I've only been here once but I found it to be brilliant the way you can pick and chooses from so many ingredients. If you have food allergies or preferences or your just a picky eater I highly recommend this place. I'm a vegetarian and sometimes have trouble finding things to eat at restaurants and fast food places so a place like MOD pizza makes my life so much easier when I'm about and about or meeting up with a friend bc I can tell them exactly what I want and I'm watching them make it so there are no mistakes. Their salads look delish as well but I haven't tried them yet. read more

I got to say, I was pleasantly surprised! The idea of a 'chipotle-esque' pizza joint just didn't sound completely appealing, but I can confidently say I am now a believer! Walk in and you start in the corner where they begin your order. W hen I came I didn't really know what I was walking into, just had a few pizza orders from the family, I probably looked like a deer in headlights so one of the cashiers was quick to help me and guide the way. I ordered a few pizzas and got a small simple salad and a beer to drink while I waited for everything to be made. I was stoked to find out for the regular sized pizza, which is a good size, $9 for as many toppings as you'd like! Which can be a real treat for those who love to pile on the meats. This place could be so fun because you could come up with with so many different combinations! For the three pizzas and salad, didn't take long to serve up and hand them over (luckily I was there with only few people there). The result: everyone loved there food! Crust wasnt burnt or gooey, had the perfect crunch, ingredients tasted yummy and fresh. The only thing I'd say that I wasn't completely stoked on, the salad was super small and boring, which I understand I got the 'small simple salad' but the container wasn't even filled up and it was just mixed lettuces in a cup wish a small sprinkle of cheese for $6. The ordering part was easy and the interaction I had with several of the employees was helpful and friendly, big plus. I ordered, for takeout, the regular size pizza with red sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, basil, pepperoni, mushrooms, artichoke, fresh tomatoes. It was surprisingly good. All for one low price. I forgot to ask for extra char as it would have helped support such a loaded pie and added that little bit extra flavor. It traveled home well and I was able to eat about half, and I was starving. So two meals for one low price. I love getting a vegetarian plus pepperoni which usually costs about $18 + elsewhere. Will definitely be back. Excellent value. read more

The pizza that was delivered was cold. It looked as if it had been made several hours earlier and then just sat under a heat lamp. The speed in which my ordered arrived (very quick) confirms that my pizza was not made fresh after my order was placed. I did reach out to MOD via the Uber Eats link. No response yet. This 6" personal sausage pizza and their chocolate mini cake (the size of my palm) cost $41.00 (that included my tip). I don't care for the location on Almaden though because it's usually very messy and some of the staff clearly doesn't like customer interaction, but overall I go where the pizza is. I've never left a review before but I feel the need to make an account based on the experience I had. A very tall, curly blonde young man on the heavier side helped my husband and I. He looked extremely unhygienic, not to be mean but it plays a part in my experience. I witnessed his handling dough and other ingredients without gloves and had not seen him wash his hands at all. It was very upsetting. While my pizza was being cooked I could overhear him and his coworkers casually talk about their drug use. It was just baffling to me. read more

Running errands and got hungry. It happens! ‍ I was near MOD Pizza so thought I''d check it out. Now it's fast food-ish, but honestly I was expecting more. So it's LOUD. Like don't even think about having a conversation with anyone there, including the staff. Which is challenging since you have to talk to the staff the whole time to choose your toppings for your pizza. (Think Subway sandwiches but for pizza). I explained it was my first time there, and got a sorta-decent explanation of how it works. When asked if I want it to go or to eat there, I explained I wanted to eat half there and take the rest home. She just repeated the question and not too kindly. "So do you want it for here or to go?" Uhh.... I was hoping you could recommend how I should order since I have no idea how it is served. Since we were practically yelling to be heard over them loud (but good) music, I gave up and got it to go. I wanted a glass of wine to go with my pizza. Well, you can get a bottle or a can of winne. A can is 12 oz-- so close to 3 glasses of wine. If you want a glass you will be out of luck. You have to ask for a plastic cup. Speaking of plastic, looked like everything was disposable. (Actually, so few people were dining in it was hard to judge but from what I could see it was all plastic.) They do have two types of beer on tap. While waiting for my pizza (and they call out your name to get your pizza-- again challenging over the din) another employeee was sweeping the floor --including right under my table where I was sitting. This was weird. I mean I appreciate trying to clean up. But kicking up dust (she was sweeping in a slow controlled manner, not like a cray person making a bigger mess) but still. And right underneath me? Eh...not a fan. The pizza was fine. Thin crust, fair number of toppings (they brag about 30+ toppings, but some were kinda odd and some more common toppings (hello red bell peppers) were no where to be seen. Lots of choices for sauce too, and they offer free of charge dipping sauces which was nice, too. The wine in a can was good too, and that was a nice surprise. Just wish I could have gotten something by the glass (and in a glass). My net: Fine for takeout if you are in the area. If you are love with the completely unfinished aesthetic even though it's a brand new building and you don't want to talk to your friends, then stay to eat. (They have an outdoor patio that would probably be nicer but that did not appear to be open or heated the night I was there.) read more

I love this place! They offer really good gluten free (friendly) vegan crusts and vegan cheese! The staff is usually very nice and they do tend to keep the ingredients tidy and in their own containers, most of the time. I love their seasonal fruit toppings as well as their seasonal pumpkin sauce too. I'm often in the mood for just a salad and will come here because I get to choose my toppings, just like with the pizza. Prices are actually very reasonable considering you can have anything you want on your pizza or salad. read more

It was my first time coming to a mod pizza today and I can say I will 100% be coming back. Pizza was tasty, it's on the thinner side so be wary if you come here, but it's still really good! Sean helped me and he was lovely. I told him it was my first time here and that I have MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment). He was super understanding and helped make the whole process a lot easier than it would've been almost anywhere else. The whole staff was super friendly as well. Very disappointed to go in after not being there for a while and being told their online orders are a priority and that I had to wait probably 15 minutes. While waiting more online orders kept being put on wall and done while my family stood there watching. When I finally was about to leave they did our order but I will never go there again if this is how your restaurant is being run!! The person who prepared my salad was boisterously helpful and described everything for me with enthusiastic details. It was indeed super fast and I was munching my food within 4 minutes of walking in. Seating was plentiful and the fountain drink selection was nice, including two types of iced tea. When I walked in to the place the smell was so very inviting, just the way you want pizza to taste. The place is similar to pieology where you add what you want to your pizza... I so much very much wanted to like the pizza, but quite honestly it fell short... I like the Caesar salad Mitch more than the pizza... I miss Persona pizza... I do like this better than the other Chipotle-like pizza place on Mendocino Avenue (Pieology). The crust is much better - it is not cracker thin. It's still thin, but very chewy. The crust holds its shape and doesn't flop. Unfortunately they really really skimp on the toppings, compared to the other place. The pizza itself isn't as greasy or oily as Pieology. The sauce and mozzarella cheese are much better too. The 11" pizza is only cut into four slices. It makes those slices huge and hard to handle. Six slices would be best - I wonder if that can be requested. Prices are par for the course. The service isn't "superfast" - I don't know if that's because there were a lot of people or because the oven is too small. The inside is brand new and it looks good. read more
