Grainless Carrot Muffin (DF) and mother matcha bad photo but amazing food!

modern bread and bagel is a hidden gem on montana avenue. the grainless carrot muffin is my absolute favorite! that's the only pastry i get there. i just tried the mother matcha with coconut milk and spirulina and it's unmatched! the server was very kind to me! the store is not designed too well, but it's so good!!! i like there display of food!

If you are looking for gluten free options you've come to the right place. Service is very friendly and knowledgeable. We got the GF glazed donut that they put in a bag instead of a box and the icing stuck all over the bag instead of the donut. The donut was pretty dry inside as well. We also got the everything GF bagel which was better than the donut. I don't think this will be a place I frequent too often as the gluten free is not really my vibe.

Ordered online and it was an easy process. Store was cute, a little small but had some seating! Didn't realize they had that much bakery stuff but it all looked so good. I got a bagel sandwich with eggs avocado arugula and sun dried tomato. Very very good, bagels were not the BEST but the sandwich was great. Would come here again to try pastries.

Great spot for gluten-free bagels and pastries! They have a large selection of bagels and sweet treats, and they even have some homemade cream cheeses. I also tried their iced coffee, I got the limited edition Tiramisu latte and it was soo delicious. It was a bit pricy though, I think I spent almost $9 on just a regular sized coffee. Overall a cute spot, definitely check it out if you're looking for a gluten-free bagel place!

The bagels themselves were honestly impressive. If I hadn't known they were gluten-free, I probably wouldn't have guessed. The texture and flavor were surprisingly close to a regular bagel. We ordered the Greenlight Bagel, the Avo & Smoke, and for drinks the Raspberry Matcha Latte and Cookies & Cream Latte. The Greenlight Bagel was my least favorite. There was an overwhelming amount of dried dill and garlic. If you're a big garlic fan, you'll probably love it, but for me it completely overpowered the other flavors. The Avo & Smoke was decent, but I was disappointed by the amount of salmon. The slices were extremely thin. The drinks were actually really good!! I normally don't enjoy HOT matcha lattes, but the Raspberry Matcha Latte was surprisingly delicious. The Cookies & Cream Latte was also very good and not overly sweet, which I appreciated One thing that really stood out was the service. Everyone was friendly and attentive, our order was taken quickly, and the food and drinks came out surprisingly fast. The atmosphere was cozy and calm. Overall, I left with mixed feelings

Amazing place! My wife is celiac so I always look for a place to get her something that we can share on a Sunday. Some places have a few items here and there, but this store is completely gluten free! Cookies, bagels, cakes and bread! I got a couple bagels, a donut, a slice of Baka bread and a brioche loaf. A bit pricier than normal bakery, but I've cooked gluten free pastries at home. The ingredients aren't cheap! My wife loved it!! Definitely will be back!

I wanted to love it. Do not. These bagels are incredibly dense. And hard. Not to my liking. I realize some people like them big and extra firm. For bagels I prefer a more airy boil/bake, softer texture, less dense (and smaller is fine). The bagel softened up a little bit when I threw it in the oven at home. It's a good looking shop and the staff were lovely.

4.5 bit rounding up to 5! Obviously, this is a GF fever dream come true. Pop tarts, bagels, breads, donuts, MORE BREADS! Per usual, I blacked out and ordered a challah, focaccia, parm roll, chocolate rolly thing, Jerusalem Egg sando, spicy feta open face sando, oat milk latte, and their version of a PSL (which was too sweet for me but my partner loved). I waanntt to call 911 to report a crime against me by not having a croissant or pain au chocolat, but I'll hold the phone bc everything was so yummy! The Jerusalem sando was so fresh and delicious on a brioche roll. As I'm writing, I'm lamenting my poor decision to not get a pop tart, but there's always next time. Eat in the alley/breezeway for a tiny escape off the bustlin street. Clean bathroom and pleasant (not warm) customer service.

I think for brunch for four of us I spent almost $200 (treating my three twenty-something kids). - million dollar bacon - 5/5, and paid a lot for that bacon! - spinach scramble - 4/5, downgraded because it was $25 for my scramble that wasn't anything super special - Korean fried chicken - 4/5 solid offering - Chicken sandwich - 4/5, solid sandwich and again $25! - Special croffle of some sort - 4/5 Although the food was good, it wasn't worth the $200 for breakfast for four! and I thought the location was going to be cute in Santa Monica but is a rather sterile restaurant on a busy street not on/near the beach. So there's that too.

I used to go to the location on Montana back in the day, and this is my first time visiting their downtown SM location! The waiter was also extremely accommodating of my many allergies and would often ask the kitchen if the items I ordered were free from my allergens or modified it too! I do miss their cafe menu with the sandwiches and soup specials, but all of their food is just as great quality as I remember! The renovation is beautiful too, very trendy!

A little on the watery side. Chicken bites came out in about 15 minutes. The coating had a very satisfying crunch, very saucy, but fell off the chicken easily and was a bit salty. This is a messy dish for sure. You will get your hands dirty! Chorizo Benedict came out about 30 minutes after order. Not great honestly. Portion size was generous. The eggs were poached decently, still runny, but the chorizo itself was bland and rather dry. The potatoes were room temperature. The bread a bit too chewy. Not AT ALL spicy. Super light on the pico de gallo. The service was rather slow for not being very busy. They didn't appear to be understaffed either. The location itself is cozy and not too loud, which is nice! Short walk from down town. The staff was kind, but boy were they slow. From being seated to paying for my meal was well over an hour! Automatic 2.5% "service fee" total was $46.50 before tip. I don't think I'll be returning unfortunately. The search for a good Benedict in LA area continues!
