So we're staying around the corner from their place and decided to check it out for dinner yesterday. The business wasn't very busy - especially for 6pm on a Sunday. The table tops were "sticky" from continual use and the varnish starting to come off. Our server was great. That being said, we both tried his recommendations - pulled pork, brisket, and the Mac & cheese. The meat was ok but my husband wasn't that hungry and he's not a "sauce" kind of guy. So he didn't eat much. His fries were under cooked. I am a sauce person and tried all 5 sauces. I also had the baked beans & smoked corn for my sides. It was ok BBQ. I've had better - I've had worse. Nothing I'd normally write a review about. About an hour after eating my stomach started to not feel good. I kept having heart burn and felt very bloated. Our family went to St Augustine this past weekend and decided to stop at Mojo Old City BBQ Saturday for a late lunch around 230-3pm. Originally we tried to get into the Columbia (which is amazing) but they were on a 2 hour wait. This restaurant is on the outskirts of historic downtown which I believe that is why it was not too crowded at this time. When we arrived we were immediately seated and had a family of 7. The waitress was very attentive and nice. I ordered the 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs, Mac and cheese, and smoked corn. All of it was really good. I giving them 4 stars because we are from Texas and have eaten at a lot of really really good BBQ places that I would give 5 stars. This was great but not a 10/10. Very disappointed in this place. St Augustine was busy during the heart of Spring Break. Mojos was not busy however, with only 5 tables inside with diners and a few outside. We had to wait 20 minutes for an indoor table to seat the 5 of us. (We had 2 young children and chose Mojos knowing it is large and thinking we would not have a wait.) Once we were seated we literally waited 15 minutes to be greeted by a very casual employee to take our drink orders. Slow and poor is an exaggeration for the service that we received. We waited and waited for the ketchup my grandson asked for with his child's chicken and fries. Thank goodness none of us wanted a refill on our drinks as there was no checking to see if we needed refills or not. I am not anxious to return and am extremely disappointed by everyone working there. I am sorry I bothered their relaxation time at work by trying to give them business. read more

Mojo,s tasted better than I Remembered. The prices a great and portions are large. I recently went to what is known as the best barbecue in Austin, TX and I am telling you that is nowhere as good as Mojo's. Mojos meats are cooked just right. Their sweet potato mash is incredible. Went there for my son's 17th birthday. Had a great meal for his big day. The wings appetizer blew us all away and we ordered a 2nd round to go. Made reservations through open table and even received a message to confirm our reservation the day prior, which I did. When we arrived with our party of 4, which included small children, at our reservation time the waiting area was packed and a group of 4 was waiting before us to check in at the host stand. The group of 4 was seated immediately. When the host came back and I said we were there for our reservation he said the manager shut reservations down 2 hours ago. The restaurant no longer takes them and we would have a wait. I calmly said that I planned ahead for this because I knew what the crowds would be like with small children and we chose this restaurant solely for that. I wasn't contacted and informed that our reservation was no longer which wasn't right. He rudely said they had 173 reservations and couldn't keep up, so I could jump in front of all the other people waiting; implying how rude that would be. I said you just sat a table of 4 immediately which could have been our reservation. He then found us a table but was extremely rude and acted like we were the problem for making reservations. I went and checked their website and it still is open to make reservations. The food was decent enough; they were out of many items on the menu that we ordered, but not a bid deal. Our server was super friendly. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting though. Toilets had feces all over them and the trashcan is way to small (only about knee height) so paper towels were overflowing all over the floor. The way the host treated us was completely uncalled for and if that is so that reservations were shut down we should have been notified.We would normally have just left and went somewhere else but with our small children we know our limits with wait times. read more

We came here on a rainy day on a Thursday. It was just after happy hour so the restaurant was cleared out. Inside is large with an upstairs and plenty of seating for social distancing. I appreciated that they had fish options with BBQ because I am not a pork or a big red meat eater. I got the BBQ shrimp with Mac and cheese and corn. I opted for the corn instead of greens because the greens are made with pork. I thought the mac and cheese was very creamy and the shrimp with the sauce flavorful. September in St Augustine is "Easy Month" our normally slow season. So many museums are open FREE for the locals. Visited the wax Museum- so thought we would stop at Mojos (just across the street) for lunch. They have a number of locations. This one in St Augustine is near the visitors center- yep with the big parking garage. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and my wife had the pulled chicken sandwich. They come with a side. Many sides to try but we decided to order the side salad. Great homemade dressing I like their honey mustard. Fresh greens nice portion of fresh tomatoes and homemade croutons. Bryan our waiter (he took excellent care of us) said they make most things here in house other than ketchup & mustard. The sandwich are served on a toasted bun. A nice serving of meat. We shared our sandwiches- I thought the pulled pork was the best (well I did order it). So definitely worth a visit when in St Augustine. They have a small parking lot next to their building. Augustine we decided to dine outside . We started with the onion ring appetizer and they were ginormous , spicy and delicious . Five stars for what is now my favorite barbecue place! I am not normally a big fan of BBQ but this place was outstanding. Upon walking in we were promptly greeted and seated. Our server Mike was pleasant for the entire meal. I opted to get a mojo club which is stacked high with smoked turkey and pulled pork. I got macaroni and cheese for my side. The sandwich was huge and delicious! The meat had a great flavor even without the sauces but to sauce it up there were multiple choices. I liked the sweet sauce and the mojo sauce the best.
