Stopped in for my first time today and overall had a great experience and delicious bagel. The ordering system here is a little bit clunky and disorganized. Also after we ordered the guy at the register disappeared so we pretty much stood there for 10 minutes while the line built up until someone had to come over and check us out, aside from that experience was nice. Parking can be a bit tricky, but we were able to find a metered street spot directly in front of the restaurant and opted to get everything to go, but they do have many tables inside to sit down and eat so dining in is an option. The menu is pretty large and they have all sorts of bagel shop classic options on there. The staff was friendly and aside from waiting to pay everything that we ordered was made very quickly. For this visit, we chose the Lox bagel, the Avocado, Egg, & Cheese and the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Bagel. We also tried the Blueberry Bagel with the Cookie Cream Cheese, and that was especially sweet and fantastic. All of the bagels we ordered were fresh and each of the three were very good and we would definitely order them again. Overall, it was a good experience and I plan to be back again in the near future.

Bagel sandwich was very good. 5 stars for how they made it exactly like I wanted - a little butter on one side, a little cream cheese on the other, plus bacon and egg. Love that they use actual eggs vs folks who microwave their eggs -ew. Stars start coming off due to how long it took to make (after ordering) and the friendliness of the staff (low), not great selection of drinks (at least the coffee was good), and the pricing (high). I'd go back for sure, but honestly I would only go if I was too far from Hank's where they have more inventive bagels (I mean not having a Salt Bagel is kind of criminal, but I love the other cool flavors they have). The bagel itself was fine, not bad at all but a bit on the sweet side. Definitely go if you want to get a good sandwich.

I've been to H&H in New York and let me tell you this is sadly nothing like that. The bagels just taste way too dense. They are not light and fluffy or airy. With the cream cheese it's kind of a dense log. The sausage egg and cheese one was a bit better because of the contents. I will say though that the staff is so friendly!! Shoutout!

Found myself on Montana yesterday after gifting my 14 yo pal Gordy a birthday gift of Beatles Collectibles that blew his mind... he is one exceptional artist and shares my love of the Beatles especially John and George. 10:30 am is a perfect time to "bagel" without crowds. Last time I reviewed H&H, I was disappointed that I couldn't sample their spicy scallion cream cheese ... today I decided to buy a small amount and my favorite vegetable cream cheese. I figured I could mix a little of the spicy scallion with it. I was right. It is extremely spicy and mixing it gave it the right kick. Their bagels are amazing ( texture is perfect). The folks behind the counter were lovely ( even the grumpy guy from my last experience was smiling ) Parking at that time is a lot easier than early morning... Definitely happy with my purchases! And my husband and I enjoyed our late morning repast immensely!

What I Ordered: -Bacon, Egg and Cheese on Everything Bagel $8.70 -Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel with Spicy Scallion CC $5.70 -Large Coffee $3.80 As soon as I heard that H & H was expanding their business to Santa Monica. I knew I had check it out for myself. I've been to the legendary location NYC and had to see how this location matches up to it. LA definitely has some decent bagels, but nothing can compare to the bagels in NYC. It's all in the water! LA doesn't have great water like NYC. That's my 2 cents! I went to H & H early one morning to see what the hype was all about. I ordered a classic bacon, egg & cheese on an everything bagel. It was a pretty good bacon, egg & cheese. The egg was cooked well and the cheese was nice and gooey. The bacon was pretty good. The presentation was a bit sloppy. The bacon was sliding out of the sandwich. The everything bagel was meh. It wasn't a very good bagel in my opinion. I've had better Everything Bagels in LA. I also got the Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel which I liked a lot. Probably because it was loaded with cheese, but it was soft and chewy and a pretty good bagel. The smear of Cream Cheese was lacking especially when you consider the price point. The bagel with Cream Cheese costs $5.70 which is pretty high even for Santa Monica. The coffee was nothing to write home about. It was piping hot. You make it to your liking on your own. There's no sleeve for the cup. The cup is thicker than your average coffee cup, but its still a bit hot to touch. So be careful! I wouldn't be in a rush to come back as there's better options out there!

Food was really good. I was skeptical with the price $17 for a bagel but they really loaded it up! Surprised they did not have a lox bagel but they had lox spread. Ambiance was nice, place was very spacious and open, had a rustic vibe. Service was good. Nova Salmon with the works bagel 5/5

When I first saw this spot it was the grand opening and there was a hugee line, so I came back again to try it. I believe this place is originally from New York and is well loved over there. I got the spicy sausage egg & cheese bagel sandwich which was pretty good, I'd recommend it but ask for a little less of the cream cheese, and add salt and pepper. There was a long line when we got there, but luckily we ordered for pickup so we didn't have to wait. The sandwich was good but I wouldn't say it's worth the wait in the line, so I recommend ordering online ahead of time. Will come back to try their other items again.

This is my second time here. The bagels are good but service is very slow. They have not 1 or 2 but 4 people behind the counter. Given I was the only customer in line and I had to wait 15 minutes just to place my order was unacceptable. I was about to leave when the manager/help staff finally asked me if I had been help. I understand it's hard to find good people now and they are still about 3 weeks new. I would wait a few months before visiting just because they are very very slow. Suggestions: Perhaps they can have one person be in charge of taking the orders, two people making the food, and one person checking customers out at the end of the counter by the register. My suggestion is to have a cashier at the end and he/she can hand over drinks such as coffee while the customer is waiting for the food to be prepared. The cashier at the end can also give the customers any bagels that don't require any toasting or preparing. That will reduce the waiting time for customers who only need a bagel and a drink and give the waiting customer their coffee first. Also, have a separate place/shelf for Door Dash orders so people picking up DoorDash don't have to wait in line. Right now, each staff is doing everything. And if all of them are making sandwiches individually then no one can help a customer until that staff is done. That's what I observed while I was there. I saw people working hard. I just think the process can be improved for better efficiency and overall customer experience.

The bagels were something I was excited to try after seeing this is the NYC bagels brand that was featured in "Seinfield" and "Sex and the City" and this is the first ever location here in the West Coast, city of Santa Monica! We came here on their 3rd day of opening, and at around 1PM we were told all the plain bagels were already sold out for the day. After reassurance that the bagels are all nut-free for allergies, I chose the "Everything" bagel and picked the Classic option (bacon, egg, and cheese). My boyfriend, a NY bagel lover, ate his "Asiago Cheese" bagel Classic style as well, and though that the bagel was missing something. Unfortunately they were also out of the egg bagels that he really likes. Overall, it was filling and I only needed to eat half to feel satisfaction for lunch. I personally don't know if I'd be desiring to eat this again! Also when we were leaving, it smelt burnt inside /:

Just got a classic bacon egg and cheese on an everything but added shmear. It was so good!!! Got lots of fun sandwich options to choose from too and have some coffee. Would definitely come here again. They cooked the bacon and eggs fresh right in front of us and was not that bad of a wait.

I attended the Grand Opening at 5:30am and was lucky #7 in line! By 5:50am, the line almost reached Lincoln Blvd. First 200 received a tote bag with a gift card inside, I got $5! Very good energy once they opened their doors. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome. I heard about them on social media. First one in Santa Monica and west coast I believe. Apparently a well known NY bagel shop which appeared on Seinfeld TV and Sex in the City shows back in the day. I had their Jalapeño cheddar with plain cream cheese, and boy are they generous with the cream cheese. Overflows like a puffy cloud! I asked for lightly toasted because I can't do hard bagels. It was perfectly lightly toasted per my ask! The jalapeño cheese bagel alone was very good! They also have many bagel options, up to 12 different ones. With lox, egg, and more! Sign up for their rewards program on their app. 25 points given at time of sign up and 1 point for every $1 spent. $5 off for every 75 points earned, and free $5 on your Bday. Metered parking available in front and residential parking around the corner, but be sure to read the restrictions. Overheard another one is coming to LA on the east side! Echo Park maybe? :) Good luck H&H!

Everything bagel with cream cheese. Over toasted imo and the worst cream cheese spread I've ever seen

We agreed to outside patio seating at tall seats which is more than fine. but we were sat at a shared table with a family which is fine when you have context that you are doing so, but i spent the beginning of the morning listening to two different children play of their phones blasting the sound. additionally both the seats we were in were directly in the sun which for me is fine but my bf burns very easily. but okay fine, it is what it is. We politely waited until the table next to us emptied, and then told the waitress we would like to move because the sun. She said we would need to wait and she would need to check. And then came back and told us they were too busy. We watched the seat we wanted to sit in be empty until we asked for boxes for our food. We watched another table stay empty until we left. The waitress never introduced herself either. Additionally, no one checked up on us during the entire meal. Usually any sit down restaurant would ask how your meal is. No one did. we weren't even given silverware when our meals arrived. we had to go get them ourselves. We had to ask for boxes after sitting and waiting for anyone to check in. We separately had to call out to the oblivious waitress to even pay, as she was standing out there just looking around. The food was great, like i wish we would have had cash to tip the cooks themselves bc the food was really good. But Ive attached photos of the food (great!) and photos of the many empty tables that made them sooo busy they cldnt accommodate the paying costumers that already ordered. my boyfriend and I have both worked in the service industry before. But i would just say that they had horrible service which can ruin a perfectly good meal. I hope if the owner is the one I met at the door, he considers getting new waitresses .

This is a messy dish for sure. You will get your hands dirty! Chorizo Benedict came out about 30 minutes after order. Not great honestly. Portion size was generous. The eggs were poached decently, still runny, but the chorizo itself was bland and rather dry. The potatoes were room temperature. The bread a bit too chewy. Not AT ALL spicy.
