Not all Moe's are created equal. A fast-food restaurant known for making decent Americanized Mexican food, most locations are pretty tasty. But the store adjacent to Auburn's campus is absolutely awful. Stale taco shells, chewy meat, tasteless cheese, and the overall poor quality here is literally disturbing! This must be the worst Moe's in the United States! It's bad enough that it costs $15 for three tacos before tax, which seems overpriced for such poor quality. This was my first time coming to this location and the customer service was amazing. The restaurant was nice and clean. My food was fresh and hot. Another thing is they put a decent amount of food in the bowl compared to other locations. Also, the chips and salsa were fresh. I definitely recommend this location! read more

Been to this Moe's way too many times throughout college, and every time I go it's a terrible experience, I've finally hit the point of never returning. My last time going there were 6-7 people working and I was the only one in the restaurant, took me 5+ minutes to get my burrito. I also ordered and paid for a small cheese dip, and to my surprise when I arrived home somehow the 6-7 workers all forgot to put it in my bag. The food also tastes terrible, definitely not cooked on par with other locations. Probably the worst Moe's I've ever been to, it seems like all the workers smoke pot on their lunch break and move around like zombies. This Moe's goes with the crew. It's usually college students so they come and go. Sometimes the burritos are great. Sometimes they aren't. I have logged 100 visits to this location and it's never the same. It also seems like the price is different each time as well. It's clean and the staff is mostly nice, but it's usually so crowded that the service isn't always great. Worst experience I've ever had at Moes. I order a homewrecker bowl and they barely covered the bottom of the bowl. I go back in and ask for a cup of rice and they give me a teeny tiny cup. Every single time I go to this Moes they forget something. Whether it's the side of queso, salsa or even adding chicken on my burrito they always forget at least one thing. This Moe's is the worst branch I've been to. Was in line for about an hour when the line wasn't even that long. I don't know why it wasn't moving. And that would have been okay if the workers were at least nice and polite but no. They were rude which made their inefficiency even worse. I came here obviously because I'm not from the south and this place had an uncanny resemblance to Chipotle so I had to try it. It also helped that a bunch of students in my class praised Moe's as being the 'better' Chipotle. Unfortunately, that's not what I got when I came here. The service was really annoying. No one seemed to understand what I said. I wanted the buffalo chicken jr. burrito. I said that at least 4 or 5 times and that I wanted 2 of them. They ended up giving me the homewrecker and the manager came up to me and said he had heard me say homewrecker. I don't know how you get buffalo chicken from homewrecker. I didn't even know that was on the menu. The food was lukewarm and cold in some parts of the burrito. Chipotle's ingredients tasted much fresher. The place wasn't that clean either. read more

I've never really cared too much for Moe's, but yet I've been strangely addicted to it. I like that they offer several vegetarian choices, (including pretty darn good marinated tofu!), but the quality of the food is always somewhat questionable to me. The rice in particular is always other undercooked or just dried out from sitting in the hot serving pan for hours. I don't know what the exact problem is, I just know that the rice is always hard and really chewy. At this particular Moe's location, there also seem to be some service issues. I've had my burrito torn several times, and they don't always offer to fix a new one for you. Sometimes the burrito is shaped more like a foot long hot dog in a bun than a burrito... but I guess, in the grand scheme of things, who cares if your burrito is long and skinny? It still has the same chewy-rice, sort-of-Mexican flavor. I went through a real Moe's phase for awhile where I craved it from time to time. This particular store has really fallen off the deep end. I still somehow find myself in here 1-2x a week because of their location and food, but the service is awful. The woman who took my order did not greet me with a smile and looked miserable. Before I decide on a protein, I often walk around the corner to visually inspect the meats to see what looks best or freshest that day. I proceeded to tell her my order and she said to come around the corner to give her my order. Nobody else was in line, and I continued with my order, as I was not going to walk 10' to tell her what I wanted, only to have to come back to where I would eventually end up (telling her rice, beans, etc.). Several times I've been in after 7, and the kitchen looks like a bomb went off-very disorganized. I dont think the food is going to carry the restaurant much longer. If you are looking for a place to get a burrito in town, I guess you can go to Moe's, but you might as well cut your tongue out and drink a few cups of salt water immediately afterward. I'm not saying that Moe's is bad, but if you are looking for a burrito, don't go here. Go to Moe's if you are looking for a quick bite to eat that's better than most everything else right around there. You could go to Mellow Mushroom just down the road, but it's going to take at least 30 minutes longer just to get your food. Not including eating it. And, the food isn't any better. Moe's is a fast food chain, but at least they know if and don't act like they aren't. Mellow Mushroom is also a chain, but they act like each place is its own invention. So this Moe's has never been great but they got the job done. The crew that is working tonight is the laziest and slowest crew I've ever seen. I would compare them to the McDonald's down the road which I think is the worst in the U.S. they keep waiting for someone else to do the work and weren't cooking things properly. The people working here were very unprofessional. One of the employees who was serving the food had an earbud in her ear listening to music. The other employee did not add guac to my meal because she read the burrito wrong, so I paid extra for nothing. They did not make eye contact nor were very friendly. Moe's is one of my favorite chain restaurants, but this is by far the worst one I've ever eaten at. I've tried it several times, because it is the only convenient location, but this spot consistently delivers amazingly poor quality and service, so much so that I've given up ever eating there. The employees are rude and rush you through the process, and incredibly nit picky, for example not allowing you to put queso included in a stacker on the side instead. This is probably due to having a bad manager who intimidates them. Employees are also incompetent and jaded - a big container of pico was nearly empty, with nothing but browned tomatoes and liquid left in the bottom, and the person making my burrito decided to pour it in rather than using the fresh container that had just come out. Stackers are consistently burned by being left on the grill too long. Stacker shells are replaced by tortilla chips because they can't manage their supply of shells properly. The salsa bar is usually empty when I check, and I have to ask someone to refill it, which is done grudgingly after 10 minutes. The trash cans are always full to overflowing. The floor is generally quite dirty, with food waste. I can see how this place doesn't need to care, considering that they get so much business from drunk college students in the bar next door, but I thought this review would be useful for anybody who is trying to have a quick, decent meal. read more

Let me start off by saying my wife and I love Moe's and have been going since they've been around. We used to live in Georgia and never really had a problem at one. This Moe's IS TERRIBLE! The worst Moe's I've ever been too. I could wrap unseasoned chicken/steak in a tortilla on my own. Don't get me wrong Moe's is great. As good as any Moe's anywhere. But it saddens me that this is the best Mexican place in Auburn.

The aesthetic is very dated, but not at all in a charming way. You get the feeling that a lot of really sweaty/greasy people have sat in the booths over the years, and it smells as such. The music is equally gross, 80s Rock which nobody's ever heard of. The food is very average. Not anywhere near good enough to redeem the horrible decor. been to a few moe's from atlanta, montgomery, and here. i was not impressed. i had a steak burrito and the steak was cold. how can they mess up a burrito? and they don't put much steak on the burrito either. it's no chipotle. i've been to chipotle little over 10 years ago in los angeles and i fall in love with it and been fan of chiplotle. i also love baja fresh. actually i prefer baja fresh over chipotle. but moe's in this particular location is not good...it's like this taquerlia type fast food joint is falling behind the pack. read more

We live close to the downtown Auburn area and were disappointed to find that they no longer deliver anymore, which we relied on quite often on the weekends since we have children. The food quality has gone significantly downhill in the past year as well. Our last order was completely messed up on 4 out of 6 items, and all of our food was either undercooked, cold, or missing side items altogether. This has been happening more often than not at this Magnolia Avenue location. We have now marked Moe's off our list of places to eat in this area. The quality of food and competent staff is at an all-time low. The restaurant is constantly messy/dirty as well. Chipotles is a MUCH better choice in the downtown area. Food is fresher and staff is much better trained. This Moe's needs to change (as it is a FAR cry from what it originally was when it was in the downtown area of Atlanta many years ago), or either move on. read more
