Barth's is a family-run business, not a huge supermarket, which is part of its charm. The atmosphere has that welcoming, old-fashioned neighborhood market feel. Everything is clean, neatly displayed, well organized, and easy to find as you walk around. Even with such a large variety packed into the market, it doesn't feel overwhelming, and it's easy to browse and see everything they have to offer. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. They're extremely knowledgeable about their meats and are happy to offer cooking recommendations and even recipes if you're not sure how to prepare something. The meat selection is incredible. As I walked around, I saw beautiful steaks, chops, burgers, Italian and Polish sausages, chicken and veal cutlets, German cold cuts, homemade bratwurst, hot dogs, kielbasa, and a variety of wursts. They also carry organic whole chickens and chicken parts, along with homemade chicken patties and chicken sausages. If you enjoy German foods, Barth's has a nice selection of dried spaetzle and other German-style noodles, along with Kabanos and other specialty items. They also have a fresh fish department. What really surprised me was how much more they offer besides meat. You can pick up homemade prepared foods and entrées, locally sourced fresh breads, milk, eggs, dairy products, drinks, fresh vegetables, salads, condiments, and plenty of other items to put together an entire meal. I bought steaks, Italian sausage, kielbasa, bread, and Kabanos sausage, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The quality of the meats at Barth's is truly outstanding, and you can tell they take pride in what they sell. There's a free parking lot attached to the building, which is very convenient along with a couple of handicapped spaces, and they even have some outdoor seating if you want to grab a sandwich or something to eat and enjoy it outside. I can definitely see why I've heard so many good things about Barth's. Great quality, knowledgeable and friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere, and an impressive selection. I highly recommend checking them out. I'll definitely be back!

The space has a warm and modern feel. On the food side, I enjoyed a beet salad. The dish was beautifully presented with a generous portion of beets underneath a tower of greens, topped with a fried goat cheese cake. Delicious! For cocktails, I started with "The Perfect Pairing" - a seasonal whiskey cocktail with Widow Jane applewood rye, Aperol, spicy pear liqueur, bitters, and muddled orange. I really enjoyed this sturdy cocktail. I'm not much of a dessert cocktail person, but Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream is my flavor, so I indulged with mixology ace Giovanni's "Mint Chocolate Martini." Pumping up the vanilla vodka, creme de menthe and another liqueur was mint chocolate ice cream. Other guests were raving about the espresso martinis (that use freshly brewed espresso right off the machine). It's safe to say that dessert cocktails are a strong suit at Providence Bar! Chatting with owner Eric, I learned that the patio has a retractable roof which will be opening up with warmer weather close at hand. The host provided us with our menus upon each of us sitting in our chair, and we thought we were in for a nice customer experience. Upon being seated, we waited about 10 minutes to get bread and water, and then another 10 minutes after that for someone to take our drink order...and then the bar was backed up, so we did not get a drink in hand until about 30 minutes in. You would think that if it took that long to get drinks, you might want to put the appetizer order in when we ordered the drinks. This did not happen. We did not put our food order in until about 45-60 minutes. The apps we ordered were very good. The entrees were good as well, although upon ordering filet mignon medium rare, the meat was severely undercooked (essentially raw and jiggling). We had to request the order be heated to the correct temperature, which our waiter did without hesitation. Unfortunately, as we waited for this to occur the rest of our meals waited to be consumed. We then ordered our coffees/desserts - only 2. Our coffees came out within about 10 minutes, which we finished in another 10 minutes. Dessert did not hit our table for about 25 minutes. We had a 6pm reservation for 3 people. The entire meal took 2.5 hours to compete. We only ordered a total of 3 alcoholic beverages, 3 apps, 3 entrees and 2 desserts. From my perspective, the restaurant did not staff an adequate number of wait staff for the volume of customers. Additionally, there should be a dedicated staff member that can run drinks to tables. Even the person that filled water glasses and delivered bread was falling behind. She brought out apps plates to our table as we were finishing up our apps and eating out of our bread plates. Not a big deal, but just added to the underperforming service. Again, food quality was excellent, but the restaurant did not nail a great service experience on this night. The good news is that hopefully they can correct this for the future.

A friend and I went to Moe's on a Friday night. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. Our appetizer sampler was amazing. Our pasta dish was ravioli, which was delicious. Our entrees were short ribs in pasta and chicken. It was fabulous. Dessert was molten lava cake and absolutely out of this world. I cannot express how delicious everything was. As superlative as our meal was, however, the service was even better. We were welcomed so warmly and sincerely by Moe and by the staff. It is clear that Moe loves what he does and is proud of what he accomplishes, as he should be. While we were dining, all I could think of is how much my daughter and son-in-law - foodies, as well - would love this menu! I was certain that no matter what they ordered, it would be delicious, so I bought them a $100 gift certificate. Well, they ended up using it on Saturday night. And I was right; they raved. I am resistant to write a review since any attention may hinder me from finding a table in the future. Staff is sweet and attentive. A very personal atmosphere. We felt as if we were regular customers although it was our first visit. Moe even came from the back to talk for a bit. Great people! The food is ridiculous. My wife claims that the hummus is the best she's ever had. We enjoyed some potato soup with bacon and it was spot on. Boneless spare rib open face grilled cheese was a great appetizer, not too much to spoil your entree but so tasty! Had to get the Chateaubriand for two. Came with String Beans and a very cooly shaped potatoe croquet that looked like a pear. All were cooked to perfection and had some left over for take home. Coffee was fresh brewed and cappuccino was also. Cheesecake was so tasty and a great compliment to a great meal. It's good food, plain and simply put. The meal didn't cost any more than it would in any other high end restaurant. And there is something on the menu for everyone. We will return very soon. read more

Words can't express my dining experience at Moe's Bistro yesterday. It was 5 Star Quality for sure. Over the top ambiance, service, food, and entertainment by guitarist Barry O and of course me singing Summertime was a great send off for my Mom. Kudos to Chef Moe for my Mom's delicious 1/2 chicken with scrumptious spicy shrimp mac & cheese and my extra tender short ribs with an exquisite sauce over pasta was out of this world. Truly a one of a kind dining experience! Moe and his staff are amazing people! From the service to the food everything was top notch! We started off with a shrimp cocktail and exotic grilled cheese.. Simply amazing taste and so many different flavors. We also got the vidalia onion soup.. Best soup I've ever had. It came with two coconut shrimp! Great food, great service and a great host! This was our first time at Moe's Bistro but, will definitely not be our last! Our steaks were cooked to perfection, portions were generous and elegantly placed on the plates. The staff was very friendly and Moe himself made an effort to come and greet us. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment from the moment we arrived. We were the only people there, yet the floor around our table was dirty with old Goldfish crackers and blueberries. We ordered the banana bread appetizer, an egg tortilla bowl, a western omelet, and two kids' waffles. The banana bread appetizer didn't come out until the rest of our food arrived, and everything was ice cold. The breakfast potatoes tasted old, as if they had been made the day before. While it wasn't ideal, we tried to be understanding since it was a holiday and the staff may have been overwhelmed. The highlight of the meal was the fresh-squeezed orange juice that we enjoyed with our BYOB champagne. However, no one checked on our table during the meal, and I eventually had to stop someone just to ask for the check. When reviewing the bill, I realized the kids' waffles seemed more expensive than expected. Sure enough, we had been overcharged for each one. When I politely questioned it, I was told, "That's the price in our register," and the staff gave me a hard time about correcting it. After asking again, they reluctantly handed me cash for the difference. The waitress was rude and dismissive throughout the interaction. Overall, it was such a disappointing experience, especially compared to how much we enjoyed it last year. Sadly, we'll be choosing a different spot for Mother's Day brunch next year.

The outdoor bar stops serving around 9:00 p.m., but we were able to move to a covered area near to the hotel restaurant and bar, which was equipped with heat lamps and provided a comfortable place to continue the evening. Service throughout the event was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend The Smokehouse for group gatherings, birthday parties, or a casual day out. There is plenty of space, the prices are reasonable, and the staff does a great job accommodating larger groups. Also, it's conveniently located not far from the train station.
