BUT let me tell you that MOD pizza goes above and beyond in their customer service! The manager himself checked in with us and asked how we were doing, and actually engaged in conversation (shocking!). He thinks the idea was great to have a very quickly prepared and baked pizza hot and ready to eat in minutes especially since you get to pick every topping and there is no up charge! It may not have as many choices in the crust but the thin crust is my favorite and the thicker crust is his so it all works out! The pizzas are good and there is plenty of seating. However, the workers don't look happy at all. I was paying for my order and asked if I could add some cheese bread the cashier said yes I just needed to let the pizza makers know. A family of 10-15 people walked in and were busy talking at the front area near the menus while I went and asked if I could get a cheese bread. The young lady said I would need to go around because people were ordering. I said no they're talking to each other they aren't ready she said I would still need to wait for them to order. I've gone to many many MOD pizza's, but this was the first one I went to in this area. The service and pizza was great! The workers were social and talked to me and they did not judge me for putting on THAT many peperoni's. I also asked them to keep it baking for a little longer then most peoples because I like mine to be extra crunchy. They said yes, and when I got my pizza it was indeed crunchy! I don't live in this area nor do I ever come through this area often but I would definitely recommended coming here for anyone who wants good service and good pizza. :) read more

Mod is like a drop of water in the sea of the build-your-own-pizza empire. While you do get quite a bang for your buck, Mod does not appear to differentiate itself from its competitors (pieology, blaze) in any way. The process is largely the same - you pick your cheese, sauce, toppings and they bake it for you. In fact, the whole setup is literally the same as blaze pizza minus the option for thick crusts. Their toppings are almost IDENTICAL (or more of a subset of blaze) but I guess pizza toppings only go so far. I would've given Mod a 4/5 as a decent build your own pizza place if it weren't for the following shortcomings: -Pizza slices were sliced rather large and unproportional, making it a bit difficult to eat your pizza when the slice is twice the size of your hand. -Ingredients weren't very fresh. The pizza kinda tasted like a reheated pizza from Blaze. Not exactly horrible but unsatisfactory given the plethora of pizza places. -Service was a little hit or miss. Some of the staff were great but others were quite sloppy and would forget what you said a few seconds ago or overdo a certain topping.. If you're around the area because of Costco, you might as we just get pizza there, which in my opinion tastes about the same. read more

We had went to the one in Bellevue, Washington and had a similar experience. If you never have been to Mod, the pizza is made to specification while going through the line. I ordered a mod size pizza and shared with my husband. It was a perfect size for a late night snack. The best part was each half was made to order for each of us, respectively. I love anchovies and my husband does not. I hate onions and my husband loves them. There is no limit to the toppings; however, sometimes less is more. We started with a Dominic as base and added a couple of extra ingredients. It was perfect. We stopped by late on a Sunday night at 9:36. They smiled and the whole crew stopped what they were doing just to help us. The restaurant closes at 10. Coming back from a weekend in the mountains, I was looking for a quick place to eat. On the way out we'd stopped at El Pollo Loco for seriously mediocre food that took 45 minutes to get and eat. Tried this location again in hopes it improved over time but sadly no luck. The staff has limited communication skills with customers for this style of restaurant. They spent more energy ignoring the customers which slowed down the process by each customer having to repeat their order. They would have more time to chat with each other by taking care of their customers first. Only one server making pizza for in-house and app orders. Causing customers already waiting in line to wait longer. Lots of sloppy cross contamination of food products. I asked for no garlic and when I got home my pizza was covered with raw garlic. The crust was like burnt leather and toppings cold. This place is not worth the time or money. Try to hire less malicious people for food service if possible. The West Sacramento location is more organized with better food and clean if you're in the area. Or try Blaze Pizza instead. read more

We intended to get to go Pizza for lunch at Mod today, it has been our local favorite in the past. Today as we went to walk in we found that the vast majority of customers in line were both unmasked, completely disregarding social distancing standards, and the restaurant was packed for lunch rush with no tables cordoned off to distance seated customers or to provide a social distancing buffer for the customers in line. I can understand employees at the restaurant not wanting to tell customers what to do and worrying about losing business by doing so. Unfortunately at our current pandemic state will certainly not be returning to Mod in the foreseeable future and if my experience today is at all typical of the COVID controls in place I would caution anyone else to stay away as well. This saddens me greatly as the adherence to county guidelines during lockdown were always very impressive and the quality of food and upbeat employees has always made Mod a great place to eat. With case rates what they are and how easy Delta is to spread wirh what I whitnessed today I would not currently recommend walking inside the restaurant to pick up to go orders. read more

Had a great pizza at MOD today! I was concerned about the size of the line but they actually moved through it really well, especially at prime lunch time. Would of appreciated the cheat sheet which they were out to help with pre-picking toppings but I just looked at their website to make it easy. The crust was really good and all of the toppings we got were really tasty. They threw in a free order of cheese sticks, I think it was a misfire or something, but they were kind of dry and not great.
