My friend and I went here last night (Thursday) at 9pm for a quick catchup session. I haven't been here since Covid and they have definitely upgraded since then. It's absolutely beautiful in there! We were greeted right away and offered a choice of outdoor or indoor seating, upstairs or downstairs. We chose to sit upstairs. The floral and other decor is soo pretty! The menus are nice and light up when opened! Melissa was our server and she was really nice and attentive. They had a live DJ who played a really good mix of tunes. Drinks: we had the passion fruit margaritas frozen and on the rocks, it was really good. I also had the dragon fruit spritz which I also liked. It had pieces of dragon fruit in it and on the glass. Food: we only had a bunch of appetizers because we were so full by the time we were ready for entrees. We had the calamari which was the absolute best! Perfect balance of crunchy outside but not dry or chewy inside, the sauce was cherry on top. The mojo wings (mango) were good too. Maybe a bit on the pricey side as they're 6 for $17. And the chips and guac, chips were a tad bit too hard but the guac was nice and fresh. Came here for brunch with my friend. The place is small but cute. We were seated upstairs. The music was ok, more chill than upbeat. The food was just alright for me. I had the steak and eggs. Eggs were fine, steak could have been a bit more seasoned. The home fries were way too soggy, I didn't really enjoy it. My friend enjoyed her burger. The fried calamari was good and the churros were also good. I had a mojito and my friend had the coco mojo I believe. They were both good and strong. (They don't have bottomless brunch on Sundays which is when I went). Overall, it was ok, the Mojo in RVC is better. read more

I've ordered food from Mojo a few different times, but my go-to has become their Poblano Friend Chicken Sandwich. It's giant--my husband and I always split it, and delicious. The sandwich consists of a fried chicken cutlet, a hunk of fried cheese, a poblano aioli, and a slaw. It's a MESSY sandwich, but all of the flavors work really well together. It's definitely worth checking out if you like a good chicken sandwich! read more

Went to Mojo restaurant Forest Hills for the second time I can say that the food is consistently flavorful and delicious. My first visit I had the cure ceviche which was amazing more like an appetizer size you will have to add to order to build a meal. It's important to state the vibe, music and service, was on point. Our waitress came to ask us if everything was well with our order, and followed up to see if we needed anything else. I like the fact that on both separate occasions, the food presentation and quality has always been great. I hope that it remains that way. read more

Had brunch a few weeks ago with friends here, had an overall positive experience and would come back again. Four of us arrived at 12:30pm with reservations on a Sunday and found the restaurant pretty bumping. There's seating outdoors in a covered area along the street, inside first floor, around the bar area on a half floor and upstairs on a second partial floor that overlooks the bar. We were seated upstairs where there were about 7-8 tables. Service was pretty prompt, coming over with menus and water, and giving us a highlight of the day's brunch specials. We ordered: 1) chips and guacamole $11: a good amount of guac with crispy tortilla chips, we asked for more chips to finish the guac and apparently the busboy misheard and thought we didn't want the plate anymore, so the waitress kindly replaced the plate with a new one free of charge. We appreciated the gesture! 2) ropa vieja $22: hearty and solid take on this dish for brunch. The beans and maduros are tasty here. 3) smoked salmon omelette $18: i didn't try this but my friend enjoyed it. 4) chimichurri chicken and shrimp $23(?): shrimp and chicken were just slightly overcooked but the chimichurri sauce was tasty. 5) chilequiles verde $16: eggs were perfectly cooked so that they were a bit runny to mix around with the chips. Think I would've enjoyed it more if the sauce was a bit more hearty, like kinda missing some chunks of tomatillos or something to provide a bit more oomph. I love this place but recently the attitude I get when I go from the hostess is unacceptable, but the food is great.

The restaurant was decorated beautifully with all those colorful flowers on the wall and our server was extremely friendly. The calamari was really good but could've been crisper and the dipping sauce was exceptional. The Down the Hatch ceviche made for a beautiful presentation with the fried calamari and plantain chips on top with the beautifully orange colored mango salsa base but when you get down to the actual ceviche, it was a bit too sour and too salty. It wasn't bad, but I don't think one person could finish it just based on the salt level alone. We also ordered the shrimp tacos which were delicious, whatever sauce they put on it, was excellent. Just a side-note, they added an 18% gratuity on a party of two. Our server made us aware of this but just in case your server doesn't, be sure to look out for it. read more

Came here for brunch with my aunt for my late bday celebration. We waited around 10 minutes to get a table. We were seated on the second floor which has a nice view of the whole restaurant and bar. The decor is very nice and trendy. They do have good music playing in the background which was not so loud so you could have a conversation. I ordered their sweet plantain waffle with fried chicken; it was actually pretty tasty but it would have been better if the waffles was a little sweeter. My aunt ordered the tres golpes and it was delicious. I ordered their pisco lychee which was good but not very memorable. I really liked their s'more martini, it was rich from the chocolate and strong. Since it was my birthday week, my aunt ordered us a tres leches and it was sweet and decorated beautifully with fruit. The biggest issue was the service, it was very slow and it difficult to keep flagging down the waitress. The food took a really long time to come to the table and the drinks came after the food had arrived. I would come back on a slower day to see if the service is better. read more

I came here a while ago and this place was fantastic. However, this time, the service had gone completely down the drain. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all. However, they ended not having great service. My appetizers plate was absolutely dirty. When I asked for a new one, they just forgot to bring one. Twenty minutes later the entrees were already out. The staff never filled our water glasses. I wouldn't have had much of an issue with the service, but they also automatically add 18% to the receipt. Forest Hills has some pretty great eats, and Mojo is definitely one of them. I came here with a friend for weekday brunch, and was seated quickly on the 2nd floor.We tried their "Down the Hatch" ceviche, veggie tostada, and the egg white veggie frittata. The ceviche was topped with fried calamari, and is a mixture of raw white fish, shrimp. and calamari. It was also somewhat awkward to eat because it was served in a big glass bowl, so you had to eat all the calamari before you could get down to the ceviche itself, which I found too saucy. However, the flavors did go well together. The veggie tostada was ok, definitely saltier than I would like, but generous on the toppings. My favorite was the egg white frittata, which was pretty healthy considering it was egg whites, without tasting TOO healthy. The sweet potatoes added a nice balance, and the zucchini noodles were refreshing. Service was speedy as well, and they bring the check over on a portable screen which reduces the back and forth from paying the bill. The tables for the 2 seats were kind of small though. I asked if we could sit on a 4 seat table (note that the restaurant was almost empty) but they said no (which I guess is understandable). read more

Visited for the first time yesterday, but I actually ate here for lunch and dinner. I really enjoyed the drinks and my dinner meal. I had the rose/margarita drink...3 of them. So good! I had an order of the calamari for lunch, I wish I could've gotta more yuca fries, but I understand it was just in addition to the appetizer order of calamari. For dinner I had the mojo chicken, no complaints here. My guest really enjoyed the chicken Latino fried rice. We'll definitely come back. Music isn't too loud. Came here for bottomless brunch on a Saturday at 1p and there was not a big crowd! They had the choice of bottomless sangria (red or white), Bellini, or mimosa. It was a 90 minute bottomless for $20. In my opinion, the server was slow in pouring and getting us drinks. It was quicker for mimosas and bellinis bc it was in a pitcher. But they can't leave the pitcher on the table. Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Good food and tasty sangria. I had the Chicken Mojo which was very good. I also opted to add grilled shrimp. I was expecting a skewer of maybe 5 or 6 shrimp, but it was actually a small dish of probably 10-15 shrimp. Well worth the cost. I wish they had mentioned that the shrimp would be a little spicy. Knocked down one star due to the aggressive roaming photographer. There is a photographer that takes photos of every table and then later tries to sell them to you. When the photographer first approached us, I said we didn't want to take any photos. She pretended to have no idea what I was saying and proceeded to take our photo. After a couple of photos, I again repeated that we did not want her to take our photo but she would not stop. Very disrespectful. I understand she has a job to do, but the photographer should listen to the customer when they say no. read more

The server is very nice even though the food took a while to come out but we had no issues ordering a few more drinks in the meantime. My friend & I came here for some drinks after work during the week & it was fairly empty. Mojo does offer "happy hour" Monday- Thursday with different specials depending on the day. My friend tried their chocolate old fashion & really enjoyed it. I had their passion fruit frozen margarita that was also good. For appetizers we had the guacamole & chips along with the chicken empanadas. The chicken empanadas were good with a flavorful chicken filling & flaky soft dough. Before you even attempt to enjoy the food, remember that the goal of the staff is to kick you out as soon as possible. We walked in and the first thing we noticed is the lead staff arguing. The lady reminded us that we only have 90 minutes to eat. Okay? Then, after we had a bite the server says she has to close our table, "so sorry guys". What was the point of that? To collect tips? Automatic gratuity? What happened to the 90 minutes? Should have just asked us to order take-out. We might have had a total of 15 minutes to eat the overly greasy food. So keep that in mind before you come here thinking you will at least be allowed to enjoy the food. Will definitely not be bringing friends back here, so disappointing. So we decided to come here for our small group brunch. For a group over 5 we were required to put a 100 deposit which was sent back in a gift card to use at the restaurant. We considered doing the family style brunch bug ultimately everyone got their own plate and we ordered 3 appetizers and it came out to the same price and when you think about it more food. Everyone enjoyed their food. I personally had the calamari which tasted fresh and wasn't overly fired. The guac was good. I had the the Poblano Fries Chicken Sandwich it's was very filling and good the egg on top kind of masked all the flavors. I tasted the chicken and waffles. The waffles are made with sweet plantains it was a bit of a thicker texture feel like they should of found a way the purée the sweet plantains more. Dined here for brunch for my sisters birthday and had a really good time. This location was a different vibe from the Rockville Center location - it was more toned down, the music was at a normal listening level where you can hear the person sitting next to you. Not sure if it's always like that, but it was welcoming. The ambiance/atmosphere was just as nice. The service was good and the restaurant was very accommodating. They fulfilled our request to be moved to a different table because the original seating wasn't to our preference. Thank you to Lucy the manager and Melissa our server for the hospitality. Food and drinks here is good, mine and others in my party were satisfied with everything - empanadas, chips and guac, chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, the chimichurri chicken. All yummy. Once I walked in I just felt that the food was going to be pleasing. Greeted once we walked in with smiles and immediately seated. It was a full house especially in a Sunday night but the service was very quick. I started with the passion fruit mojito which was very well made and refreshing. The calamari was slightly salty but it could've been just me but I still enjoyed it with pickled onions and yucca underneath and that special sauce amazing. The skirt steak was cooked to perfection well seasoned, plantains were perfectly sweetened, and the white rice was so good I didn't need any gravy. Was there today for brunch ... receptionist at front was spot on took us to a great table and fist thing she did was look at out water glasses see if they were clean.. attention to detail she was great the waitress was awesome great service smiled a lot, the food is where this went to a 2-3 star review.. The guacamole was so tasteless and bland didn't taste anything in. It was cilantro, no garlic, no lime juice no salt. It was ice cold as cold as ice cream avocado should be room temperature. It tastes creamy and it tastes a lot better. It was so cold. It looks like eaten avocado, ice cream, and so bland that we had the ceviche same thing ceviche had no flavor no salt. Nothing at all then we had two burgers with the truffle fries, which which was pretty good. It was OK but the appetizers ruined the meal no flavor. read more

I came here for a late brunch with a friend. A friendly and bright space and they took about 10 mins to seat us. We were inside and they had a good variety of sizes for tables and seemed like a family friendly place. We tried the steak and eggs and the ceviche. Both were good and I would say made to the average American palette. We tried a couple of the drinks as well, one was the whisky blackberry and the other like a gimlet. I would totally ger drinks here when I come back. I think I would like to try some of the more unusual menu options but brunch seems to be more standard américan fare. Service was fairly standard and the waiters were prompt. They took a little bit longer for the food than the drinks but the place was packed so I assume it was due to the volume of people. It's definitely a popular spot but I am not sure if they take reservations. They do have a large enough space but brunch seems to be a big pull for them. The music is super loud on a weekend night. It was hard to hear my friend but that's okay. It was busy but had a great vibe. Lots of people enjoying the music and their meal. One group got up to dance for the instagram and then proceeded to sit down. Not much of a dance floor. The calamari was really delicious. I would recommend that as an entree if you are hungry. The margaritas were a bit pricey because they tacked on extra dollars for flavor and tequila mix. Though, I did enjoy the drink. Tamarind margarita was refreshing. The waitress gave us a choice of what Tequila we wanted in the mix. Bottle water was $9. It is a bottle from Saratoga springs. We ordered the salmon pasta special with shrimps on the side. It was so worth it!! The shrimps were $9 more but I would recommend them because of the saucy way they made the shrimps. We took home the leftovers and enjoyed it even the next day. OF NOTE, for a party of four they automatically added a large group gratuity which correct me if I'm wrong but 4 people is not a large group. And they didn't tell us about it until the end. Went here for brunch. I was pretty early so I had a mimosa at the bar while I waiting for my friends. We were seated right away and our waitress attended to us right after. The brunch menu was not that great. I prefer the lunch but the food was good. Surprisingly, my friend asked for an iced coffee and they could not give her ice in a mason jar which was strange. But not a great coffee selection it's just black coffee and whole milk if you need. You'll have to ask for milk and brown sugar. We loved the DJ. The vibes were nice. Then she just left it like that... I had to approach her with a umm so can we be seated at 4 then? Then she goes on to say oh there's a waitlist... umm ok.. so then I say so then can you put me on it??? It was just a very awkward, uninviting approach. She does and then walks away. Oh I also want to point out there were people sitting at tables and a lot of empty unused tables while all of this is happening. Then some other girl comes along and now makes it feel comfortable, asks if we were waiting for a table and proceeded to seat us with no problem. That whole scenario was unnecessary, and the rest of the experience was fine. They had good music playing, the seating and place is cute, and the food was good. You can skip the churros though, that wasn't so good.
