The pizza is good but I was given the wrong pizza. I made my own but was then given a cheese pizza!

I'm a big sucker for pizza and also unlimited anything, so I knew it was my calling to try out MOD Pizza. You can either choose between build your own pizza or from a menu of pizza choices. I opted for the build your own pizza, which cost around $12. The great thing about build your own is that you get unlimited toppings, you can definitely get the most out of your money!! They made the pizza in less than 10 minutes, and some delicious, hot pizza is served! I normally can't eat an entire pizza in one sitting, but this pizza was gone in 15 minutes. Because the crust is thin, it was easy to eat this pizza without feeling heavy afterwards. The tastiness of your pizza honestly depends on what toppings you like and what you put on your pizza. So it's great that you have that creative freedom!

MOD is one of my favorite pizza chains. I always layer my pizza up with red sauce, dairy free cheese, and double of all veggies. Yes, I'm a veggie monster, and proud of it. I love the variety of toppings, but my favorites are the roasted broccoli and roasted corn. The employees are friendly, quick, and efficient. My pizza is usually done within 15-20 minutes, depending on how busy they are. Pro tip: I just tried their Mike's Hot Honey Sauce for the first time, and I am addicted! It has the perfect balance of hot and sweet; it will make your lips tingle for sure! Ask for it on the side though, because a little goes a long way. I've also tried their Buffalo sauce, SriRancha, and Balsalmic Fig sauces. The Buffalo sauce is spicy, but too tangy for my taste. The SriRancha is on the mild side, so if you don't like a lot of spice, I would recommend it. I used to like the Balsamic Fig sauce, but I think it's overpoweringly sweet unless you order it on the side.

Overall, this was a pretty average experience. I'd been to this location twice before and had better pizzas, but this time it sort of fell flat. The workers were nice, but the interior of the restaurant was sort of a mess with boxes all over and just had a dim sort of feel because some lights were out. This gave it a subpar atmosphere. I will say, I am pleased with their outdoor seating area! That's a huge plus. Then when it came time for me to make my pizza, the workers didn't seem very generous about the toppings and the crust was a little bit over cooked on my girlfriend's and undercooked on mine. After that, we had super unevenly cut slices, but no harm no foul cuz the pizza would still taste the same. As I said, it was an average experience: the pizza was still tasty, just not as good as it usually is and was a little disappointing.

It's both mine and my husband's go-to choice when we are craving pizza. The best part is that you can have toppings of your choice. So generally, there is a lot of variety in the meat options available. A couple of times, the servers are generous enough to give a little of each of the meat options too. There's a wide range of greens and other toppings to choose from. The portions are always very generous. I always get a loaded pizza with greens and protein. It is really stomach-filling and more than sufficient for one person. very reasonable price and really good customer service. They also give the choice of any two sauces

I rarely rate chain fast casual restaurants, but MOD is a standout among national fast casual chains. I have been coming to MOD over the years going back 4-5 or so years ago in Seattle. I've eaten MOD in Seattle and around the Puget Sound and MOD in Houston, Texas, and the consistency and quality has been the same across geographies and over time! Affordable pie at a great price! I love being able to customize my own pizza to order and having it come out fresh and piping hot!! Whenever I make my pie, I always load up on plenty of meats, roasted garlic, onions, and all sorts of other goodies! I love the variety of cheeses (mozzarella, ricotta, Asiago, etc) they have to put on your pie -- they even have some sort of Gorgonzola if that's your thing! I do wish the MOD here on the ave had Serrano chili peppers--I loved having that extra kick back in Houston! I also wish the ranch had more of a tang, but this is just a minor complaint! Pro tip: if you're loading up on toppings and don't want a soggy pie, ask for the pizza to be cooked well-done for maximal crunch and fresh-baked taste!

Mod Pizza is pretty awesome. It's a spot that you can stop in and tell them exactly what you want on your own personal pizza, then the cook it for you! It's a dream. I came here with a friend and it was not busy at all. We were greeted by a friendly associate behind a counter who guided my friend through the process of choosing a crust, sauce and toppings for his pizza. There truly are a ton of options. I opted for a traditional pepperoni pizza with lots of veggies on it - which is my typical jam. I adore the standard thinner crust how it comes out all crispy and perfect. I did burn my mouth on it with my first bite though - so be careful! I went to the dentist the next day and she noticed the scarring on the roof of my mouth! Anyway, this location was great and I found parking right out front. Although, I must say the entrance is kind of weird - you have to go into the alley to go in the front door, which was confusing at first. Please add signage to make it easier to spot the entrance! (or maybe this makes it extra hip to have a "secret entrance?" I dunno - but I'm glad this location is here! Thank you!

They ruined my pizza. Howwwww???? I tried to eat it still but it's literally burnt just as much on the bottom as on the top. How could they even approve this to serve a paying customer. Highest level of disrespect in this one

Pizza craving? Gone! There are three kinds of pizza cravings that I feel in the night. The first kind is the "I want to stay at home" craving. It's where I want to order pizza delivery and just eat it with a good movie. The second kind is the "fine dining pizza" craving. That's where I would want to go to Tutta Bella or Serious Pie for some seriously fresh, expensive pizza. And the last kind is the "I don't feel like staying home but I don't want to pay so much" craving. This is where Mod comes in. :) Price? Fantastic! As of May 2014 it's 7.17 to get one of their classic pizzas. And if you're a UW college student, you may be lucky enough to come across a Mod coupon that says "buy one get one free." Basically, two pizzas for 7.17? What a deal! It's exactly what my partner and I did. The place is pretty easy and organized. Just walk in and you'll be greeted by the staff and the menu is right in front of you. You can order from their 10 classics and also add whatever toppings you want for no extra charge. However, I like to just stick with the classics and not mess with it. The toppings they pick seem to meld together quite well. So all together we ordered 4 pizzas: Calypso, mad dog, jasper and Ulysses. They are made to order and are definitely fresh. You watch your pizza get made and then put into the fire. However, they do skimp out on toppings a bit. It's not exactly even but still good enough. Within minutes they'll call your name and you can pick up your pizzas. They have shakers of red pepper flakes and Parmesan. Make sure to put them back though because the whole dining area has to share! Let's eat! The mad dog and jasper are pretty much the same except the mad dog has pepperoni and the jasper has mushrooms. Both are red sauce and have spicy sausage. Basically your classic pizza, but still really good. The crust is thin and perfectly crisp! The calypso is smothered in BBQ sauce, has chicken and red onions. Pretty good if you like BBQ chicken pizza. I'm not a huge fan, but I know my partner is. It's his favorite one. The Ulysses doesn't have any sauce. It's actually just based on cheese, herbs and mushrooms. Definitely a strong cheese and mushroom flavor. It is quite strong so if you don't want an overpowering Parmesan like flavor, I wouldn't recommend this one. I'm not sure if I would get the Ulysses again. It definitely was interesting, but not something totally mind blowing. I might try the sienna and see if that's any better. Overall though, cheap, really filling, and the staff are friendly. The pizzas are thin crust and quite good even if the toppings aren't put on evenly. Still satisfies that pizza craving though! :)

The staffs are rude. Food= its not that bad. inexpensive and okay taste. the dough is extremely dry so I needed alot of water that goes along. they don't have any hot sauce. I haven't asked for it but what they usually display is pepper sprinkle Customer Care = Thank you for playing music extremely loud every night. Although I have informed them three times regarding loud music after 10pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends, they don't seem to control the volume of the music. once I saw them playing music at 12:40 am while they were closing and cleaning the place!!!!! Not able to communicate with customer = unprofessional It does not matter whether I talked to the cashier or cook or district manager. They ignore customer's opinion and go on with its "Company Policy". It really Wowed me. Let's see what they will say when the civic law involves in. read more

Becoming one of my favorite places to have a pizza. For nine bucks they will build you a personal medium-size pizza with any toppings you like. I know a lot of people just order a pepperoni or cheese pizza but, if you like all kinds of toppings this is the place. read more

Always hits the spot! And as they say, their food is always fast, fresh and delicious! I usually get a mix of motz & gorgonzola cheeses with grilled chicken, whatever veggies i'm in the mood for, and buffalo sauce on the side. Their bbq chicken pizza is outstanding as well. It's also nice for big eaters, because you can load on several helpings of meat at no extra charge... and the $1 PBRs (in the bottle) are definitely a plus! Overall, MOD is an amazing chain that I am always in the mood for! read more

Excellent "super fast" pizza at an outstanding price: $5.88 per 12" pizza! You can select a pizza from their menu, or create your own, and the price will stay the same! Every pizza is made to order, baked while you wait (usually about 3-5 minutes), and presented to you by a friendly server from behind the counter. The final product leaves you feeling satisfied without the overly greasy or bloated sensations often associated with big-time fast food chain pizza. MOD is by far my new favorite pizza place to have lunch at on or near the Ave. No more wasting time and money at Pagliacci, home of the soggy pizza and crabby service. Happy to have this business in the U-District - I will be back! read more

Very simple interior decor, mostly a clean wood finish. We were there when it wasn't busy, therefore, we had some space and privacy to shop talk the GN'R show after and do some foot notes for my zine. I judge a pizza based on the crust and the crust was well baked. It's not the best pizza I've had but it is one of the few better crusts that I've had in the city. I like the DIY style which was fun. Great customer service and fair prices. read more

Seriously disappointed. Love MOD on Capitol Hill but stopped in the U District store and didn't want to eat once I sat down and noticed how filthy the tables were. Tried to move and found that it was every table that was that filthy. Was there with an employee from another store and he was embarassed. We asked for a rag to wipe down the tables and they handed it to us so we could do it ourselves instead of coming around the counter and doing their job. The bottoms of the pizzas were blackened to the point of getting our hands dirty. read more

Love this place! I love thin crust pizza and tons of toppings - both of which are offered by MOD. My only complain would be that my crust gets too burnt on the edges for my liking, but the unlimited and huge variety of toppings makes up for it. I've never seen brussel sprouts offered on pizza anywhere else, but I love it! I wish they had bigger sizes also, instead of the Mega MOD just being a double crust, but oh well. Love that you can also order online without making an account. They also have Manny's on tap! read more

This place is just about as good as it gets. The only thing that could make it better is if the place were even bigger than it is! Now, I have never had trouble getting a seat here, but it's still new and I expect the place to start filling up as it makes a name for itself in the U District. The seriously tasty pizza reminds me a bit of the wood-fired pizzas I had in Naples. The crust is thin, yes, but it's not crunchy, so you don't feel like you're eating off a cracker. There are a variety of sauces to choose from, including barbecue which is surprisingly good. I will certainly return, and hopefully soon! read more

MOD Pizza is everything a college student could possibly want. It's cheap, it's fast, it's filling, and it's closer to campus than most places on the Ave. Sure the crust is really thin and often charred to a crisp on the edges. It's still $5.88 for anything on your pizza and it's served piping hot within 10 minutes (usually faster). It's the speed of Jimmy Johns + the price of Subway except in pizza form. Definitely a place you should try at least once. read more

Not bad! I was iffy when I first heard about it, but my group that went today all enjoyed their own custom pizzas. Some loaded up on the toppings that they don't charge extra for, while others went with the menu's classics. Everyone enjoyed their personal pizzas. The garlic strips are only okay - could be improved. read more

I stopped in the other day to grab some quick dinner before settling in to homework. I ordered a "Lucy Sunshine" pizza, which was a vegetarian pizza with white sauce. It was quick, crisp, tasty, and inexpensive. Sure, this place has a definite undergrad kind of vibe, but I thought MOD had a great li'l personal pizza for the price. MOD Pizza is the best! I work for a rival pizza company and love this place. You can build endless combinations of pizzas, salads, or both (seriously anything you want)! They have delicious milkshakes AND cheap pitchers. Get to the register and it is less then $10. Mmm..mouth watering now. The employees are super friendly and very helpful to new customers. Mod is a great spot to hangout, they even have an outdoor patio. read more

Established in 2008.

When Scott and Ally Svenson founded MOD Pizza in 2008, they knew the last thing the world needed was another pizza place. In their hometown of Seattle, they imagined a new way for people to enjoy pizza, by bringing speed, individual style and value to one of America’s favorite foods. But the real secret sauce wouldn’t be the product, it would be the people who serve our communities — the MOD Squad. By taking care of employees, they would take care of the customers, and the business would take care of itself. It’s how we’ve built a culture of opportunity, belonging and community for the past 13 years, and it’s catching on wholeheartedly.

Jalapeño Business (4/5): I liked how unique this bowl was. The use of raw chopped jalapeños gives it a fiery kick, while the Tilllamook white cheddar adds a nutty and salty creaminess with a Pacific Northwest flair. The pickled red onions add the acidity, while the black beans, chicken, and jasmine rice provide the body to make this bowl quite filling. A huge plus - the Seattle Fog was probably the best "London" fog I've ever had !!! Bravo. Not sure I'll come back again this visit. Honestly, with how busy this location is with all the hungry and exhausted college students (for example, me), there is usually always a 10-20 min wait depending on how busy the location is. The one thing I love about MOD is that you can customize everything to your liking, and the prices are pretty reasonable with the amount of toppings you can request on your pizza. I actually ordered a "MOD" size pizza and honestly I was able to eat the whole thing in seconds bc of how hungry I was, but the size is also pretty adequate for even one person. I'm a small asian girl, so if you're a guy, I'd order two MOD size pizzas or just order a larger size pizza if you are just as hungry as I was ;) The crust itself is pretty thin, so just be ready for some c r u n c h action bc of the lack of softness. I went here during lunch rush so my fault for that, took about 35 minutes before I was able to order. The pizza was good, but was expecting them to put sauce all over the pizza, but they left like a 3 inch space for crust. I asked the guy to put more sauce to fill it up and he seemed irritated/annoyed. I asked how his day was going he seemed confused why I was asking, just trying to make small talk so it's not awkward and seemed like he was having a bad day. Delicious pizza - almost (if not quite as superlative) as Via Tribunali's. Certainly better than Veraci's. The simple Margherita pizza is our favorite; some of the pizzas, including many of the daily specials, come with toppings which overwhelm the delicacy of the crust. This is a clever twist on pizza and it kind of reminds me of subway just with pizzas. You can modify it any way you want or you can choose a pre selected menu item and top it how you want. All for like 7 bucks. Pretty good pie for 7 bucks. They were a bit frantic about me just walking in to use the bathroom, but I can understand the paranoia because of their proximity to the college.
