They told me I need to just "be patient." Terrible practice, stay away.

I remember him going back and forth from one side of the table to the other to really look at the area as he proceeded, he was meticulous. He also was very calming, talking to me as he worked. I find the treatment quite painful (and I normally have a high tolerance) so this is very much appreciated. She then works quick and efficient but still very meticulous and precise so there's minimal pain with maximum results. Afterwards my lips were swollen for a few days naturally but no bruising at all. In short: I have the exact result I wanted and would highly recommend Michelle for lip fillers! Besides being a pro she's also super personable and fun :) As for Michelle, I can't say enough praise for Anna! She's so knowledgable about skin and tailors your facial exactly to your needs. No cookie cutter treatments here! I had a hydra-facial but she added in a few other techniques to maximize the affects of my treatment. My skin is glowing and feels so soft! I'm getting married soon so wanted to add in micro-needling but Anna advised against it saying my skin is too delicate and just doesn't need it. However, I recently moved to Boston and after reading good reviews about SkinDeep Med Spa I decided to give it a try. I went to see Michelle Cory (a nurse injector) I explained that I wanted to reduce forehead wrinkles and crows feet but wanted to look natural. While getting my injection, I noticed that Michelle was not as careful as my previous providers while injecting. She also gave me more units of botox than I usually get. Several days later I noticed my left eye had started to droop. Droopy eyelids (called ptosis) are a known but rare complication of botox. It can happen if the toxin (botox) inadvertently spreads to the muscles that are responsible for lifting the eyebrow or the eyelid. This subsequently weakens or paralyzes the lid and gives the droopy eye. This (droopy eye) occurs if the injection is too deep, too close to the muscles, or the dose is too high, all of which are due to clinician error. This complication will likely last eight weeks. It appears Michelle injected the botox too close to my eyebrows and also likely gave me too much botox both of which led to my droopy eye. I went back to see Michelle with my complication and she admitted that this had happened before to her clients. She prescribed some drops which unfortunately, are not very effective. Other than that, she was no help managing the complication she caused to my eye and has not checked in with me since the incident occurred to see how I was doing. I am now out $600 for this procedure, and look quite disfigured. I read online that it is very important to choose a medically qualified, skilled and experienced injector who understands the risks of the botox procedure and will approach new patients with caution to decrease risk. Michelle (at SkinDeep Med Spa on Newbury Street) was not careful and likely lacked the clinical experience/training to avoid my complication. As I said, I have had botox for 20 years without complications. I will be reporting this complication to the FDA but wanted to share my experience so that others may avoid this issue. Think twice before booking an appointment at SKINDEEP MED SPA for botox as complications can be serious, disfiguring and even life threatening. I will be going to a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist for all my future botox.

I'm writing a review prematurely to the finish of my tattoo because I have been told every time I come in to write a review, and I don't prefer to write reviews before the job is done but I know they will ask me again at my upcoming appointment. I would prefer not to be reminded of writing a review every time I come in, as I do write reviews regularly and I will update the public when I feel it is necessary. I've been working with Katie on HRT in combination with medical weight loss for several months now - and I cannot express how thankful I am to have her and Vega be my support system! I had two initial conversations/meetings with Katie before we started on any regiments - one of these included blood work so she would understand my baseline health. Once the results came back Katie and I had a zoom call where she spent a solid 45 minutes going over my labs and explaining what each item meant, its impact to my health/body and the ranges. I'm 36 - I've had plenty of blood work done over the years, never once had a doctor spent as much time explaining things to me like Katie did. I learned so much and appreciated it so much. Since that initial review, we have done lab work another time and I got the same attention and conversation the second time. She recommend vitamins/supplements - all ones she herself used or that others at Vega use. This gave me additional confidence in the recommendations given. I left our initial conversations with tons of information and ideas - but zero pressure to commit. Ultimately, I ended up decided on a medical weight loss regime and supplements for hormone balancing. The pricing of everything was incredibly clear and what I appreciated the most is the continued time, support and education. I feel so much more comfortable seeing people in person vs doing anything strictly mail order and on my own. Katie met me where I was comfortable and has been supportive, patient and amazing. I've had noticeably increased energy, less bloating and steady weight loss since starting to work with Katie. I couldn't be happier with my results - and the continued support from Katie and Vega overall. I've been a long time client of Vega - and of Ashley since the early days! I've been incredibly impressed as they have grown but maintained the excellent quality, consistency and personal relationships with all clients. They have been consistently thoughtful as they made additions to the team and services offered. Further, the focus on education as they expanded the practice has been incredible. I've had consistent cosmetic botox (forehead, crow's-feet, bunny lines) and masseter muscle botox (for teeth grinding/TMJ/tension headaches) from Ashley and Chantal. They have both answered my questions and made thoughtful recommendations as I tried different treatments. I trust them extensively - and since I see them more frequently than my derm, I've had much better conversations and results when its come to cosmetic questions/building a routine along side them. I recently started seeing Jill for facials on their recommendation after experiencing heightened sensitivity due to damaged skin barrier from over use of at home products (I blame Instagram's skin care videos during covid lockdowns :) ). I have been to Vega Vitality three times and each appointment did not disappoint! I first saw Ashley for Dysport injections and she made me feel extremely comfortable doing it for the first time. She took so much time to talk with me and answer all of my questions, it was truly a personalized experience. The results were great - very natural yet the appearance of my crows feet and my 11s were much improved! I have since gone back for a second round and even brought my mom in for her first Dysport injections. My mom was very nervous but Ashley took a lot of time to chat with her, made her feel very comfortable, and my mom couldn't be happier with the results. She is amazed. We have also both seen Jill for dermaplaning, hydrafacials, and brows. We have gotten many facials over the years and Jill is the top of the line. I have SO many things to say about VegaVitality. * I was having the most awful acne breakouts since coming off birth control and no products/treatments were working. Jill (Back Bay) gave me the best facial of my life and gave me products and my skin has NEVER looked better. I've never gotten compliments on my skin ever and I have had more compliments over the last month that I don't even know what to do with! Jill is an ANGEL!!!! 2: I got Botox with Maggie (Back Bay) and she was INCREDIBLY meticulous. I am on blood thinners so I typically bruise and bleed easily. I'm not really one for writing reviews but hands down when it comes to fillers and Botox VEGA Vitality is the only place I will ever go to! First of all Ashley who is the owner is one of the kindest, sweetest, and most down to earth person I have ever met. I was always curious about fillers and Botox and reached out to her after reading several reviews. I actually sent her a picture of myself to see if it was even worth me going in. I was very scared about the process, of it would hurt how I would look. But Ashely reassured me that I would look nothing but natural. I found this place off yelp/ Instagram after trying a few other places in Boston and even NYC for lip fillers and forehead Botox. I've been here twice with Sofia and I'm really happy with my results. I got jaw Botox and cheek filler (Voluma) for the first time. Sofia is really good at what she does and I let her do whatever she thought would be best for placement, etc. She was very open about the different types of fillers available so I could make the decision on my own without feeling pushed into any direction. Also on my follow up appointment I wanted to get something else done that wasn't originally planned and Sofia was able to fit me in her schedule which I appreciated. I originally came in because I was having horrible breakouts and nothing would help - dermatologists, expensive skincare, medications. After meeting with Meredith for a free consultation I immediately felt optimistic. She looked at my skin and provided advice on my diet, current products I was using, and several simple changes to make before I even made an appointment. After that I booked a VEGA 60 with her and felt so refreshed. After going every 4-6 weeks for one for about 5 months, my skin has never looked better. Ive been seeing Chantal for all my Botox needs and I can't get enough ! I started off getting the lip flip which i was in love with! It gave my lips a tiny bit more pout than I naturally had. It's quick and easy and totally affordable with it only being 4 units of Botox. A few weeks ago i decided to get fillers in my lips, which I was super nervous about but Chantal assured me they wouldn't be too dramatic and that the pain would be minimal. I have been going to vega since it opened for botox. Ashley, the owner, is extremely professional and kind and takes her time to do botox the right way. I have seen enormous results since I started doing it on my forehead and the bridge of my nose. I used to have deep wrinkles that I thought would never go away, however seeing her every 6 months or so I've gotten amazing results. Not to mention the view from the office is amazing and overlooks Copley Square. The space is also extremely clean and the whole staff is very welcoming and kind. I used to be an esthetic nurse injector myself, so speaking from experience Ashley is PHENOMENAL! I will never go anywhere else to get my botox ever again. She is very knowledgable and will not push sales on products or treatments that she doesn't believe you will benefit from. She is a very natural injector and won't make you look overdone. Prices are reasonable (especially for Boston) and they usually have a referral discount. I could not be happier with all of the services I've received at VEGA Vitality. My physical appearance is very important for my TV job & I don't trust just anyone for even something as minor as a facial. I've had numerous skin "services" and have never been anything but ecstatic about the outcome. Prices are average (not too high even though they are located in the Back Bay) Their office is clean and Ashley couldn't be any nicer. The staff and the atmosphere here is amazing. I have been seeing Chantal and I simply adore her. I started going to Vega earlier this year for hydrafacials. Before I knew it I was trying Vivace and then just recently some "baby botox". I am in love with the results. I cannot recommend Maggie at Vega enough. This was my first time coming here for lip filler and Maggie was a true artist. She was so thoughtful and kind during the whole appointment and made me feel so comfortable. I loved how she had me sit up at a few different points to check how they looked throughout the appointment. It was so evident how amazing she is at her job and how much pride she takes in her work. I got a facial and massage my first time there and have been hooked ever since. I get regular hydrafacials here and started laser hair removal too. The hydrafacials have really transformed my skin. I love them and always leave there glowing. The laser treatments have been going well so far - I wouldn't call them fun or relaxing by any means but they're effective! The staff here has always been super lovely. My usually aesthetician moved this year so I started going to new people (I can't remember their names) but they're also lovely. I'll also note that spa treatments are not cheap but skin spa ALWAYS has a deal going on so you can get good discounts and once you purchase a service, it doesn't expire. I love them.

Everyone is doing it differently, some charge you for a calming mask, some give it as a compliment to the service. I found it very confusing and frustrating. The worst is their behavior around tipping for med spa services. They blatantly and aggressively tried to get me to tip for those, literally trying to shame into paying it by loudly requesting a tip in front of everyone at the front desk, in addition to a big tablet with a tip suggestion (of 20,25 etc % expectation clearly listed) shoved in my face. This is a shady practice trying to indicate to a patient that this kind of tip is expected on a med spa procedure. Industry norms within healthcare generally favor transparent, all-inclusive pricing rather than gratuity-based compensation. This principle typically applies to services provided within medical spas, regardless of whether a specific treatment is performed by a medical provider or an esthetician. Because the service is offered under the medical spa's clinical umbrella and within a healthcare-related environment, patients reasonably expect the advertised price to reflect the full cost of care. Soliciting tips in this setting can create confusion regarding pricing, blur professional boundaries, and undermine the distinction between healthcare services and traditional hospitality services. The business acknowledges med spa separation from their day spa services. You receive multiple emails, forms to sign, etc. indicating a treatment that is treated as a procedure done under medical setting. It should be left to a patient discretion to provide a token of gratuity if they decide to do so, but in the med spa setting, there should not be expectation of the same tipping practice as for the traditional day spa services. I was very taken aback by these practices. This behavior was not present at other branches, but unfortunately those have been closed or will be closed.

My injector was was also just weird. Made me uncomfortable and kept trying to sell me other procedures and I had to repeat myself maybe 5 times explaining all I wanted was Botox, but she just wasn't getting it and I was getting really frustrated. When I was checking out they told me I needed to schedule a three week follow up. I told them that was unnecessary, I would call with any concerns. They were pushy and wouldn't let me leave until I scheduled. When I kept insisting I didn't want the appointment the owner even made a snarky remark "have you even ever had Botox?"..... They ended up making the appointment and I canceled over text.... They then immediately asked me when I wanted to come back for my Botox. Never said I wanted to..... 24 hours before my canceled apt I got a text telling me to confirm and saying I would be charged if I didn't show up.... Thought I had cancelled? They were just rude, pushy, judgmental and made me uncomfortable. No shot I go back

Dr. Frieling is nice and high energy. However, she seemed a bit defensive when I came back 3 weeks after my Botox treatment to ask for a touch more in one area to make both sides of my forehead even. I wasn't upset about it at all, as I know our anatomy doesn't respond symmetrically. I wasn't accusatory in any way. So I was surprised at her reaction. But even if I did express disappointment, I would not expect a physician to react defensively. She didn't want to give me more on one side, said the results are exactly what she wanted to achieve. So I asked her if she thought it looked even. And she said "well, no", and then proceeded to give me a touch more, which evened it out after a week or so. Maybe she was just having a bad day... who knows? But that was my experience. She has a lot of positive reviews so take my review as just one person's experience. I just want to feel that I can ask for fixes, or at least have a constructive conversation, if I feel the treatment didn't accomplish what I wanted it to. Also her "About Dr. G" section on her website makes it sound like she went to Harvard when she did not. "Harvard trained". She is triple board certified, which is terrific, and has gotten a lot of press due to her PR efforts. She seems to be highly knowledgeable and skilled, as one would expect. She has a very "LA vibe" to her, which is not the vibe I want. (And I really like the city of LA - nothing against it. But I don't want to look overdone.) Also, her nurses do a lot of the treatments, and I just prefer a physician do them. So I will stick with a dermatologist office rather than this med-spa.

I have been getting Botox to my forehead periodically at ideal image for about 10-12 dollars a unit so it would cost approx 300 per session. I went to GFaceMD to see if there was a better, longer lasting solution as I didn't have time to go for Botox every 3mo with my busy schedule. What an enormous costly mistake! First you have to pay a 175 consultation fee (normally this is free) just to be told to continue to do the same thing I was already doing. Then their Botox prices are outrageous. You have to become a "VIP member" to get the 16 dollar per unit price (already much more than I was paying elsewhere without a membership). The membership has a 50 fee and then a 6mo mandatory period of deductions (350 minimum price). You can only use you membership funds at their business and they set the rules how how and when you can use your money. With the "vip member" pricing I paid 544 for the same Botox that usually cost me 300. I tried to schedule a follow up visit to use my 300 in membership funds toward some more overpriced Botox but my child got sick and they charged my credit card 200 more as a rescheduling fee!!!! Total cost for one area of Botox (300 value) =. 175 consultation, 544 Botox, 350 vip membership, 200 rescheduling = 1,269. Total rip off!!!!!! Save your money and go literally anywhere else!!!

After 6+ weeks going to Skin Laundry on Newbury Street, we've seen zero results from the facial…read morelaser treatments. The sessions are extremely short, and despite going consistently, there's been no visible improvement at all. What's frustrating is that we've seen better results from just ONE session at another clinic in the past, so we know what effective treatment should look like. This has been a big disappointment in comparison. They also lock you into a 4-month contract (3 sessions/month for $275), which feels unfair given the lack of results. While their marketing and front desk service are polished, the actual treatment has been underwhelming. Based on our experience, this has not been worth the money.
