This review is for a "virtual restaurant", called "Halal twist", which is run out of the pizza twist location in Woodland. You order through one of the meal services such as DoorDash. I got into my hotel late and didn't want to go out. Perusing through DoorDash, I found this place. I ordered the. Halal shahi pasta twist. It has butter sauce, masala, paneer, red onion, fresh cut garlic, ginger, and cilantro. It spicy with green chilies, but I had that left off. The order also came with a couple of packets of Parmesan cheese. I called the restaurant after I ordered, and asked them to include plastic silverware and napkins. The silverware came, but the napkins did not. The order comes quick, and it was overall very good. They were generous with the toppings, and I really liked the Indian flavor. The toppings played very well with each other. It had just a tiny bit of a spice to it, just enough that I noticed. The only thing I could possibly say is that I thought the pasta was just a little bit too, al dente for my personal taste. Other than that, it was great. I had enough for dinner, and breakfast the next morning. I would order from here again. Thank you

This place is about to be 1 year anniversary on October 28th 2025. Mark this calendar date on your calendar for their 1 year anniversary party with special price and special gifts. . they do have happy hour from Monday to Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. . on taco Tuesdays they do have a special menu where there is five tacos and one beer for $9.99. . They also have specials on Monday through Friday with 10 wings and a beer for $9.99 as well. . I got to try there a achari chicken pizza which was really flavorful and there was a really nice cheese pull and they are really generous with the topping. The size small was pretty big and serves about two people. . They also have a big menu for pizza with serving your classic combination to Indian Fusion Pizza. Also they do have Indian Fusion Pizza sticks as well. . The Ambiance inside is very casual and they do have lots of seating and it is perfect for having a dinner or gathering with friends. . The service here was friendly and very welcoming. And they were very informative with letting me know when I asked about a certain dish where they also tell you what's in it and how they make it. I find the prices here very reasonable and it is definitely a spot that I will come back and try out all the other Indian Fusion dishes and I can't wait to come back for more food. Hope this helps and thanks for reading and have a yelp-tastic day. Let me know where your favorite Indian Fusion restaurants are in the Woodland area that I should check out.

Just wanted to update the review as there was paneer in the curry, just not enough or that visible. The paneer on the pizza was really small and not enough. But because they got the curry right still, decided I can bump the review up.

Hmmm.... This is probably a Me Problem, but I guess I keep coming back to "Why?" I suspect this could be an excellent Indian restaurant, but it's almost like it takes on too much. Tacos and Pizza with traditional Indian meats and Naan pizza? Kinda seems silly to be honest. It's three storefronts, but one merged interior. Why? The Indian food was excellent. My husband had one of the non-curry combo plates, I believe it was called the monster. Everything about it was delicious. I had one of the pizza twists. It was good--really really different. Everyone who works here is lovely and so incredibly helpful. I was rather lost when I came in and less than enthusiastic initially, but they took us through the entire menu and answered all of our questions. There was definitely some confusion in orders, hours and a few others, but they are just opening so that's understandable. Here's the TL;DR: unless you are really adventurous, Come here for the Indian food. It's excellent. I just can't dig the twist thing. They're trying to do too much. Pizza, pasta, tacos, shakes, coffee, curry... And a lot of it really seriously mixed together. It's a lot! And a little strange. I'll be back...for a curry plate!

    Oily flavorless naan.

Amelia recommended one pasta dish per person in the party, to share family style (which ended up working well for us, since we also got three appetizers, and finished the meal with a small amount of yummy leftovers for tomorrow) so that's what we did, along with the starters... We got the "big juicy meatballs with tomato and pancetta," which were incredible; the bread was delicious and certainly is not just a side to the amazing (definitely juicy) herbed tender meatballs. I'd definitely get this again, along with the grilled zucchini with worm salt and mint, which was so flavorful and tasty. We also got the smokey romano beans with fire roasted tomato, which was also really good but just keep in mind the emphasis on the smokey flavor! It wasn't my cup of tea but that's for sure a personal thing. For pastas, I'd rank them in this order: 1. our favorite was today's lasagna du jour, which was mushroom! So delicious, with a crispy cheesy crust, soft tender interior, and an almost caramelized tomato sauce accompanying. 2. Reginette with pork sugo (meat sauce) and spicy turnip greens was next, which had wonderful flavor with the tomato-based sauce and pieces of pork but if you like it slightly softer texture it might not be for you (same with the fusilli; the go-to preparation is aldente!). 3. Fusilli alla vodka with tomato, calabrian chili, cream, basil, and added garlic butter shrimps; this one's sauce felt a little underwhelming and more watery than creamy, and I'm just now realizing that although the menu said four garlic butter shrimp (an extra $7), we only got three. I think I'd come back for the lasagna and/or to buy the pasta from their expansive stock, cook it a bit longer, and serve it covered in a decadent creamy sauce.

The Standouts: * Oh my goodness get that octopus dish back in my mouth. Wow, I can't describe adequately the unique texture they were able to get on it, with a crispy exterior and tender interior. There was a generous helping of garlic sauce which came with it and the potatoes that were on the side were also fantastic. Easily the best dish of the night. * The Ravioli was also delicious. It comes with a herby, earthy pesto on top and a delightful balance of cheese filling. * Lovely selection of Italian drinks including alcoholic and NA options * Interesting bruschetta flight - 4 pieces of toast each with a different type of topping. The onion Jam and pesto ones stood out to me. The Improvement Points: * The AC was not working very well when we were there. It got pretty toasty in the dining room given that it was a Sacramento summer day. I would love to see the AC back up and running next time. * The Carbonara, while nice, was not a standout in my opinion. They have a carbonara, they do it well enough, but nothing particularly special - light on the guanciale. * Location is certainly loud. Just the way the dining room is designed, no problem with the experience. Just be prepared to listen and speak up a little for dinner.

The inside was pillow-y soft, and when mixed with the salsa verde was full of flavor with a fabulous punch of garlic. The salsa verde could be put over a nice flank steak and it would absolutely kill. That said, the octopus was a bit *too* crispy. I felt I had to really chew to get it down, and I just wanted a nice snappy skin for some textural juxtaposition. For my entree, I got the Bolognese which was definitely full of salt. The pasta was wonderfully thin and bouncy, but I feel the chef may have had an off-day. My friend and I had to down like multiple cups of water with our meal which made it hard to enjoy. Plus, the garlic bread felt like biting into a brick. The inside was quite fluffy and soft, but the crust was simply too crispy. I almost felt like my teeth were going to give way. Honestly, I can't in good faith recommend this place to my friends, so neither would I recommend it to you. (aside from the pasta classes)
