I recently discovered there are 2 locations. This review was meant for the Petaluma location. I am sure Santa Rosa is great, too! I love this place! From the moment I walked in, good vibes all around. Julie is serving me at the bar and she is on point. I started with a glass of Vermentino and the Insalata Della Casa. How many house salads come with artichokes and pickled onions these days? It was light and refreshing. Moving on to the pasta course. I ordered the Scarpariello and it was surprisingly light for a pasta dish, and loaded with flavor. Yellow and red baby tomato sauce with fresh basil, Calabria chili and pecorino. I wanted a glass of red to accompany the dish and was contemplating a Primitivo. When I mentioned this to Julie, she offered an off list Primitivo without the jammy punch. It was nice, she was on to what I was trying to achieve. I ended up with a Sangiovese and my dignity. All around a great experience and I didn't feel like I was mugged after paying the bill. I really appreciate a good glass of wine for $12-15. I am exhausted by paying $20 for mediocre wine in wine country. Thank you Julie and company for appreciating your cliente. Decided to check this place out since it was downtown and a few minutes from where I live. To start we waited around 20 minutes for seats at the bar. The ambiance of the place really speaks to its Italian roots with different decor around the restaurant. Even the TV display was a tourist POV of their day in Naples, Italy. Our server was amazing and was kind to recommend us different menu options seeing it was our first time visiting. We went with the lasagna and the boscaiola pizza. The lasagna was tasty and delicious. The pizza was good, the soft droopy center just wasn't to my liking but was still great taste wise. The game changer is the side of chili oil, definitely a must add to both the pizza and the lasagna. To round off dinner we got the pistachio cake, seeing it from other yelp reviews we were sad to not see it on the dessert menu. (we got lucky it was a special of the day). This place is so hit or miss. They either take forever or they are extremely fast. They either pour you a decent glass of wine or pour you a half pour. Wow what a combo they went very well together and the meatballs were absolutely delicious I think this place has the best meatballs I have ever tried in any Italian restaurant ever. I got the Italian soda and it was refreshing! I appreciated the little lemon they added. The pizza was absolutely delicious as well. It is obviously what they are known for. I have to say I was not a huge fan of their gnocchi. I felt like the flavor was a little bit everywhere, but it was still alright. It just wasn't a flavor that I'm particularly familiar with. I probably wouldn't order it again, but my partner liked it. Service was really great. Our server was able to bring us a refill on water and he was very attentive. Even though he had a packed second floor. I definitely will be back. I felt like it was really good and very fresh, which is hard to find nowadays for Italian restaurants. Stopped by while in Santa Rosa on a business trip, and this turned out to be one of the best brunch spots in town. The inviting outdoor seating is what caught our eye first -- we literally sat down because of it. Inside, the space has a unique Italian-inspired design that feels both warm and stylish. It felt like a slower day as we were sat down almost immediately. We gave our order quickly and we only ordered one pizza- no drinks, no apps, nothing else and our order took forever to arrive! Pizza was good, but we waited for over 40 minutes- checked in with a server only to be told "it's coming right out the oven now" and then another 10 minutes to pass and another server tells us the same thing "it's coming out now". Yeah I don't care how good a pizza is, it's not worth coming here if service is so bad. It shouldn't take an hour for it to come out. It seemed more likely our ticket either didn't get stacked in the correct order or something happened and they forgot to submit our order. There were 4 of us in our group and we shared 2 orders of bruschetta. So good. In total we had the bolognese pasta, meatballs, and calzone. I could not wait to try this restaurant out. It was my birthday and Italian food is one of my favorites. We ordered the antipasto plate and some pizzas I got the margherita pizza which I loved. Truly delicious pizza! I absolutely adored my pesto pizza- I ate way more than I needed to because it was just that good. They also severed their tiramisu in an adorable little coffee pot. I'm not usually into weird plates, but this was really creative and cute. Only downside is that this location's menu is a lot smaller than their sister restaurant in Petaluma! I came in wanting something more meat-based, but our best option was pasta alla bolognese (which wasn't quite what I had in mind). It was raining today but that didn't stop me from joining my friend at L'Oro Di Napoli. It was my first time there. The team of workers were friendly and fun. Our waitress, Tiffany was fabulous, friendly and efficient. The food was fresh and delicious. The salad was made of fresh ingredients, delightful. The lasagna was delicious and a huge portion. Disappointing experience and it didn't meet expectations to their ratings. Insalata di Barbabietole (Beet Salad) is noted as "wild arugula, red and golden beets, lemon ricotta, caramelized hazelnuts tossed with glazed balsamic fresh raspberry dressing." however what we got had -no golden beets -no lemon ricotta seemingly, but instead a unknown pink ricotta(?) -no caramelized hazelnuts, but instead pine nuts -no *raspberry* balsamic dressing seemingly -side of plain olive oil (?) The salad itself was fine but frankly unremarkable. I totally get that supply issues or unknown circumstances necessitates some changes, however what we got was simply not the same product (at least didn't match the other beet salad posted here). The main issue was the misrepresentation and lack of communication. No one took a second to mention the changes, so that we could simply say "sure" or "no thanks". Either that, or the cook just messed up and made the wrong product. It's distracting to think "did I get the right dish?" then have to go back to the menu to double check.. not what you want to do during dinner. As for the Pizza Diavola, the flavors are good. Neapolitan pizza is soft and floppy, sure I get it, so can't hold that against them. Though we felt quite confident that there was too much spicy salami (lol yeah, complaining about too much meat right?). The salty spiciness made it imbalanced (and I love salty spicy foods). A little goes a long way for this one when you want the pizza to shine. But all good, it's a simple fix, just pick some off if it's too heavy handed. read more

I picked this place because of its high reviews. Unfortunately, I was not that impressed with the pizza. Eat pizza was very wet in the middle and all the toppings slide right off. We got the Margherita, Capricciosa, Boscaiola, and Primavera. My personal favorite was the Primavera. The fresh burrata and parmesan was delicious! The crust was good, but the wetness of the middle of each pizza was disappointing. I want my pizza to be able to hold its shape if I take a slice out of it. L'Oro Di Napoli is currently our favorite Italian/pizza restaurant in Santa Rosa. The restaurant is cozy and inviting, the food always delicious and the service professional and friendly. Reservations are not accepted and the place fills up quickly. We have tried many of the appetizers, salads, pizzas and pastas and have enjoyed every one of them. We love to get a couple of salads and then share pastas and pizzas. It's a fun way to eat and makes for a lovely experience. All this being said, this restaurant is not perfect for large parties. The ambience is intimate with almost all tables meant for smaller parties. This place is perfection for tables of 1-6 people. We started with the focaccia but it was really just a white pizza. Which turned out to be great as one of our party can't have regular pizza and she loved it. We also tried the meatballs. Then we had some margheritas and my husband had a pizza with a bunch of stuff on it. We all really liked the pizza - the dough is fantastic and cooked perfectly. Bustling Italian bistro with a hometown charm. They don't take reservations, so sometimes the wait might be a little long, but it's worth the wait. We are shown to our table for four upstairs and started with some bubbles and decided what our meal was going to consist of. I had the Insalata Mista, which was fabulous with the mustard vinaigrette. We shared their garlic focaccia, which was outstanding. Pasquale got us through our meal that evening. For mains, my wife and I split the huge calzone. It was perfectly done with amazing fillings. Wow this place was sooooo good. As someone that took a pizza making class at the AVPN in Naples, I honestly haven't had better pizza since then until now! A few weeks back, we stopped by and it was very lively since the Pride festival had just wrapped up, making it a fantastic spot to grab a bite. The Santa Rosa downtown L' Oro's location is so amazing! When you walk in you're greeted by a host, who's always welcoming and ready and accomaidate you and your party. I love walking in and being able to see the bar and the chefs working on the pizzas and the interior has amazing details of Italian street life. We started off with the meatballs, which were delicious! The meatballs were a good size and the marinara sauce had a good tang to it. For the pizzas we had the Margherita and the Capricciosa. The Margherita was light and airy, with a bit of nice char throughout the crust giving it a nice balance. The Capricciosa had delicious toppings that tasted very well together. The artichoke hearts bring the pizza together definitely one of my favorites! Also don't forget to ask for the chili oil to top on your pizza. It's so delicious.
