    Smoked Chicken and Turkey

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining there last Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy given the time of day and being a Sunday. My wife had a combination platter of smoked chicken and smoked turkey . She absolutely loved it. I had the fried catfish which was excellent. I had the BBQ beans as a side and they may have been the best I have ever had. Kudos to the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal. Our experience was enhanced by our server Melanie. She was attentive and pleasant. Lindsay and Linda Johnson

We came during the night of lights. And this was the only empty restaurant. We got seated right away, got our orders right away and the food was really good. I will definitely come back!

Let's start from that we were looking for a barbecue place about 30 minutes and then we decide to go to this magic place which it was not busy at all and that was amazing because we were so hungry. The service was really fast. Nice and friendly. I ordered a burger and corn. My boyfriend ordered a barbecue sandwich with bbq beans. 5 stars my bf said. I was surprised about this place and now for me it's one of my five best burgers that I've ever had in Florida. (Bbq) the place was quiet. No complaints it's a great place to eat and have a wonderful conversation. They have five different sauce that you can add to your burger or sandwich. Iced tea with refills. You can park in the parking lot two or three blocks away, but to be honest parking is a bit difficult, unless you're gonna stay the whole day there. ($20 all day) Then you're fine. Thanks for your great service!! Hope to try these amazing barbecue sandwiches/ burgers next time.

Excellent BBQ is offered here. SO and I stopped in for lunch and shared a 3 meat plate...pulled pork, chicken and burnt ends (which was a slight upcharge, but worth it). The plate comes with a choice of 2 sides. The burnt ends and chicken were phenomenal!

I was quite underwhelmed with this BBQ experience. The place was fairly empty at 7pm on a Saturday night. Our server was very kind and the food came out very quick. The boom boom shrimp was great and slightly heavy on the sauce. I was very excited about the corn, but unfortunately they ran out before we ordered. None of our entrees were hot, and someone in our party actually had to send the ribs back to the kitchen because it was a little too cold. The chicken was flavorful and the Texas toast was great, but very salty. I don't eat brisket but people in our party said their brisket was too chewy and dry. Overall I was disappointed in the quality of the food, but perhaps it was just a bad night.

Pretty sure this is now my parent's favorite restaurant. Everything we had was tasty from the ribs to the brisket to the pulled pork. Sides were great as well. Mac and cheese was top tier, collards were juicy and flavorful and French fries were hot and fresh. Onion rings were yummy. The coleslaw was a bit generic and under seasoned, but everything else was delish. Great service. Also really love the unique artwork throughout the restaurant. Will be back!

We were looking for some food. Placed an order to go for burnt ends. We walked back to the car and everyone asked to taste one . So I shared we all went back and order 2 more orders. We will return for kitty. They were very delicious and service was really quick. The host was so nice. He remembered me when I came back . The place looked nice and relaxing

New Brunswick Stew with jalapeño corn bread and a side of Mac & cheese.

We can't come to St. Augustine without eating here. Completely obsessed with the Brunswick Stew - so much so - that we ask to purchase a quart to take home every time. I love their wings! Chicken wings smoked then flash fried, so it keeps all the juices inside and crispy outside. Tonight (12/30/25) our server "Melanie" was AMAZING!! Attentive, friendly, on top of everything even though it was very busy. Cannot recommend this place enough.

The meats were very delicious. The Mac & cheese needed a bit more flavor but everything else was really good. There was in and out door seating so you have an option but the service was okay.

The host is very friendly and welcoming. The service is very attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable about the food they are serving. The food was very flavorful. The smoked brisket fell apart so nicely, it was juicy. The North Carolina pulled pork was succulent. They have one of the best collard greens I have ever had and their coleslaw was very nice. My lunch guest said the salmon was done to perfection and so was the green beans. I would highly recommend coming by for some smoked bbq, it is worth the trip. Don't forget to say hello to the host Juan and ask for Dave as your server.

Had dinner here during a trip at the busiest time of year, Christmas. The place was on an hour wait. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The food and service were excellent. We had several appetizers and entrees. The onion rings and fried pickles are delicious. For dinner we had ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. I highly recommend all three. The side coleslaw and Texas toast were good. We were too full for desert. Difficult to park as this is a walkable town.

To be honest I would give this place a 3 star, but my husband said the ribs were really good and the service was very nice. Pros: Burnt ends are great, nice sauce selection, onion rings very good, macaroni was good, cool selection of food Cons: brisket super, super dry, really fatty, gristly cut of meat. Could not chew through it. Never experienced that with brisket. Baked was very interesting too.

Pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese $16

Mojo Old City BBQ was the top rated spot in St Augustine, so we wanted to give it a try. I love that the patio is dog friendly, they sat us outside quickly but we waited a good time to be served afterwards. I do appreciate that their space heaters were working, it seems like most places that have them don't have any propane in them. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich for $16, and wanted fries as a side dish but they were out. I'm really surprised that a restaurant this big is out of such a standard side. Since our first option wasn't a go, we went with what the server recommended, the Mac and cheese. The pork was super dry, but I liked that they had a variety of sauces to top it with. Mac and cheese was pretty basic, so I was a little disappointed. Service was pretty slow, but I feel like they were short staffed for how big the inside dinning was. Overall, we weren't impressed with our first visit. I appreciate the friendly dog patio and the food coming out quickly.

If you don't like shrimp or seafood, or fried/Southern food, this place is not made for you. I always get the shrimp plate, squash casserole, and green beans, and sweet tea (with hush puppies). Yes, there's veggies on the plate, but they are swimming in butter and all the fiber is cooked out of them. The fried shrimp are very lightly battered--they are perfect. Service is fast and friendly. It's a family-run place and you can tell. The place is small, though it has grown, a bit, over the years. Regardless, there is very likely to be a line! You can always order to go, but it's not quite the same. There's a few picnic tables out back for to go orders as their food has to be eaten fresh for full effect! It's cash only, too. The decor leans heavily on coastal/Americana. They are very proud to be American, especially with the 250th birthday. I will say, though the American decorations are plenty, it does not feel political, simply celebratory. As for the kids, they have your expected fried kid items. There's not any coloring pages or anything. But the place is kid friendly in the fact that the food is served quickly and the servers are patient with kids. It's a tight space, so squirmy kids might have to get their energy out outside. Their newer bathrooms are more family (and wheelchair) friendly. As long as this place keeps up the consistency with their shrimp, I will keep coming back. My last visit, though, I did the unheard: I ordered chicken! (I still got some shrimp, too) The chicken was equally good and very hearty. The biscuits, though, were clearly canned. But if that's the only corner they cut, I don't really mind.

It was a busy evening, and a few big big groups. Bring cash...no credit cards. They have a fried chicken special for $11.99, with 2 sides and 2 hush puppies. The fried shrimp is the most popular dish on the menu, with a choice of how many pieces. There is no booze, but the ice tea, sweet or unsweetened is tasty, and refilled often. I had the 9 piece shrimp dinner with macaroni and cheese and the cucumber salad with the delicious hush puppies. The red fish was delicious too. The Minorcan soup had the right amount of heat. No room for a piece of pie. The staff is so well trained. Restaurants have come and gone, but O'Steen's has the right formula. When we left, the lines were longer. My spouse and I checked out the self-guided tour right before we grabbed dinner at The Ice Plant. The tour isn't particularly long but was filled with information. After the tour, we headed upstairs to the restaurant. The restaurant feels really spacious with its super tall ceilings. There was lots to look at reminding us of the previous use of the building. We ordered the hand cut fries, strawberry and beet salad, and the gochujang marinated pork chop. I also ordered a few of their drinks, each one featuring different types of ice to fit the drink. Honestly all the food and the drinks were so good, but the easy standout of the night for both my spouse and I were the pork chops. These might have been the best pork chops I've ever had in my life. I've already told my spouse if we are in the St. Augustine area again, I would make a special trip just to get these pork chops again, they were that good. I really enjoyed this restaurant.
