I was able to find metered parking right around the store so that was not an issue. The restaurant itself isn't too big, but had enough tables and was very clean and organized. I was able to pick up my order with away without any issues. I ordered the power bowl with Salmon. It came with a piece of bread which I wish could have been warmer. I've been coming here regularly for takeout lunch, easily spending hundreds of dollars over the past few months. I love the health-conscious nature of the food. But what I saw today "behind the scenes" makes me afraid to come back again: they're inserting the take-out receipts directly into the food bowls while making our meals. These types of receipts usually contain chemicals like BPA, which are known to be harmful to human health. In the EU, there's an outright ban on BPA in food contact materials. Business was steady. Almost all takeoout, while I ate in. Which brings me to why I would write a review after only one meal. This place is filthy. I've eaten at Sweetgreen locations all over the country, and the franchise should be embarrassed by the condition of this restaurant. Every table was dirty, despite the dining area being completely empty. I asked a staff member for something to wipe down a table and was handed a napkin instead. I then went to get a glass of water, only to find there were no cups available. When we went to throw out our trash the trash can was overflowing. I want to be clear that the restaurant was not busy at the time, nor was it for the 45 minutes we were there, so this didn't appear to be a staffing or rush-hour issue. It boasts of blackened chicken but I would really go as far as describing it to well cooked seasoned chicken. Not complaining but the visuals compared to the photos were a little off. Nevertheless this bowl is really good!! The chicken was super flavorful, kinda southwest style, and the purple cabbage slaw was cold and crunchy, not too heavy on the cream and evenly dressed. I really liked the crispy onions with the wild rice and the hot honey mustard brought everything together. If you're not a salad person this might be the option for you! It was hearty, tasty and I felt good eating such a balanced meal. I just know I won't be risking any digestive issues compared to other lunch options I might have lol. So excited there's a sweetgreen in Capitol Hill now! I had only been to a location in LA, so was excited to see a few locations sprouting up around Seattle. Everything is unexpectedly self service, but ordering is easy and service was super fast, thanks to the "Infinite Kitchen." Inside seating is somewhat limited, mainly because the kitchen/salad maker seems to take up a ton of space. It's entertaining to watch all of the salads being made and mixed as you wait. Salads and bowls were reasonably priced, as the portions are pretty big. With the addition of the bread (which is pretty plain on its own), one salad could easily be split into two meals, imo. Tried the chicken avocado ranch salad which was pretty good! They give you an entire half of an avocado!! It inexplicably had a scoop of white rice in it, so it felt extra filling. Looking forward to trying a more traditional type of salad next time. Even though you aren't ordering from an employee, everyone seemed very welcoming! read more

I whole heartedly agree with the ratings on this location. I popped in because I was coworking with creators across the street and needed a quick to go food situation that wasn't full of grease. All the girlies raved about this place but I was a tad underwhelmed. I love a good Cobb salad but it was really hard for me to narrow down a salad choice this go. I settled on the Buffalo chicken bc it was considered high protein. Im not a fan of kale and this bad boy was loaded with it. I didn't really taste any specific flavors that made it stand out as a Buffalo chicken. It was just wet tasting. I went ahead and ate as much of it as I could. The kiosk are self serve so you put in your own order and the credit card option never registered and they were pretty busy calling out orders but it was a known issue you had to press cash and wait to have staff ring you out. Not really a promising start to finish operation. It's all fairly young staff so the overarching need to give you a heads up lacks. But the salad came out pretty quick just a few front of the house service issues but overall ok. Not my fave salad at all. read more

I had the harvest salad with chicken and thought it was a pretty mundane salad. It came with little to no dressing, the greens were wilted, and the chicken tasted funny... it tasted like processed meat. The pictures online do not look like anything you get in real life. I was really loving Sweetgreen and was there at least once a week. But then things seemed to go wrong. Last week my usual Hummus Crunch was lacking cucumbers, which is fine because they posted that ahead of time, but then they told me after I'd paid there were no breadcrumbs. So no breadcrumbs and I still paid the full amount. Today I slogged down there in the pouring rain, picked up my Hummus Crunch and left. I got home, opened my bowl and I have no clue what I got. It's loaded with beef or chicken, which I don't eat, it's got carrots and it's absolutely dripping in salad dressing. Plus there's two more containers of dressing and a container of hummus on top. What a mess. I'm super disappointed. I don't have time to go back and the rain is really coming down. There went $15 down the drain. I work in Capitol Hill so I'm excited to have another fast, healthy take-out option for lunch. I checked out the menu online first and the online menu makes it very easy to select allergens you may want to avoid and flags the items that contain those ingredients. The touch screens in store also make it really easy to customize your order. You can even choose if you want the dressing on the side or mixed in. The process of ordering & paying was super quick and easy, no human interaction required so it's perfect if you're an introvert. There were a lot of orders coming out ahead of mine, but the wait wasn't long. The Infinite Kitchen came as a surprise. I wasn't expecting a robot to make my lunch, but it was kind of cool to watch and l would imagine the dispensers probably cut down on cross contamination if you have food allergies/sensitivities. The food was tasty and healthy, exactly what I was looking for. When my food was ready, the warm ingredients were warm and the leafy greens and raw veggies were on top so they didn't get cooked or soggy. It's a large portion and most of the bowls have a mix of veggies, carbs and protein so it's very satisfying. Looking forward to going again soon and trying other menu items.
