My main issues with this location have been the customer service and incredibly long wait times. The food has actually been okay, and my orders have all been correct. It seems like they just don't have enough qualified staff to keep up with demands, either in The Dalles or in Hood River. But The Dalles does have at least one skilled full-time employee in the drive-through. So, keeping that in mind, my overall opinion is that, for an Oregon Taco Bell, this one is pretty okay, but it would be great if they could find a way to attract and maintain enough qualified staff to keep it running properly.

(But, for the record, Loncheria Jalisco is actually better than the other place, anyway.) Loncheria Jalisco is at 6th Street Station, which is an extremely small food cart mall with only about six pods. Most of the pods are closed most of the time, so most of the people eating here are coming for one specific cart. There is a very small central brick and mortar building with indoor seating which sells drinks and alcohol. I haven't personally been inside the building, but it looks a lot well better insulated than some of the others I've seen. It actually looks like a converted Wendy's. The first time I came here, I just ordered one sope. The second time, I ordered two. The sopes are a bit on the small side, but so is the price, at only $4. On top of the shell, they come with beans, meat, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, avocado sauce (more like blended avocado/lime/cilantro than guacamole), cheese, and more salsa (on the side). Even though the guacamole was not quite guacamole, the flavor was fire. It was actually the perfect consistency for the sope. Once I added the tomatillo salsa, the flavors exploded. I had salsa dripping all over my hands, and didn't even care. It was so good. The cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream were all super fresh. The beans and meat were done right. While this wasn't the most impressive carne asada I've ever had, it was pretty decent for a fast food truck. These sopes were as good as I would expect to find from a food truck in Sacramento. Based on reputation, I didn't expect there to be much great Mexican food in Oregon, but I've been proven wrong. Prices are very reasonable-- maybe too reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised if they go up a little bit. I love this place and would definitely come back again. I'm hoping to try their fajita burrito one of these days, if I can get there before they sell out. (Last time, they had sold out by 3!)

I first tried MOD Pizza at PDX and was stoked when I heard they were coming to The Dalles. I now eat there regularly because they offer excellent and affordable pizza made to my preferences. Only $8.27 for an 11 inch thin crust pizza with UNLIMITED toppings. You can get thick crust for $2 more. First, you chose your sauce (red, white, or barbecue). I generally go with the red sauce. The barbecue sauce is a little too sweet for my taste. Then you select your toppings from a wide array of meats and veggies. Besides the typical toppings like pepperoni and sausage, they offer anchovies, roasted broccoli, roasted corn, etc. You can also add oregano and rosemary. After they bake your pizza, you can add a finishing sauce, such as ranch, honey, pesto, balsamic fig glaze, sriracha, etc. In essence, your pizza will be exactly the way you want it. They are super fast with very friendly service. read more

I was in for the first time last week, my experience went well until I seen a young man come forward to talk to me, perhaps it was about the pizza I was about to order. I immediately grabbed my 6 year old daughters hand and rushed out of there. Now a little into my private life we ago; roughly three years ago my nephew, my friends little brother and the same man who came towards me at MOD were at the pool; that man, Koby, who you employ attempted to sexually abuse my friends little brother! Friendly people and quick service go hand in hand when you're hungry right now. It's quite refreshing to walk into an establishment and have the staff just as eager as you about the pizza you're about to shove down the gullet in glee. Pizza! But for real, the staff are super nice and helpful with creating the perfect pie. A bonus that its super clean -never seen anything less here- but its the people that make the experience the best. This was one of the most disappointing pizzas I have ever had. Kind of like a piece of pita bread with tomato sauce and cheese on top. Certainly not Lombardi's Pizzeria. I guess it's nice to have a new pizza place in town but I think the product should be edible. read more
