We recently purchased an older home and completed major interior renovations in 2019. After completing the interior work, we knew that we needed to replace the old roof to protect all the work completed inside. We got quotes from four reputable roofing companies in addition to Modern Roofing. Through Lowes, Modern Roofing provided the most accurate estimate with the best pricing. The entire back side of our roof required decking and the other four companies provided estimates with only a few sheets of decking. Any experienced roof estimator can clearly see that the backside of the roof required decking...to be accurate about 14 sheets of 4ft x 8th decking. Initially, the other four roofing company estimates were in the ballpark plus minus $1500 dollars. But it was only Modern Roofing's estimate that was in the middle of group that included all the required decking. The other "so called" reputable roofing companies estimate would have jumped thousands of dollars more during the removal process due to the need for more decking. If we had started with any of the other companies, we would have been stuck at a much higher price to finish the job (bait and switch). It was clear that the accurate and honest estimate from Modern Roofing was the company to go with...without a doubt. Fast forward two years later...12/31/22 (New Year's Eve) and we discovered a few leaks from the rains due to a manufacturers design flaw and our Lowes rep ordering the wrong size ridge caps (should have been 10-inch ridge caps not 8 inch). We contacted Lowes and they recommend we contact the company that installed our new roof which was Modern Roofing. Many companies talk about service and support after the sales but rarely do companies follow through. We contacted Modern Roofing New Year's Eve and their Management Team responded to us on a major holiday weekend and assured us that someone will be out to inspect our roof. After being in contact with Modern Roofing we felt rest assured during this stressful time. As promised on the following business day (1/2/23) a roof technician arrived to inspect the roof and also provided a temporary solution (which worked) to prevent further damage. As soon as there was a break in the weather with no rain (3 days later), the Modern Roofing team immediately returned to fix the issues and completed the permeant repairs. We have been truly blessed to have Modern Roofing replace our entire roof and the provide the amazing after service and support. We haven't been paid a single dime, as a matter of fact not even a single penny for this review. Because the issue couldn't be successfully patched, he replaced the entire side of the roof with the dormers with a brand new roof. WOW, that's standing behind your work! In addition, we had some water that found its way into our house from the leak and Modern Roofing even repaired all the interior damage as well. WOW, this is an upstanding, honorable company! I recently hired Modern Roofing, Inc. to reset the tiles on my roof, and the experience has been nothing short of disappointing. What began with a promising sales process quickly deteriorated into a series of failures and frustrations. During the initial consultation, Eric T. spent considerable time explaining every step of the project, which was thorough and professional. I specifically discussed my specialty solar installation by Green Convergence, which featured panels installed over felt shingles at the same level as the clay tiles - a setup that prevented birds from nesting and drew compliments from neighbors. Eric assured me they could reset everything exactly as it existed. This promise proved entirely false. After two failed attempts, multiple sections of my solar panels are now positioned above the tiles, misaligned, and sitting at various angles. Even worse, birds have already begun nesting in areas where they couldn't access before - the very problem my original installation had solved. Communication throughout the project was abysmal. Eric T., the project manager, would disappear for days at a time, leaving me completely in the dark about progress or delays. The workmanship displayed by their crew showed a complete lack of pride or attention to detail. Glaring errors were made throughout the installation, and they consistently left messes behind: nails, copper wire, chunks of broken cement, tools, solar rack brackets, pieces of wood, and trash from lunch. No one likes replacing their entire roof. But, our roof was 30 years old, and our insurer required us to replace it. Among other roofing companies, we called Modern Roofing for a quote. They earned our business and did not disappoint. Indeed, they exceeded our expectations from the get-go. From the first call onward, everyone we dealt with was professional and kind -- and this was the case at every stage of the process. Nick came to do our estimate, and was with us every step of the way. Excellent from start to finish. Arman M was our salesman/project manager and was in touch either in person or by phone every day of the project. The projected start of our project was pushed back three days due to rain, and Arman was very concerned about any possible (probable) leaks. He had one of his workers come out and plastic the roof before any of the rain started. We also have 18 solar panels that had to be removed and then replaced. Once the crew started, the work removing the solar panels and then on our roof was done in one day as there was more rain coming and the crew wanted to be done with as much as possible. They worked a 10 1/2 hour shift. These workers are tip top! The roof came through its first rain storm with flying colors! The replacement of the solar panels took about five hours, with Oscar at the helm. He was very thorough when removing the panels, making sure to keep track of measurements along the way, which made it easier for the reinstall. The worst part about the solar replacement was reconnecting it to our monitoring system, but Oscar stood with us until it was all done. This was a really great experience. I decided to go with this company because i am a person who believes that everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. I read reviews given to this company on various websites, like angies list, here, and many others. I can tell you that this company has had one of the highest ratings of great work done. As a co-owner of a business myself i can say that some people will come accross negative people from the start that in reality they will make a project like roofing, remodeling of a home, ect... bad for themselves even if the company might be doing a great job. Some people can be picky about one thing or another. I like my work to be done good the first time and this roofing company did that for me. It rained not too long ago and i had no leaks, no problems. My new shingle roof looks beautiful. I needed a new roof and after various quotes I choose them because they were able to start right away (literally the next day they got to work and the roof was done in about a week and a half). I will say they were not the cheapest quote and there was an increase in the final cost due to replacing more wood than originally accounted for but they did a good job. I chose them for the convenience they provided by being able to remove and reinstall the solar panels. Other roofing companies did not want to touch the solar panels and/or required me to coordinate with my solar company so they can be removed and installed again which would require more waiting on my end so everything being done at once was a benefit. I got the gutters done as well and those look so much better. Eduard, the project manager, kept me informed every step of the way and answered any question asked. So far no rain to test the final quality but from what I see the work looks nice. As with any major house project I would definitely keep in mind that prices can increase! I usually don't post reviews but Andrew was so great that I had to leave him with something. I inherited my father's house after his recent passing. The roof was 40plus years old and the whole exterior of the home needed to have work done. I met with other contractors but Andrew was the most knowledgeable of all of them. Andrew kept me informed throughout the entire project. He was on site almost everyday overseeing the crew. I usually never see the contractor actually doing the work but rather just telling the crew what to do. Andrew had no problems running the crew but also getting involved and helping them get the work done sooner. At the end of each day Andrew and I would walk around my home inspecting everything and seeing the progress being made. At the same time he was cleaning up. Andrew helped me with my roof but also helped me with choosing paint colors to repaint the home and even painted the home while fixing any problems with the stucco or siding to make sure it look amazing after it was done.
