I've been to the Modern Market in Dallas before and really liked their concept, so when I found out this one was opening & right down the road from where I lived, I couldn't be more excited! I visited today with my coworkers for their soft opening & had the Prosciutto Brick Oven Pizza and a side of mac & cheese (I'm a sucker for trying every place's mac & cheese). A whole pizza is about 10", but the crust is thin & the toppings are light that the next thing I knew, I was 2/3 done! Love the savory flavor of the pizza with a hint of sweet & would recommend getting it! The mac & cheese on the other hand was just average and I probably wouldn't order again. :\ The employees are really nice and you could feel the energy and excitement about the place opening in their attitude & customer service. Even though we had to wait in line to order, the food was ready really quickly! 4 stars because interior is beautiful & has a modern feel, good customer service & we all enjoyed what we ordered (coworkers ordered the chipotle steak sandwich, basil chicken sandwich and fiesta salad & would recommend getting them again). Update. My oldest son came in from out of town. We made last minute plans for a Mother's Day breakfast. I remembered that I wanted to take him to Modern Market and I also assumed that it would be a good place to go for a busy day like Mother's Day. I thought this because of the way it is set up where you walk up to order, and then you pick it up when it's ready. I went to Yelp to look up the directions to text to him, and saw that someone from the restaurant had responded to my last review. What a nice surprise! :-) the last time I was there, I had wanted to try something off of the breakfast menu, but it was too late. I was happy that I was meeting my son for breakfast. I was totally blown away by the gluten-free bread. We had to ask if it was, in fact, gluten-free! I am writing this review hours later and there was nothing in it that made me sick. Sometimes even gluten-free breads can make me ill, because of the additives. I brought my husband, who was coming for the first time and my children who had already come with me the first time. Just had my lunch "Mediterrian Bowl" delivered to my job via DoorDash. Although the delivery service was great, the food is very dissapointing. The "salad" looks as though a five year old through a tantrum in the kitchen and just threw things into a plate. I can actually see the bottom of the plate without moving things around. I was able to count the amount or lack of olives in the salad just by a quick glance. The yogurt sauce it's suppost to have is a quirt of something on each side of the plate? I have more red onions than green leaf lettuce. The meat is very bland and without flavor. The entire plate is a joke. I guess there's no pride in fixing a decent doordash plate since the customer is ordering from a remote loacation. I WILL NOT order from here again!! read more

I found this place while trying to kill time for a 10am meeting in the surrounding area. So glad I walked in, the restaurant was inviting, clean, modern (all components that appeal to me). I had the breakfast burrito and it was fantastic, tasted homemade. I'm picky about salsa, and their salsa had a wonderful flavor. Improvement opportunity I found would be more knowledgeable staff on menu, all staff say greeting as they pass customers, and easier process to connect to wi-fi. Got the superfood salad here. It was one of the most disgusting meals I have ever had. Definitely the most disgusting tasting salad I've ever had. I got this one because I had just watched Forks over Knives and the movie had persuaded me to try the vegan lifestyle. This salad is the healthiest option they have at this healthy restaurant. Don't get it. It was like eating your way through a bitter thicket of brush. Coarse, tough kale, grainy quinoa, weirdly bitter dressing. Yuck. They couldn't have made it taste worse if they tried. I've been here twice. The other time I think I got the farmers salad which was good. I enjoyed it. But you know, it has chicken and cheese so it's not vegan approved. This was a very frustrating experience. We had a social distanced outside small lunch planned with a small pod of friends, and needed to group order and have the food delivered. A lot of planning had gone into this event for some time, and I did not have much time, or leeway - everything had to go smoothly. I called a day or so before, explaining the situation. They directed me to the website for group orders. I started a group order, and sent out links to the other parties. They put in their order. Then when I went to checkout the morning of the event, the website would not allow me to. I tried different laptops, browsers, etc. It was a bug. I called them and they said their website wasn't working. I was very busy, and asked if I could just give them my credit card, and could they just read the order in their system and deliver. I had no time to work on this. They said they could not do that. I asked to speak to the manager. Sonya got on the phone and said they could not take my credit card over the phone. I would have to come in person. I could not believe it. She said that was policy. Furthermore I would have to read my order to her over the phone. I said I was not a happy customer, could she please just take my credit card? I did not feel comfortable going inside to pick up the food, could they deliver. She refused. I am a businessman myself and if I have an unhappy customer, I want my managers to make the customer happy. I could not believe this was happening. So I had to waste even more time, going through everyone's orders, line by line over the phone. I then had them repeat the order to me to make sure it was right. Then I had to drive to their location, and physically put myself at risk to go inside to the store to hand my credit card and pick up the food. I doubt I will ever use them again. It is really hard for me to decide what to get here. The time before last, I had the kids pizza and I liked it a lot. The cookies are fabulous as well. we shared the flat iron salad, which was delicious, and the half sandwich we had was great. I ate at Modern Market for the first time today. I met a friend for lunch and had the steak plate with sweet potato hash and a side salad. Everything was delicious! This salad tastes high-quality and super fresh unlike its' competitors. The mac & cheese is pretty delightful - I'd get it again! I'm always in this part of town running errands and have been curious about this place. Having just returned from a business trip where I felt like I ate a lot of rich and heavy meals, I was looking for something healthier while also filling. This place came to mind and I stopped by here for a to-go order on the way home. I decided for sampling purposes that I would go with the 1/2 and 1/2 - half sandwich and 1/2 salad. I went for the Arugula Mozz (which was more ciabatta roll than anything else) with mozzarella, basil aioli (nice flavor!), balsamic vinaigrette, arugula and tomato - very promising mix of flavors, just need to better ratio with the bread. Then I had the Wintergreen salad, which was outstanding. Spinach, apple, goat cheese, roasted potatoes, dates, walnuts and an amazing agave herb vinaigrette. Filling and hearty salad ingredients. I would definitely give this place a try in the future, but may steer away from the sandwiches unless I am in the mood for a healthy portion of bread. read more

I ordered a pizza for delivery....an M'Rita with pepperoni on a gluten free crust. I wanted to love it but it fell short. I have had many gluten free pizza. Some that were out of this world amazing. The gluten free crust on this pizza however was gummy...and had an odd flavor. The pizza toppings were so bland that I salted it and there was very little cheese or basil.
