We came here for lunch this week and had a great visit. The ambiance is nice - laid back and had a good amount of patrons without being too noisy. The food was pretty good - I really liked the cheese bread! The mod pizzas are usually pretty consistent, but the cheese bread seemed better than before. Service was also great. They made the pizzas quickly and were patient while our kids ordered. They had an accident in the oven with my pizza and they were quick to get me back in the oven with a fresh one. To take care of the delay they gave me a small salad. That was something that really made the visit. Small gesture that resulted in me getting to happily enjoy food with my family versus sitting there while everyone else ate. I really appreciate that service and decision. This place is pretty good! I have never been a hard-core pizza lover... tastes great when I'm eating it, but it is so heavy and easy to over eat... but you don't have to worry about that with mod. The thin crust is delightful! We've been about 6 times in the last 3 months and the crust has always been crispy--a wonderfully satisfying crunch-mobile for all of the awesome toppings we choose. I love that you can build your own pizza with as little or much as you want without upcharging by the topping. I love that they sell a few local beers on tap. I love the deals that are constantly available if you download the app (totally hate the functionality of the app, though). There is almost always a line, but it usually goes reasonably quickly. And thanks to the thinness of the pizza, your order is up pretty quickly too. I leave satisfied but not stuffed to the gills, which is lovely. Customer service isn't bad. There are a couple of grumpy bunnies that get a little brusque and huffy when it's busy, but they aren't rude. If you order a beer, be prepared for a short wait while the under-21 employees jostle around to find a manager who can pour. read more

Pickup was slow. I stood under the Pickup Here sign an was ignored for several minutes. Then a nearby customer had an accidet and spilled her salad everywhere. Another pickup order customer and I gave up and went to the pickup shelves fr our orders and were sternly asked by the employee cleaning up the mess if we had pickups. Obviously we did. She helped us but I think she would've let her us stand there while she cleaned up the salad on the floor. Not the best customer service experience. This spot is great for vegans because they also offer vegan cheese. We were the first ones there when they opened and order 3 MOD sizes. They couldn't find our order and then the cashier rudely kept telling my mom that she never took her order or remembered her. It wasn't until I came over to see what was going that the cashier asked what happened. The cashier was rude and flustered and made us feel that it was our fault for their miscommunication. Solid little pizza shop. I like MOD for a quick lunch and it's nice that everyone can "build their own" pie and enjoy it. There are several suggested items on their menu and you can add / remove toppings as you see fit. This location serves beer, they have a wide variety of soda, and they also have a few different brewed teas and lemonades that were refreshing. Friendly staff at this location, clean dining room, and the prep area was in great shape too. I'm sure it's not easy to keep a spot like that clean but the team was doing a good job of it. I love MOD pizza places, so I knew what I was getting into when I decided to stop in at this location, just off the 5 freeway. I was heading north on the 5 towards Redding and the timing was just right for lunch. I like MOD better than all the rest of the fast build you own pizza places, like Blaze or Pieolgy. The pizza actually just tastes better, no it's not like a gourmet high end pizza place, but the pizzas aren't $20+ either. Just $8.75 gets you UNLIMITED toppings that you pick as you go thru the line. Just tell the friendly server what you want on your pizza and if they don't put enough, just tell them more please, and they are happy to put on more. Just don't get carried away, otherwise you'll end up with a soggy pizza. We came here and ordered as usual. I like all the store operate the same, so if you've been to one, you can go to any other and you'll feel at home. If you want extra crispy crust, just tell them and it's done. In 5 minutes or so, they'll call your name and your pizza us done! Get the pesto sauce, it's really good. Even take some home to put on pasta! Every time I go, my pizza is a little different from the last as I just see toppings and say what I want off the top of my head. If don't want to figure out all the toppings, just order off the menu one of the already named pizzas. Beer and wine are available as well as sodas. I like that they have the to go boxes for leftovers out by the forks and spoons, so you don't have to bother the staff for that stuff. read more

I came here to wait out traffic before heading back to Sac. after having to make a trip to the DMV out here in Woodland. I have heard of MOD pizza as there was a recent addition of one near IKEA in West Sac. Until now, I don't recall trying one before. Other similar BYO pizza spots are Pieology, Blaze etc. The 20 something that made my pie was nice and informative. I basically got a kichen sink with all the meats, few cheeses, shrooms, olives, chokes, kalamat olive mix, 4 veggies. Man, she piled it like a mountain and had the toppings rain! After baking, the guy who manned that station asked if I wanted sauces. I left it to him to enlighten me. He gave me a sriracha/ranch combo and fig (balsamic vinegar based). Neither was that good. Seriously, the pizza was good sans the sauces. I did add red pepper flakes and sriracha for a tad of heat but since I eat off tha charts haaaawwwtt, this did zippo for me. Haha. The pizza was light and thin but heavy to pick up due to my choice of topps. You can get a thick crust but you have to add $3 more for that. The pizza was tasty and filling with the topps tasting very fresh. Iam satisfied in the taste, value, price and customer service of this location of MOD. Iam now a MOD fan! Only one I have not tried that we have in the greater Sac area is Blaze Pizza. I like MOD more than Pieology as the quality of ingredients are better. Pizza Press may have the best tasting toppings but costs more. MOD is the best pound-for-pound champ of price/quality combo! read more

First time at this location out here. I've only been to one other MOD location but it was awhile back. Pros: place is pretty clean and the pizza is ok. The portions are good. I ordered the garlic strips and a medium pizza. I liked their sir-rancha sauce, it had a good mix of Siracha and ranch. Cons: the staff here are not friendly. The woman that helped us in the beginning started to get annoyed when we were ordering. I ordered the garlic strips with sir-rancha sauce and a medium pizza but somehow she heard that I wanted a medium pizza with sir-rancha sauce. When I clarified, she gave a bit of attitude while responding. The other staff weren't friendly, just stood around and talked to each other. When we left and said thank you and goodbye, the staff ignored us and continued to talk to each other. As for the pizza, the crust came out a bit burned, which I didn't like. Probably will go to another location since the staff here are pretty terrible. I most likely won't be back. read more

Out of all the fast, oven fired pizza joints, MOD is up at the top for me along with Blaze. Blast and Pieology are my least faves. First time at a MOD was at an elite Yelp event in Rocklin. This location is in the same complex as Sourdough & Co, across from the Dignity Health Clinic by Costco. Some days I want a Mad Dog (all meat base) but this most recent visit got a Lucy Sunshine with some add-ons and a cream soda. MOD sized pizza hits the spot, and BYO or additional toppings on a signature menu pizza are the same price. They do offer milkshakes and small cakes for dessert but nothing oven fired. I like the salad option on top of the pizza crust. Crew super nice and friendly. Props to the evening crew rocking their sunglasses and cool hats (In Dog Years, I'm Dead was our favorite, so funny!) I really enjoyed Mod Pizza! I've had the 'make your own' style for years now, but am glad Woodland has one of these pizza places to call its own. At Mod Pizza you create your pizza as you walk down the case of ingredients. It's sort of like building your burrito at Chipotle or creating your Subway sandwich. There are a lot of delicious ingredients to choose from so that the pizza you end up with is exactly the one you want. This way of customizing a pizza is really appealing and fun. The pizzas don't take long to bake and come out pipping hot and fresh. It's best to eat it right away. If you choose to eat in, you'll enjoy a clean and modern atmosphere. The dining room has ample space. For those wanting a thicker crust, you'll be out of luck as Mod Pizza's pizzas are thin crust. Thy have a very crisp texture to them.
