With glorious reviews, I do see the appeal and agree on how awesome MOD Pizza is. Everything I wanted was showcased here. The pizza is cheap (Below $10), you can put as much as you want, service is nice and fast, and the pizza themselves are delicious. What's different is that the standard pizza has a thin crust meaning the pizza isn't that big and it will be unpick able if you load the pizza with toppings. Though I didn't mind eating it with a fork and knife. Besides that, I love the stretchy cheese, how hot the pizza was, the warm veggies and meat, the crunchy crust, and pretty everything a pizza should be. MOD Pizza is great! I came here one time for lunch and the service was quick and friendly. You can customize your pizza from scratch, but I decided to go with picking their Calexico pizza and modifying from there. I've had my experiences with full pizza customization in the past (read: Pieology) and I'll say that the experience and quality of the resulting pizza are​ really dependent on how good the customization was. Putting every single topping possible simply isn't going to cook well. Anyways, with my modified (added a few extra veggies and ground beef) thick-crust Calexico pizza and Oreo shake, I had a very delectable meal. The pizza was two meals in terms of how filling it was. As for the oreo shake...it did taste good, though it's quite high in calories. It's up to you to decide if that's worth it! I can see myself coming back here sometime. Give it a shot!​ read more

Good ingredients means that their ingredients should be fresh, tasty and there should be a variety. MOD Pizza offers all of that. The base is a thin crust, and from what I remember there are multiple options for crust. I don't remember what they all were, but I do remember there being around three. There were also at least four kinds of cheeses too. There were probably five or six different kind of proteins, and even a vegetarian protein. All the fresh ingredients actually seemed fresh, like none of their vegetables had a pale color to them. Service at this location was excellent. All the workers here were super friendly and attentive. I love that there's special sauces here like the ranch sriracha. I would come back here for a quick and affordable pizza craving. read more

I've given this location 3 chances but I'm finally giving up today. I have always had good experiences at other Mod locations but this one is closest to my house so I was reluctant to give it up despite having issues every time & hearing from my roomates they also had issues here. First time I went this store I ordered ahead and waited for 1 hour and kept getting told it was coming; eventually they said they "lost" my order but after waiting for that long after asking multiple times and being reassured it was cooking I didn't want to wait around longer as I wasn't confident it'd actually get made. I chalked it up to maybe new employees not knowing what to do but I avoided this location for a couple months. I tried it again last week and the person assembling my pizza didn't know how to do it , I had to walk him through the process, but again I chalked it up to new untrained employee and my food tasted ok. I went back today and I'm totally done with this location. I placed an order online and arrived 10 minutes after I got my order ready notification and it wasn't done yet which is fine. I waited another 10 minutes (now 20 min after order was supposed to be ready) and it still wasn't ready - I noticed a pile up starting of people waiting for their food (the main line to order was non existent) . I quickly realized I wouldn't be getting my order anytime soon as there were other people waiting getting a little agitated. After 30 min past, the guy finally acknowledged me again to ask what my name was again, so I gave it to him and he looked around but presumably didn't find it again and just went back to standing there haha. I approached maybe around the 35-40 min mark and showed him my order receipt and he said they were working on it. The ordering line was gone and all the pizzas were in the oven so I figured mine had to be there. Once those oven pizzas came out, he slowly cut them up and didn't call out the order so I approached again and asked if any were mine to which he replied "no we're still working on yours" I asked where because the oven was now empty & he pointed to the ordering assembly line implying they hadn't actually ever started my order. There was a guy assembling the pizza that he pointed at saying was mine however, it had cheese on it so I know it was not mine. I told him that wasn't my order and he just repeated again they were working on it. Now about 45 min In I asked the cook who was putting the pizzas in the oven if he could check i it & he kept coming back to look at my receipt and look around the shop & he also couldn't find it but didn't offer me a resolution or say they would actually start my order. One time I wanted a pizza with half marinara and half white sauce and they made it! The recommendations on toppings are useful, and makes the pizza taste that much better. This is by far my favorite "build-your-own" pizza place! I like how they are reasonably-priced for the serving size. The unlimited toppings are also great and the flavorful sauces add the right touch to the pizza. This location is pretty busy and the line gets really long during the evening. I came during a huge party and it was incredibly loud. But nonetheless, my experience was positive and I left feeling full. The other comparable pizza places I've noticed are on the pricier side and here, you can get the small personal size for under $7 including tax! Yeah! I've always like the idea of creating your own personalized pizza and it comes in three sizes mini, mod or mega. Bro and I chose the mod for $8.87 which is more of a medium size so we order one with red mariana sauce and one presto and what's best unlimited toppings/veggies and man we went overboard with all the trimmings. What we liked about this place is that you can observe them making the pizza with the added toppings of your choice placed it in the oven till fully baked. The staff are so wonderful and gracious which is more than enough for us to come back again. For drinks we had two floats and that was so refreshing. One of the staff slice our pizza with all the fresh ingredients veggies included was top notch. This is not your cheap ass Domino's Pizza if not ten times better. Here they do have outdoor patio and ample parking space. Will add this to my go to list a five star rating! read more

I love the concept of making your pizza just the way you want it. The pizza makers will add a little extra of this or that just to make it perfect. For me, I ask for a little cheese on top after the items and I like my pizza crispy. They always seem to get it right and cook it perfectly. Once I tried the cauliflower crust and it was delicious!! Wasn't a fan of this place. I am a BIG pizza lover and this place was such a disappointment. I usually love the concept of making your own pizza so I went here specifically for that. The crust is the worst!!! The more toppings you add on your pizza, the worse it gets. The pizza crust is very weird and cannot hold all the toppings and ends up making the pizza very soggy. The ingredients are sub par. The staff is not friendly. I forgot to add a topping and told the lady working there to add it before it goes in the oven and she just rolled her eyes. All were undercooked, toppings and dough included. Waaaay too many toppings and improperly cut ingredients. I've never had sliced red onion rounds on a pizza at MOD - always been chopped. Whole pieces of garlic that sunk the pizza inwards. Slices were cut from large to small. Pizza prep was definitely rushed. Won't eat at this branch again. read more

When we first started going to this Mod pizza (we were there on opening day), this place was amazing. The service, the taste - everything was excellent. On a recent visit on a weekend, we were extremely disappointed. Service: uninterested staff, just going through the motions. Pizza: not worth the trip. Toppings were burnt, the pizza tasted burnt and we ended up having to eat elsewhere after this. The choice in toppings is also limited compared to Blaze. My first impression of MOD Pizza is that it is definitely giving Pieology a run for its money. The crust is better and the toppings are a million times better. Plus I feel the pizzas come out way faster! I got a mini pizza topped with spinach, arugula, pesto, all the garlic, broccoli, cauliflower, gorgonzola cheese, red onions, and corn. Afterwards I thought I went a little crazy mixing random toppings together but it came out delish! My two gripes with this place is that the service isn't that great. My Dad ordered a beer on tap and the cashier for some reason had to have someone else pour said beer. The person who had to pour the beer scolded the cashier for not pouring it herself. Also the tap was out and the beer came out way too foamy. Instead of them changing the keg out for us the staff told us to just pick a bottle of beer instead. Not the best customer service if you ask me. I also got a cider and they never once asked if we needed a bottle opener. Luckily my life skills came in handy and I opened the bottles with my lighter. Also I'm vegetarian and had to watch a staff member touch all this meat and proceed to touch the vegetables that went on my pizza. I didn't want to make a big deal out of this, but they should really be sensitive about this especially if people are actually allergic. I did however appreciate that they carry dairy free cheese which I wish was pointed out to me sooner in the front of the line rather than the end, but I understand cross contamination issues and whatnot. Awesome food and great service! I came here on a Friday night with my cousin and it was PACKED - waited about an hour in line to order, but what can I expect right? A lot of great topping choices and decently priced. You can get a personalized pizza for about $10 and if you're like me I usually eat half and save the other half so if you think about it you're spending about $10 for 2 meals. Only thing I would ding them for is a soggy bottom but I honestly expect that because every pizza place I've been to (Pieology, Blaze, etc) has the same problem. read more

I live near this place and for the first time I went in there and had the best customer service I have ever had. Since the moment I open the door we were greeted and acknowledged. The personality of these two employees was exceptional. I wish I would have gotten their names but I'm sure I'll see them again. I've always had a solid experience at this MOD Pizza location. Located in the Marshall's and Sprouts plaza, parking isn't too hard to find, but the lots in this area get quite busy during lunch hours. If you're familiar with the build-your-own personal pizza style restaurants, MOD Pizza should be a similar experience. You have a choice between the standard sized (8.5") or a larger personal pizza (11" I believe) with unlimited toppings. You have your choice of sauce (tomato, pesto, BBQ, etc) as well as any extra flavors on the crust (ex. Garlic rub). You then choose your choice of cheese, vegetables, and meats. It's perfect for getting pizzas in groups without having to worry about which toppings people like/don't like. You can also add a post-bake sauce if you ask such as hot buffalo, bbq, and other popular flavors. Aside from the sauces, they also have a self-serve area to pick up shakers for hot pepper flakes, oregano, and extra cheese. Overall, the service here usually is pretty good, and I haven't had any issues with my pizza yet. read more

Avoid! Terrible customer service, poor management, staff with attitude, the worst pizza experience I've had and I couldn't even imagine such a bad experience getting a pizza. I came in 20 minutes before they were closing, the person at the counter making pizzas told me he will be with me in a few minutes, so I stood there patiently waiting no complaints. After about 15 to 20 minutes or so he tried to tell me that I couldn't order my pizza and that they were closed. Wow seriously when you told me you'll be right with me to help me in a couple minutes and after I wait like 20 minutes do you want to tell me to go home? How is that ever OK? The shift lead or someone like that overheard and told him to make my pizza, but that point I was pretty upset and I really didn't want this person touching my food, but apparently he was the only one qualified to make pizzas here, so I had to deal with it and settle since I've already wasted 30 minutes being hungry. During the time as I'm waiting for my pizza, the "shift leader" and a customer get into a verbal and physical confrontation! The customer had been waiting about half an hour for her order and she was told the same thing that she couldn't get her order and she had to leave, but she was there before I got there, with a little kid, and was obviously upset being told that after standing there waiting. After another 20 minutes or so of a spectacular debacle which all the customers inside witnessed, I received a burnt pizza. One hour for a burnt pizza and the worst experience including a fight inside the restaurant and it's not even the customers fault?? Wow. I can't help but compare MOD Pizza to Pieology, mainly because they're across the street from each other. Was making MOD so close to an already established Pieology smart? Risky? Well, one thing's for sure, it makes all pizza cravers question where to go. At least that was my dilemma today when I craved pizza after leaving Supersport (yes I had no self control today, but in my defense I also ordered a salad). I gave MOD a go. First thing I noticed was getting greeted right when I walked in. And the huge space! Spacious indoor AND outdoor seating (there's like two small tables outside of Pieology). It's pretty much the same concept - you can order a pizza they have or make your own with unlimited toppings. I made my own pizza and got a regular cesar salad (not the MOD salad) and the total came to about $18. Some slight differences I noticed: -MOD doesn't have herb butter sauce like Pieology -MOD makes their salads fresh whereas Pieology has pre-made salads in containers by the register -MOD offers mini pizzas and different crusts -MOD serves beers and shakes -MOD has a much bigger parking lot Overall, I enjoyed my pizza! All the toppings tasted fresh, and they put the sauce on the side for me like I asked. The salad was also a good size. The service was alright. The first worker I encountered wasn't so pleasant, but the rest were very friendly. It's still going to be a tough decision between MOD and Pieology. Same concept and roughly the same size pizzas for similar prices. But MOD definitely has more variation in my opinion... come test the waters for yourself! read more

VEGETARIANS BEWARE: Their pizza dough is such that it forms bubbles when they put it in the oven. They use this long pointy stick to pop those bubbles forming on top of the pizza. They use the same stick on all the pizzas in the oven. So if you are a strict vegetarian, this might be a big issue for you since the stick might have bits and pieces of meat which can get on your Pizza. Pizza was good, their regular pizza is thin crust, their "thick" pizza is regular crust. Staff can use some more training to be more friendly. read more
