I had heard so much about this place over the years, very surprised it took me this long to eat here! My cousin was having her birthday dinner here and I was so excited to celebrate. We had a pretty large group (around 10) We decided to order a bunch of appetizers to start. My favorite had to be the burrata. For my main I ordered a salad and the portion was pretty large I had to take it home. Of course we had to order dessert, and the ice cream cake (made to special order) was a must. Perfect way to end the night!

Met up with friends for lunch. They were having restaurant week and did not know about it. You got an appetizer, main meal and a dessert. All 4 of us took advantage of it. We all started off with a Bib salad with blue cheese, thinly sliced apples, candied pecans, and some sliced avocado. The salad was full size and delicious. 2 of us had the fried buttermilk chicken on brioche bread with Asian slaw. I had sweet potato fries. My husband had the turkey club with bacon, avocado tomato and lettuce and my other friend had the Spring Spaghetti, with cherry tomatoes, cheese and pesto sauce. The sandwiches were so large it was a challenge to take a bite, but boy well worth the effort. Everything was so tasty and fresh. Dessert we had NY cheesecake and 2 different flavors of sorbet. Our waiter was EXCELLENT! Took care of everything and it was perfecto! The ambiance is a little bit rustic, with a flare of modern. ( Modern Barn- pretty catchy). We had a great time sitting, eating and laughing. We would go back for sure

Made 5 pm reservations on a Sunday evening for a belated birthday celebration for 6 people. We probably didn't need one but you would definitely need it for the 6-6:30 pm. Marcus our waiter was attentive with a great sense of humor and the food was outstanding. A nice family friendly atmosphere.

This place could be great, but it falls short just a bit. The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside. It felt welcoming and looks like a high end restaurant. The servers were also very efficient and checked on us several times during the meal. The wine we ordered was great and they have a good beer selection (ordered Chimay blue). For the kids, the spaghetti and meatballs were great. We ordered a cheeseburger medium, but it was a bit undercooked. The calamari appetizer from the "restaurant week" menu was not good. It seemed like frozen calamari from a packet that was barely battered or seasoned. The short ribs with polenta was fine, not great. The ribeye was fantastic, I got the spinach instead of the broccoli which was also good. The mashed potatoes were too runny somehow? And last was the pumpkin cheesecake with whipped cream and a berry compote? Pumpkin and berries is not a a good combination, maybe a drizzle of caramel would have done better to keep with the fall theme/color scheme of the pumpkin cheesecake. Overall it could be we just ordered some items that aren't their best. But we weren't happy with all the food itself, we expected much better given the price and the ambiance of the restaurant.

Came here for dinner on Sunday during restaurant week. The place was exactly what we were looking for... Inexpensive, beautiful, and romantic atmosphere! The place was busy. The service and food were amazing! The food was fresh and came out fast. The atmosphere was friendly, and there were great food choices, including gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free options. We would come back again and highly recommend you to check out this place if you are in Armonk.

This restaurant is always consistent. I had another amazing lunch here which consisted of the meatballs of course, and a truffle pizza for appetizers. The meatballs were perfect, with a wonderful sauce and a nice dollop of ricotta on top. The black truffle pizza was so cheesy and delicious, loved it! For entrées we ordered the barn burger and the heirloom tomato BLT. The burger was juicy, delicious, lots of bacon and perfect. The BLT had such crispy bacon on it, along with the toasted multigrain bread, and ripe tomatoes, it was amazing! Service is always good and I will be back soon!

Ambiance is very nice and food is good. We had a variety of appetizers the Burrata was great and the nonna meatballs were awesome. The calamari was good I wish the batter had a little more salt on it. The seafood risotto was very tasty but the calamari was overcooked and sirloin steak was good I ordered it medium rare it came out medium well. The drinks were very good and dessert we shared the bread pudding which was very tasty.

Came here with my son it's a beautiful place they did a great job. Very nice bar too. Food was good nothing to go crazy about. Rock shrimp was nice and crispy. Mezza plate was ok. Not enough pita. But they did come out with more Table ordered a burger is was really good cooked perfectly. Salmon was cooked good just plain Sea bass was little over cooked but a good sauce with it. I had seafood risotto had shrimp mussels scallops with calamari that was tough. Risotto was over and plain sauce. Service is great and on point. Plenty of party. Prices are fair.

Beautiful room and ambiance. Well made food and drinks. But I find the menu limited. And the appetizers are ridiculously small portions.

They have free parking in two lots, one adjacent to the restaurant and one across the street. The spots are narrow so they may be a bit tight for super large cars. The restaurant does not allow strollers. They have a prominent sign on the front of the door, which I appreciated, but it did make it harder to manage with a little one. We made a reservation. I arrived late, but they sat my friend right away while she waited and provided us with sturdy wooden high chairs. To drink, I ordered a lemonade. It turned out to be pink lemonade, which I hadn't had in a while. It was tasty, especially with a requested fresh lemon for a little extra tartness. To eat, I had the tree hugger benedict. The eggs were well prepared and the English muffin was nice and buttery. Our waitress and other patrons were friendly.

We use a Doona, so I was able to wheel him inside asleep and planned to convert it into a car seat once we reached our table. The restaurant was nearly empty, and there was plenty of room to safely walk to our table without disrupting staff or other guests. As soon as we arrived, the hostess (who I believe may have been the owner) told me the Doona needed to be folded into car seat mode at the table. That was never an issue, I was completely happy to do that. What was upsetting was how she spoke to me, and her attitude. She reprimanded me for wheeling the Doona the short distance to the table, speaking to me as if I were a child being scolded in the principal's office. I've worked in the restaurant industry since I was a young teenager, so I understand restaurant etiquette and safety. I never would have wheeled the stroller through the dining room if it wasn't safe or appropriate. Her tone and attitude were so unkind it made me feel completely unwelcome. Instead of showing a little understanding toward a mother trying to manage two young children, she chose to embarrass me over something I had every intention of correcting once I reached the table. If it hadn't been such an ordeal to get two little ones there, I would have left immediately. The food may have been fine, but hospitality is just as important, and unfortunately that was completely lacking. I won't be returning, and I hope management realizes that kindness and respect toward guests, especially parents doing their best, go a long way. This is a diner after all not a 5 star fancy dinner spot.

The pics, reviews, and menu all seemed to point towards a yes - so off we went. Freddy's is located within the main commercial hub of Pleasantville. It's not a large restaurant, but holds a decent amount of seating with tasteful and laid-back decor. We were there right at opening at 4:30p, so it wasn't crowded but started filling up as time progressed. The menu is mostly American - arranged by apps, salads, entrees, sides, and desserts. I decided to start with the burrata which was served with diced butternut squash, brown butter, and grilled bread. This was...not what I was expecting. Burrata usually comes as an intact sphere that you cut open to reveal the soft cheese inside. This was already broken, and served in an almost deconstructed way. It honestly looks like a way to cut corners as it was definitely not a whole burrata. That, and the lack of flavor do not make it worth the $17 they charge. My main was better - I ordered the smoked chicken which was a breast on the bone and came with grits, spinach, and honey au jus. This was tasty - the chicken was juicy with crispy skin, and the au jus added a welcome sweetness to the grits and spinach. We opted for dessert because birthday - I chose the carrot cake which was just okay. No nuts, raisins, or noticeable carrots - so, a spice cake? As a side note, we were there during HV Restaurant week, however in lieu of a dedicated menu they offered a prix fixe app/entree/dessert off their menu. It sounded great at face value, but then we were told the portions would be smaller - and for items they couldn't shrink they up-charged if we ordered off the regular menu. IMO, not the best way to do restaurant week - either have a dedicated menu for it or don't participate at all. That being said, we decided to order off the regular menu. Service was good, everyone was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, Freddy's sent me mixed signals - the food wasn't bad, but this isn't a place I would go out of way to try again - it's more of a local spot in my perspective. If circumstances found me here again, though, I wouldn't be mad.

Food just wasn't that good. The table ordered a variety of dishes--mid at best…read more Service was also 2 stars, not friendly at all. Tell my friends to pass or go at your own risk

Given the choices available in the area, this one made the most sense, so we gave it a shot. In keeping with the night, it was tremendous from the opening tip. Bartender mixed a great drink...the managers/owners (couldn't quite tell, which actually made it better, given that I'm fairly certain it was an owner jumping in behind the bar when things got busy) were kind and funny and pointed us in the right direction on the menu...and the overall vibe was that of a perfect neighborhood tavern where virtually everyone who walked in was received as a beloved regular and where things moved at their own perfect pace. I can also recommend both the sea bass and the burger; both were cooked to perfection, and are more than worth returning for. If you're looking for a normal night in Pound Ridge, bypass the inn up the street and settle in for a helluva night....

***3 1/2 stars***…read more For an impulse decision, this could have been worse. My top tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I drove through here on Saturday after briefly considering a stop at The Inn at Pound Ridge and not liking the valet parking vibe. We had no idea there was a cute little main drag on our way and after squealing for about 10 seconds, quickly found a parking spot and explored (and kept an eye out for nearby resident Blake Lively). There aren't a ton of dinner options available but this one looked like the best outdoor ambiance situation, so we wandered in and procured a table out on the porch. I thought they should have either trimmed back or removed the bushes right next to the porch for a better viewpoint - my dining companion felt privacy was a bigger selling point than the view, so your mileage may vary. We'd had a legit meal a few hours ago so the apps and drink menus took center stage. I had a Manhattan (I think it was called a black one because it had rye/was on the darker side, but I could be mistaken), and we split the duck dumplings and calamari. The duck dumplings were amazing - my texture-based palate suspiciously noted a crunch, but the actual taste was off the charts. The apple rosemary puree paired perfectly with the duck confit, and it felt almost silky, which is not a word I typically use to describe an eating experience (an Evian drinking experience? Yes.). By far the highlight of the meal. The calamari was very mediocre and we ate maybe half. The texture was rubbery and the actual calamari was super salty (which was an interesting contrast to the bland marinara sauce that accompanied it). The Manhattan was okay - I actually got it at the last minute because a nearby table procured them for every guest in their party, which seemed intriguing. You could definitely taste the layers and the cherry on the bottom, but for me it just tasted like a nothing-special variation of an Old Fashioned. In hindsight I would have gotten something else, though the cocktail menu was surprisingly small - I think it literally only had four options. (There were definitely more wine/beer selections available) The service was fine; my chum hemmed and hawed a bit in selecting the perfect outdoor table, but the host was very patient/courteous with her deliberations. Our waiter stopped by pretty regularly and despite not being on a pressing schedule, we were probably in and out of there within an hour or so. I noticed a few reviews mentioned the dark interior, which I have to agree with - it was legitimately hard to see people when you were inside, and the bartender was very proactive in directing me to the restroom without my asking for assistance, which makes me think others wander in from the porch a little disoriented from the sudden loss of light, but maybe he's just that accommodating. Either way, I'm glad we were outside and could see each other; a little more lighting could go a long way in there. This is a a super bougie area, and you'd expect the restaurant situation to reflect that. It LOOKS like it belongs in an upper crust section of Westchester, but the overall quality ultimately doesn't get there. Pleasant enough though.
