Although they did a good job on my roof, they overordered 10 sheets of plywood (at $100 a sheet). they PROMISED to pick it up the next day, but it sat in my driveway for 6 days before it was finally picked up. there was also a dumpster in my driveway for 4 days, making it impossible to use (my driveway). I'm STILL WAITING on the $1000 credit (check) that was promised me (for the extra plywood)...they keep telling me they sent a check, but it has yet to arrive. These people are dishonest. A $37 thousand dollar roof and they can't get the $1000 refund to me. I DO NOT recommend this company to ANYBODY. Using a local roofing company, not modern exteriors. Every time a call, I get the runaround from everyone that answers the phone. These are DISHONEST people who need to get their shit together and stop ripping people off. read more

My roof was done a year ago and I just had a home inspection done to sell it and then identified nails popping out scuffing and wear. I got in touch with the project manager two months ago and he never returns my phone calls. I spoke to him twice and he has not yet followed through to send somebody out and fix it like he said he would when I ask him if I'm on the schedule, he says yes, but he can't tell me when it's now been two months of this game. I was also promised in the sales pitch that they go around with the metal detector to make sure that they pick up all of the nails when they're done so everything looks perfect. This is not true. I continue to find nails in my deck in my yard and in my driveway when my roof was put on, I went up to the top floor of my house and found nails sticking out of the ceiling they hired a subcontractor to come in and fix the holes in my ceiling and then they did a crappy paint job on it. read more

wish I could take stars away from them! They lied to me. They didn't pull a permit. They tore off my roof and through it on my front yard. They didn't get a dumpster. Code shut them down. It rained inside my house that night. When they did come out to do the roof with permit. They didn't clean up the nails, put my gutters back on or clean up very well. They caused damage to my home. I gave them the opportunity to fix it and they did a horrible job. One of their workers then peed on my house in view of me and my grandkids. I told them to get off my property. I have been trying to get resolution with their insurance company. The insurance company did an inspection and refused to share the report with me.....about my home. My insurance company helped me with mold remediation and their insurance didn't pay them back.....so my home owners insurance went up. The rough still leaks. I had 2 other roofers come out and look at it. They said I didn't get the watershield and the drip edges weren't secured etc. It is already damaged underneath. I still have holes in my dining room ceiling and bathroom ceiling. Their insurance company told me they used a subcontractor when I was assured at the point of sale that they did their own work. Since it was support to be GFR, the roofer suggested I go do a claim with them. I did. They called modern. Modern indicated that they were going to sue me for payment. I am not paying for a roof I will have to throw out! So now I am looking at the attorney general office and for attorneys. I have tried for almost a year to resolve this! It has exacerbated my PTSD and my blood pressure. So go ahead.... let's have our day in court. I have videos, texts, photos etc. RUN AWAY! read more

The crew that worked on our roof did an outstanding job. The sales rep did a great job explaining what was going to be done in detail. My wife and I appreciated that they were happy to help us with the financing/ payment arrangement. We were able to finance half and were allowed to give them a post dated check for the remainder. Managers in this company are 100 percent scammers and liars ! Lure in young un experienced young men to home owners to tell lies and make promises that are not kept! Coach them to say things as if they are robots! Send them out to homes that are 2 plus hours away in there own vehicle not a company vehicle, no compensation for gas tolls wear and tare on there own vehicle plus miles and if something happens to there own vehicle they turn a blind eye! Be very ware of this company ! Many roofers out there that have years of experience as apose to some 20/30 year old that knows nothing about the business but will manipulate u and lie and use leverage they were in the military! Keep receiving harassing and unsolicited calls. asked to be put on do not call list and caller told me he needed to educate me on what solicitation means, and he has every right to call me. I received an unsolicited cold call on my private number from a representative named Bruce. Unfortunately, his conduct was far from professional. He refused to answer basic questions, including how he had obtained my number and the reason he thought I needed roofing work. Bruce falsely claimed they were doing roofing work in my neighborhood, which is part of a modern homeowners association, in an attempt to schedule an appointment I did not need or want. When I explained that all the roofs had recently been replaced and suggested he contact the homeowners association instead, Bruce rudely responded that I was wasting his time and then abruptly hung up on me to continue his telemarketing efforts elsewhere. I subsequently called Modern Exteriors, the company he claimed to represent, to report the incident, hoping they might consider retraining him on proper telemarketing etiquette and customer service. Afterward, I checked the Better Business Bureau and found several complaints against the company. Had Bruce been more professional and courteous, I would not be leaving this review. Hopefully, this feedback serves as a useful warning for others considering this company. read more

The sales rep Larry made many promises and the company failed to live up to the promises that were made. First of all, the sales presentation went on for about four hours. I should have made them leave after two hours. The sales rep was not taking no for an answer when we declined to purchase the roof at the end of his very long presentation. I had my husband come out finally to tell him to leave. Unfortunately, it did not end at that point. We ended up caving and agreeing to purchase the roof after the price for the roof kept dropping lower and lower. Live and learn I guess. Here is what was promised that was not delivered. Constant communication from the project manager throughout the project. That did not happen. The house was supposed to be completely covered with a tarp so that materials would not fall on the siding and that did not happen either. A dumpster was supposed to arrive early in the morning so that the shingles could be properly thrown out. That did not happen either. The dumpster arrived about three hours later and the roofers were just randomly pitching the old shingles off the roof onto a cloth below. If I wanted to leave the house I would do so at the risk of getting rid by an airborne shingle. There was supposed to be a walkthrough of the site at the end of the project before the crew left. Guess what? That did not happen either. We had been promised that they would not leave the jobsite until we were satisfied and completely happy and that did not happen. I called Charlie, the guy that I guess was the Project Manager and he said that he would be out the following day. I spoke to him the next morning and he asked me to DocuSign the paperwork before he even came out. I was also told during the sales pitch that the new roof was going to bring down the cost of my homeowners insurance by around 20%. What a joke. I checked with my homeowner's insurance company and they knocked a whooping $26 off my annual bill. That is 1.5% off my annual invoice. What about the product and the roofers? Well as far as we can tell the shingles are good. We had a pretty bad storm recently and there were no apparent issues. The roofers were good. They were efficient and polite. I had no issues with them. I would absolutely not recommend this company. They had offered to come out and evaluate the condition and age of the roof for free and give me an idea of when my roof would need to be replaced. I should have never taken them up on this offer. My mistake. Don't make the same mistake that I did. read more
