    Special salad

I really loved this restaurant. I came knowing that it got great reviews so my expectations were high. The ambiance was really nice and the service was excellent. I got the special salad and salmon with lentils which was delicious. My husband and friends also loved what they got. Overall, highly recommend.

When we first walked into the restaurant, it struck me more like a bar with tables as it didn't have some of the French influences that I'm used to in the past at other restaurants. We were the only two patrons inside the restaurant granted it was 3:30 on a Sunday. The waiters were very warm, welcoming and pleasant. Both my Guest and I ordered the French onion soup to start. The soup was slightly above warm but not hot considering there was a chill in the area I thought this would be the remedy to regulate our temperatures. Immediately after our soup was taken away we receive our meals, no time wasted. My Croque Monsieur was okay, the taste of the ham and cheese was reasonable, but the bread used was kind of tough and challenging to bite, to separate a bite size amount, I was moved to using a fork and a serrated knife and that made it a little easier. We both had a little bit higher expectations for a French restaurant that met some of our needs, but not all. JTL

I Also noticed she brought bread to the one table and just ignored the rest. Food was very confusing. The seafood chowder was decent, the rest was just terrible. My meal consisted of three fried pieces of eggplant and about 1/2 pound of salad mix thrown on the top.. There is no ambiance. This is basically a french dive bar with a patio. Inside is old, dated, and esthetically bland. The aged outdoor chairs are basically gargoyle warning of the dread that lies within. This place is why I love restaurant week. I would not pay full price for a meal here.. Travelers beware..

With both à la carte options and a $44 Prix Fixe menu, we went for the prix fixe -- and it was the best decision of the day. A truly enchanting brunch that felt as if we had slipped away to a cozy café in Paris. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with live soft jazz music setting the perfect tone. The staff was warm and attentive, anticipating every need -- even the bread served with a luxurious French butter with black sea salt was top notch. No land Lake served on their tables. Cocktails Bloody Mary -- perfectly mixed, bright and briny with just the right touch of horseradish Peach Bellini -- light, fruity, and beautifully balanced Appetizers Salmon Tartare -- diced fresh tuna , with a vibrant pesto sauce, served with crisp baguette toasts. Not only did the food roll off my tongue, but it was a substantial first course. Hubby opted for the Soup du jour, a comforting individual tureen of butternut squash soup, delicately garnished with sunflower seeds -- savory with just a hint of sweetness, the perfect bowl for a cold, rainy day. I had a few spoonfuls and can agree it was delicious and warming. Entrées So many options I really had a tough time picking one. So many classic French dishes, but the buckwheat crepe won out. A SMOKED SALMON CREPE Filled with chopped salade, in a buckwheat crêpe, sunny up egg. Great to the last bite. Husband continued with a French theme steak sandwich with brie cheese, pickle shallots, aioli, and pomme frites Dessert Chocolate Mousse -- airy, rich, and deeply satisfying; the perfect sweet finish. The waiter comes over with a huge tureen of chocolate mousse and scoops out a huge amount of it to add in your dessert plate . Quite the presentation. Paired with after-dinner drinks, this brunch was a seamless blend of French elegance and warmth -- every bite, every note of music, every detail thoughtfully done. A truly delightful experience we can't wait to repeat.

Every plate felt carefully put together, with classic French techniques and just enough creativity to make each dish feel special. And then there was dessert. The profiterole was the perfect ending to the meal--a light, airy pastry filled with ice cream, covered in a crisp hazelnut shell, and finished with a smooth chocolate glaze. It had the perfect mix of crunch, creaminess, and rich chocolate, but somehow still felt light enough that you wanted every last bite.

From the door, we were kindly greeted and immediately sat. Evelyn, the manager, frequently came to check on us and our experience and truly made our night special. Our server Cole was attentive and made great recommendations. Let's get to the food...I know that's why you're here. We started with the escargot, duck wings and the bone marrow app special. It was my first time having escargot and I pity any other restaurant that may serve these to me moving forward. We were given extra bread just to make sure we could dip it in all of its garlicky, oily wonderfulness. The duck wings had a great Asian, sticky-wing type of flavor (another first for me) and the bone marrow just melted in your mouth. If you like the fatty part of the steak, say "yes" to the marrow. *chefs kiss* For entrees we had the chicken leg special, steak frite (you get a choice of cut) and the salmon. We were all just taking bites off of each other's plate all night. The gravy that came with the chicken special was perfect and paired amazingly with the crispy skin of the chicken. The steak; cooked PERFECTLY! (You see the pics!) & that salmon in the beurre blanc?! More perfection. Like the good children we are, we ate all our food and felt we deserved dessert. We ordered two apple tarts, which they outsource, and the crème brûlée. The apples were sweet and tender and I never have any bad words for crème brûlée . We also ended our evening with some cappuccinos and a healthy pour of amaro noninno; just devine. To top it all off, we noticed a DJ setting up towards the end of dinner service. What began as the dining area quickly turned into a dance floor. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back!

The menu has a solid mix of breakfast staples like omelettes, pancakes, and eggs Benedict as well as lunch options like a burger, salads, and a turkey club. I went with the eggs Benedict and they were perfect. The potato hash came in a fun triangular shape; very crispy... almost too crispy, to the point I wondered if it was intentional, but still tasty. My partner got the pancakes and wow, huge. And delicious. Overall, great service, great food, and a gorgeous atmosphere. Would definitely return!

I love French food and it's something we don't have very often so I was excited to come back. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. The service was wonderful and the space hasn't changed (the carpets could probably be changed and the walls that have the quaint murals on them are dirty (splatters of food or drink were on the wall next to where I sat). My escargots and the foie gras were perfect, but the ravioli was overwhelmed by one of the sauces (a gravy type thing underneath). The filet was also very good, but I wouldn't say it was special. My husband got the scallops and there wasn't much of a saffron flavor to the saffron sauce. The worst part was our soufflés were all raw in the centers. We informed our waiter and they removed them from the bill, but overall it wasn't a great dinner, especially for the price.

The clientele is almost all over sixty so it is not clear that this restaurant will withstand the test of time in the 21st century. Some sections of the restaurant require walking up small sets of stairs, so they may not be accessible for all. Our table had couch seating on one side and was comfortable, but the table itself was a tiny bit small when accommodating a bunch of plates and glasses. To drink, I had the pomegranate martini. It was quite strong, fruity, and not overly sweet. My husband had the bees knees. It was juicy and flavorful. To start, we had a salad from the specials menu. It included mandarins, kiwi, goat cheese, almonds, and arugula. It was a large portion size and crisp and refreshing. We also had the spinach artichoke dip, which was rich and tasted very fresh. For my main, I had the penne. I loved the tomato cream sauce. I also got a side of onion rings. They were shoestring style, which I wasn't expecting, but they were piping hot and very tasty. My husband enjoyed his steak, but one should note that the dish is literally just steak, so you need to order sides separately if you want any accompaniments. For dessert, we had the lemon tart. It was lovely, especially with the accompanying berries. Our waiter was excellent. The only negative was that I asked for a special dessert and candle for my husband's birthday and they completely forgot. I even called earlier in the day to confirm they would be able to do it.
