I have been getting botox for 20 years with excellent results. I have always gone to a skilled…read morecosmetic physician to have my botox. However, I recently moved to Boston and after reading good reviews about SkinDeep Med Spa I decided to give it a try. I went to see Michelle Cory (a nurse injector) I explained that I wanted to reduce forehead wrinkles and crows feet but wanted to look natural. While getting my injection, I noticed that Michelle was not as careful as my previous providers while injecting. She also gave me more units of botox than I usually get. Several days later I noticed my left eye had started to droop. Droopy eyelids (called ptosis) are a known but rare complication of botox. It can happen if the toxin (botox) inadvertently spreads to the muscles that are responsible for lifting the eyebrow or the eyelid. This subsequently weakens or paralyzes the lid and gives the droopy eye. This (droopy eye) occurs if the injection is too deep, too close to the muscles, or the dose is too high, all of which are due to clinician error. This complication will likely last eight weeks. It appears Michelle injected the botox too close to my eyebrows and also likely gave me too much botox both of which led to my droopy eye. I went back to see Michelle with my complication and she admitted that this had happened before to her clients. She prescribed some drops which unfortunately, are not very effective. Other than that, she was no help managing the complication she caused to my eye and has not checked in with me since the incident occurred to see how I was doing. I am now out $600 for this procedure, and look quite disfigured. I read online that it is very important to choose a medically qualified, skilled and experienced injector who understands the risks of the botox procedure and will approach new patients with caution to decrease risk. Michelle (at SkinDeep Med Spa on Newbury Street) was not careful and likely lacked the clinical experience/training to avoid my complication. As I said, I have had botox for 20 years without complications. I will be reporting this complication to the FDA but wanted to share my experience so that others may avoid this issue. Think twice before booking an appointment at SKINDEEP MED SPA for botox as complications can be serious, disfiguring and even life threatening. I will be going to a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist for all my future botox.

I've attached photos of the results I've received at Skin Deep…read more First is a Before and After of lip filler. This lump of product took 5-6 return visits to dissolve with hyalurondaise. It finally went away. I asked for a refund for the huge hassle. I was denied. Instead. I was offered a complimentary service. It was suggested I treat the tear trough. I agreed. Next you will see the results of that. The tear trough was injected too superficially. Rather than dissolve this mistake, the solution was to again- do more-- for free. Then, an entire syringe of product was injected to "correct" and fill in the areas around the bag under my eye. This is the result weeks after swelling. You will also see an incorrectly placed Botox injection to mentalis (the chin) my mouth was approximately 40% paralyzed for 6 weeks. I wasn't able to speak and laugh at the same time. My mouth was distorted and embarrassing. When I showed Skin Deep my result in person, the reply was "it looks fine" "I don't see anything" At that point, I refused any more "complimentary corrections" and asked for a refund. I got one for $600 My under eye is still lumpy and uneven but I am working with a new highly-skilled, caring Doctor to correct the issue. The next photo you will see is 1 of 4 attempts that have been made by my doctor to get my medical records released from Skin Deep so we can know exactly WHAT substance was injected into my eye so that we can fix this. Skin Deep flat-out refused to release them to me personally. Why? I don't know. Now my doctor is involved and they have stopped responding......

He is an amazing physician and person. The staff is so gracious and professional I can't say enough about all of them. Robin the office manager is so professional and personable at the same time. Dr. Doherty is wonderful as well. They now have Dr. Sanan and Dr. Moustafa that bring new talent and procedures to the practice and are both talented and incredible doctors also! I have had nothing but excellent experiences with all of the doctors at this practice they all have unique and top notch expertise.

If you are looking for the consummate professional, you have found her in Dr, DiGiorgio…read more I have seen quite a few dermatologists for different cosmetic procedures and she is by far the best. Here is what separates her from the rest (in my opinion): -Honesty- when I have asked her opinion she had always been honest in letting me know what will and won't work and how. Additionally, she has always taken her time in explaining everything to me so I have a clear idea of what to expect- result, down time, etc. -Care- she truly cares that her patients look their best. There are doctors who will look at you, do a procedure and are out of the room. Dr, DiGiorgio takes her time to ensure that you are comfortable and that you will truly achieve the best possible result. She cares that her patients are happy! -an amazing eye for what will work, symmetry, etc. I trust her. I know she will only do something that will look good. Honestly, if she tells you to do something- do it. -she really does have an "angel's touch". She makes the experience pretty painless. I am thrilled I finally found a Dr. with her level of education, knowledge, and talent. Will not go anywhere else.

I've been coming here for close to 8 months now and have had 6 treatments…read more First one was on my neck(left side) and I was able to get a cover up tattoo after ONE treatment and the pain was a little bad, but not terrible. I had Nova and she was very kind and quick. Second session and third were on my left forearm(The top then underneath) it has faded a ton. It still even fades a little each day. I still need at least 2 more treatments, but one got me 1/3 of the way. I had Maya the second time, who was very kind and entertaining. She made feel very welcome and comfortable! The third time I had Chelsea and she is just the sweetest person ever! The fourth and fifth was on my shoulder blade through the top of my arm and damn it hurts like hell... but again Chelsea was quick and very attentive. It has been about 5 weeks and the piece is almost gone! One part was went over twice and it's just unbelievable! I have an appointment for a cover up piece at the end of the month. And the final was on my other shoulder blade through the top of my left arm. It's been 2 weeks and it's melting away day by day. Finding this place has changed everything and I'm so excited for all of the new pieces I have coming soon thanks to tataway!!!

I've been coming to Removery for 7 months now, I've completed 4 sessions as they take appointments…read more6 weeks apart from each other, and I am satisfied with the removal process and the removal associates. That being said, when I signed up, I purchased their smallest package for a very small tattoo for $1500. Since my purchase, they have had multiple 50% off sales, so I definitely feel that I got a bad deal and would advise anyone to wait for their sales to make a purchase. I've also looked into other places that are not as expensive, although I can't comment on the quality of their associates or removal process. I'm writing a review prematurely to the finish of my tattoo because I have been told every time I come in to write a review, and I don't prefer to write reviews before the job is done but I know they will ask me again at my upcoming appointment. I would prefer not to be reminded of writing a review every time I come in, as I do write reviews regularly and I will update the public when I feel it is necessary. I would suggest to the business owner that they refrain from pressuring customers into writing reviews at every visit.
