WOW! My wife and I checked this place out because we had a groupon and didn't feel like cooking. Holy bejeezus are we glad we tried this place! Their mojitos are like liquid silver, that is, they're equal parts beautiful and drinkable. One had me feeling great. We split the Parrillo de Luigi, it's like Venezuelan carne asada, with black beans, rice, and guasacaca (that's guacamole to the gringos). The dish was colorful, flavorful, and all around enjoyable. We also split the Ensalada del Casa, which was a spinach salad with tomatoes, onions and avocado dressed in a sort of tropical fruit vinagrette. Simply delicious. We finished it off with (I forget the name, the mojito was that good) what amassed to a cheese-stuffed elephant ear, deep fried and covered in cinnamon-sugar goodness. The service was excellent, super-friendly and great taste in music. We are totally going back in the summer to do mojito-drinkin' right, that is, in the heat. And maybe start a drum circle. I have eaten here a few times, and never, had a bad meal. I know that the service is not fast, but that is part of the charm of this small place. Come early, or risk standing in line! I had the Vaca Frita and it was supberb! The Mojitos go down nice and easy with any meal. The only thing that kept this meal from being a 5 star one was the Milanesa, wasn't spot on with it's Argetine roots. It had good flavor, but not the garlic, parsley flavor associated with this dish. The service is friendly, the food wonderful, and the mojitos go with everything. Count me as a fan! read more

YUM! I ordered Pescado Frito and a side of tostones. Super delicious! The fish was so delicate and very lightly batter and fried. I asked for the habanero hot sauce to kick it up and BOY! it did. BIG MOJITOS FAMILY! So we've been greeted many-a-time at Mojito. Been going for years, and love love love this place. Drinks are strong but go down easy, food is crazy delicious. Family favorite is the vaca frita, but lechon asado, steak, and pabellon are high up on the list, too. The fried appetizers - tostones, yucca, maduros - and the pastelitos are a perfect snack/starter and you should *definitely* make a point of going for lunch sometime and trying the Cuban sandwich! The tres leches cake, nice and cold, is the perfect finishing note on a hot summer night. Come here for a birthday or other special occasion and be prepared for your event to be announced to everyone in the restaurant (who will then cheer, clap, and sing for you!). Big love, Mojitos! The food here is delicious and their drinks are strong! We have eaten here four or five times, now, and have always enjoyed our meals.

We've been here 3 times now and each time Mojito's is excellent. The service is great. If the owner is available he'll happily talk to you and make you feel at home. This time we both ordered the Pescado Mojito and it was wonderful. Great spice blend on the fish which was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended. read more

Small place with character out of the way off Lake City Way and 75th. Went on a weeknight, so, not too crowded and the tight space was no issue. Great patio to hang out at on a warm summer night. Had a delicious and piping hot pork arepa; tender pulled pork, corn meal is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The million dollar mojito was too sour to drink, tasted like limeade. I couldn't finish, it was that tart. The Pabellon was just alright, beef wasn't as tender as I'd hoped and, worse, our food was not hot at all, like it sat in the window a bit too long. My friend got the Vaca Frita which was so yummy, fried kind of like corned beef hash but with regular beef. The mixed beans and rice were savory, flavorful and a perfect texture. Plantains with cotija were perfect texture (not mushy) and a great balance of salty and sweet. Service was so very mediocre. The younger girl who waited on us did not smile once, often seemed irritated, and kept forgetting to bring us stuff we had to ask for, like water refills and then our boxes. I took 2 stars off because $17 for room temp food, one of which was mediocre, and the crap attitude. However, I'll still give them another chance. I'll just get the Vaca Frita and try the sangria instead. It's a cute place to hang out. read more

I went in for dinner on a Friday night, after hearing rave reviews of this place. I was surprised at how small the dining area is, and was a little alarmed at where we were going to stand while waiting for a table, as there were 6 of us. We all kinda crammed together, and there is really no waiting area. However, the waiting ended up being almost as much fun as the dinner. The staff brought us drinks and were just as attentive to us as when we were seated. The food was awesome - and the Sangria absolutely divine. The portions are huge - the next time I go I will most likely share an entree. I love the hospitality of this place. You really feel like you are over at a friend's house for dinner. read more

Our experience last night at Mojitos was a first for us. It's called discrimination! Taking my husbands elderly mom out for a bite to eat, we spied the sun-drenched patio of Majitos, and thought the place looked great. After checking it out on Yelp, we decided to give it a try. 30 minutes later, we were finally served just two of the three Mojitos we'd ordered, and our dinner order had not been taken. We asked twice more to please bring my husband's Mojito to no avail. This restaurant was not busy, but our waiter continually walked past our table ignoring us! A larger party of six was seated 10 minutes after us, received their drinks, appetizers, and even main course, and my husband still did not have his Mojito! We finally decided to walk, as it was a certainty that the meal was destined to be a disaster. We slowly (mom's 87) got up and got into the car, settling for Indian food down the street. We went to La Casa Del Mojito last night a little worried that the restaurant wouldn't live up to it's Yelp-hype...it turned out to be even better than we hoped for. I ordered the Vaca Frita (shredded beef marinated in lime juice) and a mojito, and they were both fantastic. Definitely one of the best mojito's I've ever had - and the Vaca Frita was amazing. Not sure how this place even gets good reviews! I can't put in words how bad this food sucks! I ate here twice thinking that the second time would be better. Man was I wrong the service was horrible. I can't see with a place so small where a waiter can stand in the middle of the room and serve everyone so slow! My son had a dish where, I kid you not it had a peace of brillo pad. I told the waiter and his was response was by shrugging his shoulders and said that's what they use to clean the pans. He then asked if we were finished NICE! Went to this place only because Paseos was closed for their winter break and I was craving Cuban food, and I was not impressed. I ordered the steak dish for what I thought was around $10, according to the lunch menu. When the bill finally came, the waiter tried to charge me $19, claiming I had ordered the dinner portion. I pointed out it was 3 o'clock in the afternoon and that if they had different portion sizes he should've asked me when I took my order. He fixed the bill for me, but it was very unprofessional and underhanded. My mom ordered their eggplant and vegetable plate for about $14 which was a ridiculous price for a plate of vegetables to start with but they had only two vegetarian options. The dish came with about 4 slices of eggplant, soggy mushrooms and rice but no beans. In other words, a huge rip off. Their fried plantains were about 90% corn starch and I was hard pressed to find any actual plantain inside. My plate was okay but overall lacking flavor and wasn't anything special compared to the mouthwatering deliciousness that is a sandwich from Paseos, and I was irritated that the waiter tried to pull one over on me when the bill came. That along with the inattention of the waiter, the long wait (considering we were the only two in the restaurant), and the extremely overpriced dishes for such a lack of quality means I will not be going back and will instead just patiently wait for Paseos to reopen. read more

After watching the movie the chef my husband and I were craving a cuban sandwich. We have been to this restaurants many times and we feel it is NOT what it use to be. Food was so so. Service BAD ! The service was horrible. I never got to try the food because I was told to leave the restaurant. When we first called to make reservations for 7:45, we were told that we'll be seated with no problem. We arrived at about 7:35 and the girl said it would be about 10-15 minute wait. The place is super tiny, the size of my kitchen and dining room. It's also very loud, so there is no good place to wait, unless you want to crowd over folks still at the tables. So we went back to the car. After 15 minutes we came in, where a guy (i presume the owner) said it would be a 25 minute wait now. I tried to explain that we were already here earlier. He said he does not need to server us if he does not want to, and opened the door for me to leave the restaurant. I have never received service this bad anywhere in Seattle. Maybe the U-District location is better, but I am completely turned off from trying either one again. read more

this is the joint. i can still hear the mojitos calling me... i cannot even describe how dang good this place is; you just need to go there. you like mojitos? go. you don't like mojitos? go, and you will learn to like them. by FAR the absolute best mojitos i've ever had. and, yes, i've had my fair share. while i'm at it...the best margaritas, too. what? i like to drink. the food is orgasmic. no...seriously. the ceviche...we had to have 2 of them. ummm, and the prawns with mango, pineapple; the flippin steak dish...i don't remember the names of all the food we ordered. i was confused and overwhelmed by how good everything sounded that we just ordered and didn't look at the names. oh, and forget sharing dessert; get your own! we ordered just one flan initially...and needed to order a 2nd. also, salsa dancing on the patio on certain evenings. why would you not go here? bottom line: as good as it all looks on the plate & in your glass, it's 10x better in your mouth. you must visit this place, if you appreciate good food. read more

First of all, let's talk about the mojitos: perfection! This is no super-sweet mix crap with a little lime wedge and mint sprig in it. It's a hand-crafted work of art, muddled to ecstasy. So refreshing! Now the food: So far, so wonderful. Apps -- I've had the yuccas fritas, the tostones, and the madurow. All were tasty little apps. The yuccas and tostones come with a tangy garlic lime sauce that is delicious. Entrees -- The pescado de Tito is a home recipe of a white fish filet (whatever is fresh at the market that day) grilled in a banana leaf and covered in comforting, savory spices. It's served with a salad of baby spinach and tart mango dressing, onions, and tomatoes. What a lovely meal for a hot summer day! But what was even more delicious was the traditional Cuban vaca frita, a lime-marinated shredded beef dish with onion and garlic. Oh my heavens. Just writing about it makes me need to go back for more! The seating is rustic and casual and the music is spectacular - Son and other Cuban & So American Jazz. The service is super-friendly and also casual. I honestly felt like I was in the Caribbean or So. America. But that doesn't mean slow service, just a laid-back and warm attitude. Such a gem hidden in north Seattle. Great atmosphere and delectable food. Vaca Frita is my go to dish and my girlfriend has never gotten anything than pescado frita because it is so good. Fried plantains are a tasty treat and the mojitos usually heavy on the rum yet hide it so well. Never seen my mother as jolly as after just one mojito and she couldn't stop saying how good it tastes. read more

Since the rain was dampening my mood, my date decided to take me to Mojito to lighten up my attitude and taste buds. We came by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, the location is rather small, brightly colored and loud latin music bumping from the speakers cheered me up. We had no problem getting a seat. He ordered the Cuban sandwich, and I ordered the Pepito de Pollo. I couldn't come to a place called Mojito without giving their mojito a try, so I ordered one to enjoy. It was decent, pretty strong, I think I had a whole lime in my glass, but I'm not complaining here. The waiter offered a small bowl of sancocho to start off, I believe its a soupy-stew with bits of roast pork. Good flavor. The sandwiches were amazing, his cuban sandwich was juicy, I had to take a bite. The bread was nice and crispy. LOVED it! The chicken in my sandwich was well seasoned, I added a little bit of the hot mojito sauce for a kick. We had a side of the Yuka Frita with the mojito sauce which wasn't too bad, the sauce was a bit garlicky. Toned it down with some green sauce, not sure what it was called but it was good.
