspian and Dillon James. Caspian: 3/5 This is like your typical bbq chicken pizza but with gorgonzola cheese. The kind lady who helped me told me that customers usually dont like the gorgonzola cheese on top, but I still decided to have it on my pizza. Bad idea. The gorgonzola cheese over powdered a lot of the flavor. Definitely did not go well with the pizza flavor at all. I also felt like there was way too much bbq sauce on my pizza. When I'd go in for a bite the bbq sauce would just spill out. Next time I order this I'd ask for less bbq sauce and NO gorgonzola cheese Haha. Dillon James: 4/5 This pizza was similar to a margherita pizza, except they added garlic and parmesan cheese to it. Simple yet delicious. Wasnt too heavy either. I tried this place for the first time a few nights ago. I'm usually not a fan of these build your own pizza places but it was surprisingly pretty good! They were very understaffed and there was a long wait. Despite being super busy, the girl with the blonde bangs and the cashier guy with the long blonde hair were very cheery and nice. However... I'm really only writing this review because of the worker with the rainbow hair and huge gauges. She definitely hates her job-- skimped on the pizza toppings and when I asked for some more pepperoni she mugged me and literally tossed (in a reluctant flicking motion) some more on my pizza. I also asked for just a little bit of bacon and she didn't seem to like that request either. She kept letting out huge sighs... hopefully she didn't let out any germs or anything onto my precious pizza! She really gave me a bad image of this establishment. I've tried a couple different of these fast pizza places, and MOD is my favorite. To get to the point, it's the crust: crisp and thin, but with a good toothy bite*. The toppings are tasty and fresh. I love the choices, from a great selection of pizza styles to purely DIY, and salads too, awesome. And it's cool that they have beers tho I've never partake(yet). But it's all based on sitting down with a good pizza that has a nicely done crust. *Advice: for best results: order there and eat there: as much as you love the convenience, don't order ahead unless you know you'll make it there in time to get your pie straight out of the oven. The crispy crust doesn't age well at all in the cardboard pizza prison of doom. I would imagine driving it back to the office / home would cause similar suffering. read more

This is my first time coming to MOD Pizza. this is a great spot in the Brokaw center to grab some food. You can create your own pizza with tons of choices to choose from at a very reasonable price. There are a lot of healthy choices as well. The staff was really nice and patient. MOD is probably my favorite out of all these self-make, fast pizza restaurants. They have the best crust if you compare to their competitors like Pieology or Blaze. MOD's crust is thin yet has a good texture for the bite. A huge plus for me since the crust does not get soggy as you eat! They also never burn the bottom of the crust--YES! Once your pizza is ready, you need to go and pick it up at the counter by the cash register. At that time, you can choose to have a drizzle of sauce on top of your cooked pizza! I always opt for buffalo sauce for some kick/heat. The vibe and seating arrangement are on the trendier side for a fast pizza place. There are high top bars, small tables, booths, and plenty of patio outdoor seating. They also serve beer here. Great concept of make your own pizza! Love the fact that they have unlimited toppings and a lots of options for toppings. They are generous with toppings and very reasonably priced. They have a large seating area but there's always a line to order when I go there in the evenings. Parking can sometimes be an issue but I've mostly been lucky with it. I'll bring my wife here too. Starting with the staff, they were really friendly and humorous! Actually, I asked for "hella pineapples" and the man who took my order gave me "hella pineapples," and asked me if it was okay. As if things couldn't get better; oh, but they did. The taste of the pizza was delicious, and it was a perfect size for me. They had three: a mini, normal, and a large! Not horrible. I am (or was) the Duke of the pielogy across the street, so I've had my fair share of customized pizzas. This place isn't as crowded so the line was pretty quick, and they have different ingredients. I also like that they offer a smaller pizza for those days where I know I will feel like a fatass if I finish the entire regular sized pizza. I also love that they have roasted garlic as one of their toppings, probably my most favorite topping ever. It definitely makes you fart later though. :). I think taste wise both MOD and Pieology are pretty similar, so the only deciding factor when I have to choose between the two is the wait and parking, and I feel like the wait will always be shorter at MOD. read more

This is probably my new fave pizza in town. Right when you come in, all the staff will greet you with "Hello/Hi". You get to choose which pizza you want or you can build your own. They also have old style lemonade and other choices of drinks you want including beer. Place seats 81 people. It is clean and smells good besides having your pizza cooked in their pizza oven. They also serve salads. So any vegetarian peeps are safe here . MOD is an Animal friendly, they have seating outside which is good. They have heater provided if it's too cold or prefers to have fresh air while having your pizza. Staff are awesome! They're quick yet patient. I really want to like this place but I can't give it more than 2 stars. They have a wide variety of pizza toppings which I like but the actual pizza crust leaves you with something to be desired. I had to have them remake my pizza because the crust was burnt and the toppings cold/ still raw tasting (mushrooms mostly). Second time around they only had slightly burned my pizza bottom, but the toppings we're warmed and much better tasting. When we walked in, we seen a ton of people waiting for their pizza, all social distancing just more than what we expected. I was kind of bummed because this fatty girl was hungry . The line to order our pizzas surprisingly went really fast. The guy making the pizza actually informed us that that it would be a 15 min wait, that never had that happen before, 15 mins, no problem with us. About the time we ordered 4 pizzas and paid, they had practically cleared out the place. We found a spot to wait for our pizzas to cook. Checking out the operation here, they really had it down to a science! Everyone had their own roles which seemed like everything was functioning smoothly. We were very impressed! No commotion, no madness, just pure business, getting the job done. The staff seemed to respect each other, communicating well with one another. In hindsight I should have checked the pizzas again because when I got home I discovered that while the incorrect pizza had been replaced with the correct one, they still gave us the incorrect pizza instead of the original one they got correct. I placed a mobile order and made my way in I wasn't acknowledged I stood in front of the online order pick up sign and the crew was busking pizzas and having a great time talking. Cool maybe they're working on my pizzas. I continue to stand there the girl gives out two different orders in the span of time I waited still no acknowledgement didn't ask what hell I needed or anything ok she's busy doing her thing. I would've stood there with my husband for a lot longer if it wouldn't have been for the guy who joked about receiving the wrong pizza. I asked if it was a bbq chicken by any chance and then the guy laughed and said he was just kidding. Shortly after the guy baking the pizzas finally acknowledged and asked what I was waiting for. Our pizzas were just sitting there the entire time. I thanked him for acknowledging us and helping us out since no one else did. We leave and come to realize once we get home the Caspian pizza I ordered does not have the bbq sauce it should have. A very dry pizza. Excellent customizable pizzas. Thin crust options and lots of toppings you can personalize. I've had very good experience with the staff as well. Good people skills, helpful, and pay close attention to detail including ensuring that those in my party with food allergies get the right materials without contaminants etc. This is especially good food to take home because pizzas can easily be reheated for a few minutes in the home oven and eaten later even if there's a lag time of a few hours between when you can pick up and when you can actually eat. read more
