    Banh mi with grilled chicken
    Elvira O.

I visited Moi Vietnamese Grill to pick up banh mi sandwiches for lunch. I ordered grilled chicken and traditional banh mi veggies (carrots, daikon, cilantro) to go inside my sandwich. They have lots of other veggies options to choose from and they are very generous with their sandwich filings too. The grilled chicken was delicious, soft, and juicy. The vegetables added a nice crunch and sweetness. I also got a side of the traditional banh mi sauce and Moi's signature sauce, both delicious in the sandwich! Will be coming back for more!

I've had Moi before and have enjoyed the food. My most recent experience wasn't that great. The bahn mi I had I wasn't too impressed. When I think of a good bahn mi, I'm thinking of a French bread with a golden crunchy crust. The bread that it was served with was pale. While it was cooked, the bread had the texture of dough. The grilled pork had good flavor but was a bit on the chewier side (a bit over cooked). I did have some concerns on the service. The person making my sandwich used the same pair of gloves. Touching the iPad between making sandwiches, they touched their hair, their hair was not tied all the way and hair hung over the bahn mi as it was being made.

This place is really nice. The food was good and service was nice. I brought an out of town guest with me and they enjoyed their plate as well.

Mini Moi with shrimp (3) $11.75

Our last four to go orders have been way different than pre-pandemic quality. I have emailed the business previously just to let them know because we loved eating at Moi and want them to be around for a long time. I've never ask for or expect a discount or anything. I just wanted to give feedback because we have been eating at Moi from day one and it has been a family favorite. The Mini Moi kid bowl is what my kids always pick. Today they asked for shrimp. It was 3.75 extra. Ok, sure, let's do it. With shrimp, the mini Moi it's $11.75 but you only get three tiny shrimp and that's it (see pic). The bbq pork, beef, chicken and tofu are all very tasty and it's great to have veggie options with warm proteins. We enjoy our bowls. We will continue to support this business because we want them to be around for a long time. I know they struggle with being short staffed as well.

Pork Bahn Mi with the works!

This place is amazing! We've driven by it at least a thousand times but have only just tried it for the first time today. We LOVED their grilled chicken fresh spring rolls, loaded with delicious protein and veggies. The chicken was surprisingly moist and it filled us up quickly, we had trouble eating the main course. Their bahn mi's are huuuuge! I'm so full right now as I'm writing this... (zzz). I'm no expert on bahn mi's but I am very satisfied with our meal. The traditional pork bahn mi with all the toppings came out to be around $6.50, a good deal in my book. I can see ourselves being regulars at this place!

Moi is a great option for great Vietnamese Food but please follow this one recommendation, I would avoid the banh mi. The wife got the banh mi and I got a Vermicelli bowl and an order of egg rolls. My wife is Vietnamese and her main complaint was the banh mi bread. The bread tastes doughy and soft when it is suppose to be more toasted and crispy I thoroughly enjoyed my vermicelli bowl, the pork was super flavorful and I was able to add as many toppings as I wanted. Portions were huge and I left quite satisfied. The egg rolls were kind of cold and stale. I will probably pass on these next time. Going to stick with my go to vermicelli bowl next time. Great portion for a great price.

You can't really call a sandwich banhmi with a bread this pale, it looked like it saw a ghost. Banh mi is notorious for being so crusty it cuts the top of your mouth, so you know this place don't make banh mi. There were also not butter and pate spread, and when asked to add the "traditional toppings" (an option on the menu, not something we created), they put lettuce on there. Lettuce is NOT a banh mi vegetable. I would not have paid the special price of $6 Tuesday specials if I had known this was the standard. Much less the original price, without the Tuesday special. However, the meats were marinated well and though the bread was small, they did stuff it with lots of meats and vegetables so the special price was kind of worth it if you're looking for a sub. Not banh mi though. The moi special sauce was a light lemongrass sauce which is decent for a rice or noodle bowl. Guess the high ratings here speak more about the bowls than the bread. TLDR not a banhmi place but you can try the bowls I guess.

The food was very good here, the chicken was juicy and hot, and I like how you are able to select all of the toppings and sauces you want. I don't think I have been to Vietnamese restaurant that allows you to customize your order as much as you can here, which I enjoy! The egg rolls were very tasty but they weren't the most fresh. Almost everything here was great except the restrooms, which were really dirty.

Grill BBQ Pork with Zucchini Noodles base. Fresh and good as it looks!

For my real viets, don't be too hesitant because I do confirm that they don't skimp out on the traditional Vietnamese ingredients including (sprouts, cilantro, mint, crush peanuts, fried shallots, etc.) I love this place and think it deserves more attention! Stole my business idea! This is a chipotle style Vietnamese grill restaurant. We're talking pick your base (vermicelli noodles, rice, or zucchini noodles), protein (tofu, bbq grills pork, chicken, beef), and vegetable toppings. The portions are HUGE! The pork is still tender and juicy, flavorful but not too powerful. You can tell that you're eating good quality and not thinly chopped up meat that becomes unrecognizable. Vegetables and toppings are fresh, cold and crisp. Fish sauce the right amount - not too sweet not to salty. The owners HAS to be viet! It is a struggle as a Vietnamese American to go on a low carb diet if our grown up pallet is of rice and noodles. The fact that this place offers zucchini noodles is a life saver. The only worry you got now is to portion control yourself . Prior to my date, I tried the vermicelli and it was also great - fresh and springy. If you live or work close by, definitely give it a try. They are quick and can be grab and go option if you're deprived of healthy viet food without the wait and struggling with the Dell Café.... Apparently they offer Pho now which I have yet to try. Holler at me if you try it!

    Veronica R.

Small menu but I liked that. Explained it was my first time and they slowed down the assembly line to assist and explain process. Food had good flavor and enjoyed my meal for the most part. The rice noodles are served cold which I don't like. Rice is hot, why not the noodles? Made what would have been a great meal cold. Please serve hot/warm. Other than that, I loved it.

The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

The constant scraping of metal chairs on concrete and the echo chamber the tall blank walls and bare metal ceiling causes was equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for the whole meal. Additionally , the music volume was SO high. I think someone went up to talk to them About the noise and the employee just looked like he didn't care , wouldn't look at her and just kept shrugging and making a "what can you do face". The beef had a sweet bulgogi glaze that worked really well with it. The rest of the toppings added a nice balance without overpowering the meat. My only wish was that it was 4 baos and not two since they are so small. The highlight was the Firecracker Shrimp. Be warned this is not a spicy dish like you might think from the name. The crispy shrimp was crunchy and not soggy at all, it felt pretty clean and not greasy. It came with salad, rice and a spicy soy sauce and it was just so good. With 12 shrimp, it's definitely shareable between 2 people. Lastly we had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was $6. It tasted like Ovaltine and was mostly ice with just a few sips. I wouldn't recommend it unless the cup size is increased or the price is decreased. So overall, it's a bit pricey. The menu was also a little confusing.
