I was craving queso and stopped by Moes to treat myself. As usual, the queso was hot and creamy while the chips were crisp with a good bit of salt. Their burritos are always so big that I rarely finish them in one setting. This time I chose steak with rice, beans, lettuce, and a few other ingredients. It was one of those days I didn't know what I was craving. Yelp lead me to several places where I reviewed menus in the parking lot of many restaurants. I walked into here and was greeted by everyone working. They gave me time to make my decisions without pressure. I appreciate the food looked fresh so made my order. My nachos were packed separately as I requested. The guacamole was great and I wished I had requested more of it and sour cream instead of balking at the prices. Nonetheless I enjoyed all my other decisions except for the guacamole & sour cream. The building and parking lot were clean. There weren't any other customers and I failed to inspect the facilities. The employees were extremely nice and one even walked me outside because they could see I was weak. Kudus and thank you. They even refused when I offered a tip. Said they would hope their Mom was helped if she needed it. I will return to this location whenever I'm in the area. I'm a frequent visitor to this location. The food is always good and fresh and I love being able to order in the app and gain points. I build my own burrito and love the green salsa! My only complaint is that the tables are always dirty. I never stay to eat because it seems like every table is covered in crumbs and trash. I have always gotten great service and great food at this location. As with any franchise, the layout of this location is slightly different and throws me off a little from the one I typically go to. Today is National Nacho Day and Moe's was offering $4.99 nachos with their app. This is a good deal considering the regular price is over $8. You could choose your protein and toppings. The nachos are topped with Moe's famous queso. I have been to Moe's several times and I'm always disappointed. The food is just okay to me. Not good, not bad, just okay. I have tried a burrito, burrito bowl, salad bowl, and today the nachos. It has all been mediocre. I think this might be my last time. read more

I crave Moe's every once in awhile and I haven't been impressed with any location here in Birmingham. This location in particular always seems to have toppings that have been sitting out for longer than they should be. I've been here 3 times and all three of those times I'd be lucky to have food that is close to even being warm. Even the chips are stale and cold for all of my visits here. I feel that I'd absolutely unacceptable. The staff is a bit inattentive as I had to repeat my orders more than once on some occasions. Tables arent constantly wiped down and booths feel sticky. I probably will stay away from Moe's for the time being. read more

I have visited this location many times. I like that they have the option to build your bowl and customize your order. I would say about half the time when I go there I opt for no meat - sometimes their meat looks a little questionable. As far as pricing, it's not bad for the quantity of food you get, and it's usually enough for me to take some leftovers home which I enjoy. When I get Moe's, I usually just order it on the app for pickup, but recently their app hasn't been working on my phone, so I just went in and got it. The staff is friendly, and it really doesn't take that long to build a bowl. There are not really any COVID-19 precautions in order anymore. Overall, I would absolutely go back! read more

It was interesting to see the changes made from the last time I went pre-COVID.  Most seating was put away, there were a few booths open but it was every other/spaced out. There were marked x's on the floor to show safe distances. There had always been a partition between you and behind the counter. All the workers were wearing masks and gloves.  I got a burrito and chips, which was very good. The music was a little loud so talking to the guy taking my order and put cheese on it when I didn't necessarily want it but it didn't ruin burrito so it didn't bother too much.  The salsa was in pre-portioned plastic containers which isn't the most sustainable but was nice to not have the communal salsa bowls like they used to.  My burrito was wrapped in foil and was handed everything in a paper bag. Still waiting on my refund from September for the order I didn't receive! I placed a mobile order on my way home. As I'm pulled into the parking spot, the workers were rushing to turn off the open sign and lock the door. I tried calling the store and no one answered. When I got to the register the chic just walked away so Rachel not only made my food but had to ring me up. I enjoy Moe's. It's where I go to get my fill of burritos, chips, and salsa. I've been to this particular location twice. The first time I went, I was disappointed. The burrito I received the first time was underwhelming and poorly made. This time, however, they've redeemed themselves. My burrito was stuffed and tasted amazing. The chips were slightly stale though. I think the quality of the food probably depends on what time you go because the first time I went was an off lunch time while the second time I went was right around lunch. So keep that in mind. It's a good place to go if you're wanting not really Mexican food, but not Taco Bell either--a happy medium. read more

Overall, Moe's is a convenient place to eat and my experience was a good one. I have only been here once or twice in the past so I didn't have any firm expectations. I ended up going for lunch and I was the only one there, so I got my order really quick. I also noticed they have a great selection of food. I chose to get the burrito bowl, on my way up to order, the staff was friendly and inviting. I decided to dine-in at this location, they offered COVID friendly precautions although their empty tales were slightly dirty giving me a lack of options to sit at. I ordered the Billy Barou Chicken and it was really good! Of course you get to add your own fixings so each person will have their unique version. I think the chipotle ranch sauce is a great addition to the nacho's, gives it a distinct taste. This place had very fresh toppings and the jalapeño's were great! This place is the bomb. I went here every Monday for about a year and a half for Moe's Monday because the deal was unbeatable and I need my almost daily dose of Tex Mex lol. This Moe's is always clean and most of the time the salsa bar is stocked. The staff is usually friendly... the last time I went, the guy who took my order was super friendly and accommodating of my order, but other times I have been, I have had to argue with people to get the right price or ask multiple times in order to get a full scoop of beef. Well... that was a seriously disappointing trip to Moe's. Have been eating it for years in several states as we've moved around and this was definitely the worst on all levels. I should've known from the very dirty front door how it was going to end up but I hadn't eaten anything literally all day and was starving with very few food options around. Staff seemed clueless, had to re-wrap my Joey and when they got done it was missing one end and looked like it had bites out of it from being ripped up. I've never had a true open ended burrito at Moe's. Food was obviously old and we received it cold. Chicken was so rubbery or it tasted like acidic char from over cooking that I had to spit it out. Tortillas were stale so tasted like cardboard. My husband threw away most of his bc it was so bad. They didn't ask if we were eating there or to go but just bagged it up trying to hurry us out so we had to eat out of the bag at the table. Had to go back up for the side of queso I asked for during my order. I asked about the hot sauce they always have out at the salsa bar which is standard at every Moe's I've been to and the cashier just looked at me like I was stupid and just said "no we don't have nothing like that, just buffalo ranch". Turns out they do have buffalo sauce which I would've been OK even tho it's not the running hot sauce they always have but she specifically said buffalo ranch which they don't serve. But that was fine, because after watching her put her long hair back up into a bun and not wash her hands before going back behind the counter, it was probably best she didn't touch anything I was eating. I was in the food industry a long time and know a health violation when I see one. This was one of the kind of meals all around from food quality to sanitary standards that you really hope you don't get sick from... Fair warning if you visit that location. read more

The queso dip was super yummy. I liked the salsa bar with all the options. But the burritos were just....ok. They were big, but bigger is not always better. I think the fillings lacked quality. But my opinion maybe biased...I am just spoiled on Chipotle. I haven't found anywhere else that serves burritos as delicious as Chipolte. Uh, it really takes a lot for me to give out just one star, but this place really took the cake in terms of dissatisfaction. When we walked in the employee didnt even greet us, she just kept talking to her friend for a bit and pretended not to see us. From there I knew this experience was really gonna blow. Anyway I ordered a regular burrito on wheat, black beans, chicken, cheese, onions, tomato, cilantro, black olives... you know the standard for me. Well once she got all the ingredients, she proceeded to MIX the contents of the burrito making it it look like this brown bean stuff and rolled it. My husband and I looked at each other and thought it to be odd, but whatever. When we tried it, all the flavors were just diminished and just ended up tasting of bean goo. Once those toppings were mixed it killed the soul of that burrito. I'm sorry, that was one of the worst Moe's burritos I have ever had and one of the worst customer service experiences. I am not coming back here, you are better off going to the one near UAB, they can serve a real burrito. read more

We love Moe's. No hormones, for starts. Lots of choices, free chips, and if you want to dive into the queso, it's good and reasonable priced. Free salsas, as much as you like. Free refills. What's not to like, really? This is your basic Moe's Southwest Grill, and as always, a pleasure. Friendly staff, everything that should be hot is hot, service is quick and portions appropriate to the cost. There's a very nice outdoor seating area - covered, which is great on a warm and sunny day - the restrooms are super clean, and the various salsas are what you'd expect from a Moe's. My one quarrel was with the drinks. ALL the diet drinks were "sold out" and unavailable. There was no choice for plain soda water or seltzer. The only non-sugar choices were unsweet tea, or plain water. This is unfortunate, because at a time when most of our country needs to lose weight, at least a club soda would be welcome.
