This place is hands down the WORST medical establishment I have ever dealt with and I've dealt with…read moremany. Their business model does not value patient satisfaction, efficiency or communication. They deserve a zero rating. First, there is one central phone number for all office locations and they are a third party call center that is "not local". If you have a question (regarding prescriptions, surgery, etc), you have to explain it to the person that answers and they will either put you on hold or call you back to relay information obtained from someone else. If you are lucky you can speak to the actual person who has the information only if they allow the call center to put you through. You are even told to call the main number if you have an emergency after surgery. I was "scheduled" for cornea surgery which they perform on Mondays but don't give you the surgery time or any instructions until the Friday before. When I didn't hear from them by early afternoon on Friday, I contacted them. After being on hold for several minutes with no one answering, an automated voice came on advising to either leave a message or text them "for a faster response". REALLY?! Finally, someone called me back and when I asked if they received pre-authorization from my insurance as I had requested, they said no one had followed up. This was confirmed by calling my insurance. I had to scramble by end of day to find out if my surgery would be covered so I could cancel if necessary. The day of the surgery I arrived at 7:30 as scheduled. At 8:30 they finally took me in, explained post op procedures and said the doctor would be in shortly to discuss. A minute later someone came in to tell me the surgery was cancelled because a tech "didn't show up" to work and asked if I could wait until 1:00. Uh, no thanks, I'll find another doctor who gives a sh*t. Additionally, they never told me I would need to wear goggles for a week after surgery which I don't have and could have purchased had they given me any information ahead of time. Finally, I had to have someone take off work to drive me since you are medicated and unable to drive yourself. So not only did they inconvenience me, but the person who had to take off work. WORST MEDICAL OFFICE EVER! FIND SOMEONE ELSE!

Despite me insisting when I made the appointment that they check that my insurance was actually accepted (and me insisting to check the Insurance name and ID number), they said it wasn't necessary as they already found me in their computer system. However, after the eye exam and when it was time to try on glasses they had me under the wrong insurance (and an insurance I am no longer on). Thus, essentially nothing was covered and I was left without new glasses. Despite my protestations, they chalked this up as "mistakes happen." However, I am a client and a patient whose time and money is just as valuable as theirs. I had to use my precious and valuable sick time to make and keep this appointment and yet I received nothing from it. I have to now take more time off and find a new optometrist and get new lenses/frames elsewhere. This could all have been avoided if they simply listened while making the appointment and checked the insurance information I had wanted to give them. While I appreciate that they gave me my updated prescription, this does not negate the careless regard to checking insurance nor does it negate the disregard afforded to me as a patient. I would highly recommend that if you do make an appointment with this place that you insist that they confirm they have your correct insurance information. I am very frustrated and disappointed by this business.

My husband has been going to this eye place for several years with the same vision and medical…read moreinsurance. Earlier this year [Feb 2022] he went for his annual eye exam. We got a bill [Sept 2022] and immediately I knew something was wrong because we get an annual exam each year covered 100% under our vision insurance. So I called the billing phone number on the bill and after several attempts to speak with someone I finally got a person. Discovered they billed medical and not our vision insurance. The rep I spoke with put in a request to rebill our vision. Which she did. Then I got the EOB from our vision insurance [Nov 2022] that they denied the claim because the Dr office used the wrong codes. This morning I tried to call the billing number again and it's now been disconnected. So we called the direct number to the office and spoke with Dee-anne who basically said they no longer take vision insurance. OK THAT WOULD OF BEEN GREAT TO KNOW BACK IN FEB 2022 WHEN MY HUSBAND CHECKED IN FOR HIS EYE EXAM APPOINTMENT!!!!!! Dr. Chiha ended up recognizing an orbital fracture causing muscle entrapment and sent us straight to the right people at UCLA. Our son ended up needing eye surgery, and because of Dr. Chiha we got it done in a timely manner to avoid permanent damage. She was smart, kind, took it seriously while not alarming our son.
