I've been meaning to try Bagel Nosh Deli for ages, but my schedule usually brings me to Santa Monica well after their 2:30 PM closing time. I was finally in the area early enough to grab breakfast, and I'm so glad I did--this is easily one of the best spots for an early morning meal on the Westside. I've visited a few times now, and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese breakfast bagel on a Jalapeño Cheddar bagel is fantastic. It's absolutely packed with jalapeños and loaded with cheese--it really hits the spot. The bagel itself is the star of the show: perfectly toasted, dense, and satisfyingly chewy yet soft. The eggs are cooked well, and the bacon is always perfectly crispy. On my second visit, I tried the Garlic and Onion bagel, which was also excellent. I've sampled a variety of their options, including salt, egg, and everything bagels, and every single one has been consistent in quality.I also picked up some bagels to-go for my son. Although he wasn't feeling well enough to eat them, my co-workers were more than happy to enjoy them instead! OUTSTANDING bagels! I ended up ordering the lox bagel w/everything, on an Everything bagel. It was incredibly fresh & delicious! It even came with a side pickle & carrots. It was served open-faced, which was a new experience & packaged perfectly for me to enjoy while on the go in the car. I wasn't expecting to pay $19 and it's understandable after appreciating every single bite! I felt pretty content from the sandwich and recall having a very light meal that evening. Bagel Nosh Deli has been an OG spot for bagels in Santa Monica for 40+ years. There is fierce competition for bagel spots in LA the past few years and unfortunately this does not make the cut. They're a block away from the UCLA Medical Plaza and makes convenient spot to pick up food during appointments. For the food: The bagels are dense and doughy. The Bacon Egg and Cheese and Strawberry Cream Cheese Bagels were both heavy and chewy. If you need a snack, skip the bagels and try something else. read more

Stopped in for my first time today and I was really impressed. I thought it was just a bagel shop, but it is honestly more of a deli and bagel shop hybrid. Basically you order at the counter and being that I was there for breakfast I was surprised to see a lot of breakfast options like pancakes, but I especially liked how most of the dishes included a bagel with it, which is what I was there for initially. I was able to find free parking in their tiny lot in the back, otherwise it will be street parking. It was quite busy when I arrived, but our food came out surprisingly fast after ordering it, and the staff was very friendly. Inside is quite large, there are many different size tables, no booths or counter seating, it is all regular sized tables. I did not see an outdoor eating area when I was there, everything was inside. For my breakfast, I chose an omelette, and with that it came with a bagel, so I decided to go with a cheddar jalapeño and really liked it. It was packed with jalapeños, and you can tell it was made that morning. The omelette was also a good sized portion and had great flavor. It's not a full service restaurant in that they don't have waiters tending to you, however, they will bring the food out to your table, and the staff that I encountered was very friendly and helpful. So happy to see the sweet owner still working hard here greeting his customers. It wasn't that busy this weekend. Seems like many are out of town for July 4th weekend. Usually there is a line up outside. I have loved the bagels and selection here since 1998 and it's a must if you love bagels!! They put capers in my cream cheese which I didn't like and I wish I knew that's what it meant when you ordered capers. I usually get in on the side. Yuck not doing that again! Best bagel in locks ever. They know how to toast that bagel so it's perfect and the locks are the right temperature not too cold with the perfect amount of onions and capers. We would try to buy enough bagels to last until my next visit to UCLA. We would also buy their bagel chips. They are wonderful too. They last forever! When a family member was having a procedure at the UCLA medical center the block away, this bagel restaurant was the perfect place to grab breakfast while I waited. I was impressed to find that they also serve full breakfast - not just bagels! Although I did end up just getting bagels here and they were delicious! I got the everything bagel and it was fluffy on the inside and had toppings on BOTH sides which I love. I got it toasted with cream cheese and they were generous with the amount of cream cheese and they put it on both sides of the bagel. I also got a chocolate bagel with chocolate chips for my kids with strawberry cream cheese. I was super impressed that the strawberry cream cheese had actual chunks of real fresh strawberries in it! I ordered both bagels to go and I really liked that they put the bagels in their own respective to-go box. Both bagels were open faced side with the top along side the bottom of the bagel and then plastic wrap over the container. I also ordered bottles of their fresh squeezed orange juice (since a friend of mine ate her and said it was delicious) and it lived up to the high expectations because the orange juice was super good and you could tell it was fresh squeezed. If I had wanted to eat in they actually have a large dining room with plenty of seating. You order at the counter, pay at the next counter and then they bring your food to you at the tables (or call your name if you get it to go). My husband (African American)went to the restaurant for the first time, planning not just to order for himself and me, but also for several of my coworkers. While the staff were pleasant, he was made to feel very uncomfortable by an older Hispanic man standing at the register who stared at him intensely, as if suspecting he was going to rob the place. It's disappointing to be stereotyped in that way, especially when simply trying to support the business and do something kind for others. i have been going to this place for yrs ,the entire staff is awesome accept the grand son name Ryan , he treats all his employees bad and customers too , staff is quiet a they have known the owner for a long long time and i am sure they need a job , feel sorry for them . If you're missing the taste of a New York bagel or pastrami sandwich, this is the place to go! I got the whole-wheat everything bagel with chive cream cheese and it was delicious! My husband, a born and bred New Yorker got the pastrami sandwich and loved it! Portions aren't as huge as on the East Coast but you do get value for your money.
