Ok, the smoked chicken was some of the best I've had. But the sides were sooooooo good. The field peas tasted just like my grandma's who is from MS. The collard greens with cornbread could be a meal by themselves. I'm so impressed! Note, it's a touch hot inside but they are smoking meat in a shack. Just go with it. read more

I walked right up and ordered the pulled pork platter with slaw and collards, I sat inside and it was very clean. My food was ready in about 5 minutes and all of it was delicious. The pork was seasoned very well, the sauce was tangy, the slaw with the red onion was a very nice surprise but for me the star was the collard greens, just enough vinegar and salt. I stopped in thinking the barbecue would be like Bucks. They were there before Moe's. When I got the brisket I was extremely surprised how tender and juicy the brisket was. I was overly impressed and it was some of the best smoked brisket I've ever had. The potato salad was excellent as well as the banana pudding. I will definitely go back. read more

There is no excuse for serving ice cold brisket that didn't have a lick of smokiness and baked beans that I would get at a school cafeteria. You get one type of bbq sauce that honestly doesn't taste that good. Brunswick stew was bland and the rib sandwich had a lot of inedible cartilage in it. The slaw was dry. The only thing semi redeeming was the tuna dip served with stale saltine crackers. However it was not even half as good as the older businesses Tina dip. The lemon wedges were the size of my pinky. There was also no ice in the soft drink machine. One of the cooks asked me how the food was and I said pretty good but I should've said pretty shitty. There are not enough bbq joints around to create any competition for this restaurant to keep up with, so they do the absolute bare minimum. I used to work in a kitchen and it is not hard at all to avoid all these problems. Very poor effort from everyone that worked there that day. I am never coming back. I'd give it 1/2 a star if I could. read more

Literally the most delicious Bar B Que I have ever eaten! We stopped by and picked up a "triple wide" with pork and turkey and it fed seven people with some leftover! The pork melts in your mouth and the turkey is outstanding! I am not usually a fan of turkey, but the seasoning and texture was incredible. The sides were the most amazing part. Usually, the sides at other BBQ joints are good for comfort, but bland. That is not the case here! I couldn't choose my favorite! The coleslaw was a huge hit. But I also loved the baked beans and collards. The mac and cheese was seasoned perfectly and nowhere near bland. I will make it a point eat here every time I come to Destin, which is about twice a month. My mouth is watering while writing this review. read more

I haven't written a review in over a year, but I am coming out of Yelp "retirement" because of the experience I received at Moe's. I planned my wedding rehearsal dinner at Moe's and Bret and his partners made the experience truly exceptional. Bret offered to rent out the venue, with 4 meats and 4 sides for a buffet dinner at the cost of $22 a person, which we found to be the best offer on the beach. It wasn't just the cost or the quality of the food (which was very good), but their service during the event that really put it over the top. A few of our guests were pescetarianism, so they put up a sign of the vegetarian sides and threw in alla cart orders as well as sides of catfish for free. I felt like this was something I would have seen in a tv show, but that is just how awesome it was to have our event at Moe's. It was the little things they did that really added up to make the night a total success. After the event they boxed up the leftovers and threw in a couple of sides that we wanted to try. My only regret was not knowing they offered brisket since that would have been on our menu but I didn't know they had it. read more

Hands Down best BBQ in a 50 mile radius. I will visit this Moe's EVERY time i come to town. The food is fresh and delicious! AND You will find the owners working hard in the back smoking the meats and hand making all sides daily. I had the pleasure of meeting the lady owners on my first trip there. Seriously amazing BBQ! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! We had pulled pork and ribs and the meat just fell off the bones. The cornbread is buttered and then grilled and is the best I've ever had. It's like they found the best recipe for all the traditional southern BBQ dishes and perfected them. Don't usually write reviews but this place was so good I had to. Not only was the staff nice the food was amazing. We ordered pork and chicken with sides and dessert to go and they made sure we had everything we needed and when the food got home it disappeared very quickly. Wish we lived here so we could enjoy it more often! If you're in the area and are looking for good barbecue this is the place for you. We are from out of town and happened to drive by. Decided BBQ sounded good. It was awesome! I loved the vibes the instant we walked in. And the food. Oh, good golly, the FOOD!! It was some of the best BBQ I have ever eaten. My husband and daughter and I each had something different and it was all good. Also, the way they fix the chicken and turkey sandwiches sounds gross, but just let them fix it the way they have it put together and trust they know what they are doing....because they do.
