I've been a frequent customer of Sana'a Cafe and have visited multiple locations on a regular basis, which is why this experience was disappointing. I recently placed a mobile order through the app and didn't realize it had defaulted to a different Sana'a Cafe location that I had previously visited. As soon as I noticed, I called the store within seconds of placing the order to see if anything could be done. What frustrated me wasn't the mistake itself, but the inconsistent explanations I received. I was initially told that the order had already been made. When I questioned how that could be possible given that only a few seconds had passed, I was then told that the order wasn't actually made yet, but was "being made" and therefore could not be canceled or adjusted. Another factor was that I was already seated at a different Sana'a Cafe location when I realized the app had sent the order to a location I had previously visited. I explained during the call that I was already seated at another Sana'a Cafe across town (Mission), roughly 25-30 minutes away from the location that received the order. The staff was aware that I was not near the location where the order had been sent, which is why I was hoping some type of accommodation could be made. I understand that mobile ordering policies exist, and I recognize that the order was ultimately submitted through the app. However, as a frequent customer, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and the conflicting information I was given. Even a small gesture such as store credit or an offer to make it right on a future visit would have gone a long way. The $8 wasn't really the issue. The issue was the customer service and how the situation was handled. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration because I genuinely enjoy Sana'a Cafe and would like to continue supporting the business. read more

We love Qamaria so when we saw this place opened much closer to us, we were eager to try it out. Bonus points because they were showing the world cup! Rating Breakdown: 2/2 Stars for Taste -- My husband and I both ordered the Mofawar, but his was iced and mine was hot. When I picked up my order, the barista offered to "cool it down" for me and I declined, wondering why anyone would ever do that. Then I opened the lid to take a sip and saw the volcanic steam erupt out the top and realized the error of my ways. 10 minutes later, I still scalded my tongue lol. Don't be me -- be humble and cool down the drink unless your tongue was made to drink molten lava. I love cardamom, its floral profile complemented the silky smooth texture of the cream coffee. If you like your coffee on the strong side, you're in the right place. We also ordered a Dubai milk cake. I am not usually a huge fan of milk cake, but something about the chocolate and evaporated milk go well together to make this dessert perfectly "not too sweet". 1/1 Stars for Value -- It's $6 for 16oz so it's definitely not cheap but it's such an upgrade from your typical chain brew. My one gripe is that the food items are not labeled with prices so you kind of let your stomach/eyes take the wheel...and your wallet. They also advertise 20% off if you order through their app but, as of 6/20, their Android app is not functional. 1/1 Stars for Customer Service -- The server saw that we had two toddlers with us and was kind enough to bring us our order. He even came back to bring us forks and napkins. We didn't see any high chairs but they had booth seating we could wedge our kiddos in. I got an espresso. It came out quite bitter and thin, with very little body or crema. 2/5. Worth noting this location is in a soft opening. I've also had great espresso from Sana'a in Oakland, so I'll likely give it another try if in the area. read more

It looks like this is a soft opening. There's no sign in the front but on the back of the building, you see several signs for the café. I needed a caffeine hit and found that this was nearby... I was super surprised to find out that it took over the old Starbucks in the 24 hour fitness plaza. Happy though it's near me! Love the decor inside. I didn't realize they were showing the World Cup here. I would have stayed if I wasn't working. I ordered a Yemeni Latte and it is good. The spinach fatayer is good. First time trying it. I ordered a pistachio croissant to try but they ran out . Some lady took my latte, but the workers were able to quickly make me another one. Now that I know this place is nearby, will definitely hit it up again to try out the other items. This will be a great place to catch up with friends or just chill. Parking might be an issue though since lots of people go to the gym, but it should be fine. read more

Went during their soft opening week. The latte was watery and didn't have much of an espresso taste to it. The matcha also wasn't the greatest, it tasted like milk. But the inside was cute and we tried their pastries which we enjoyed! Just not the drinks so much. read more

Next to 76 gas station, across from Target. Large parking lot, nearly full. Offerings: coffee beans, cake slices, pastries, tea (hot/iced), espressos, Yemeni Specialty drinks, iced Yemeni Specialty drinks, refreshers. Greeted upon arrival. Order taken when cashier was free. Got drink in minutes. Sips: Turkish coffee (12 oz, 4.99) black, no sugar. -very smooth, bold flava, no harshness. Very fine coffee grounds in drink. Results clearly refreshing. -best Turkish coffee drank recently. -house & Jerimah Picks coffee beans sold at counter. 4.5 stars. Fast service. Quantity/Quality very good. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood, Sana'a! This is the third Yemeni cafe I've been to and it won't be the last. I was driving by and noticed their soft opening signs. They had just opened two days prior and I stopped by for a drink and snacks. Gone is the past Starbucks and here is the beautifully decorated space with cream interior and gold accents. Eats: Iced Adeni Chai, 50% sweet recommended Dubai croissant Chocolate croissant Za'atar & cheese fatayer Chicken musakhan rolled savory pastry I always opt for iced chai, or hot if it's chilly outside. They informed me the iced variety would take some time and it took more than twenty minutes. I enjoyed the drink but hope it comes out faster next time. I love za'atar baked goods! It's like this mashed seed mixture with a unique taste, savory nutty and almost sour? Kinda wish they had a flatbread with this. Chicken musakhan was tasty! They can warm it up. The sweet pastries weren't the freshest though. The chocolate croissant was stale. The kataifi on the Dubai croissant was soft instead of crisp. At least it wasn't super sweet. They just opened so turn over rate for the sales may be low. Looking forward to trying their milk cakes next! Customer service is nice and helpful. I do suggest assigning order numbers to each transaction. My order was finally done and the person calling it out just said all the items. Number system would work better. read more

The staff were super nice but service was a bit slow, I wasn't in a rush so it wasn't a huge deal. The matcha had too much milk for my preference and I had my cheese fatayer warmed up but it was still cold in the center. Newest Yemeni coffee spot in the area and they did not miss with the location. Spacious, vibrant interior with plenty of seating! You can study, work, catch up with a friend, or just post up with a drink. Workers are very kind -- Walked in and was greeted right away. Helped me through the menu since I wasn't sure what to get and made me feel like a regular even though it was my first time. Place is also nicely ventilated which is a small detail but goes a long way when you're planning to sit for a while. A lot of cafes get stuffy. Not this one. The Sana'a latte was the move -- Got it iced with ginger and cinnamon. The honey was the star, perfectly blended so you tasted it in every sip without it being overwhelming or syrupy sweet. Ginger and cinnamon added warmth even on ice. Smooth, balanced, didn't need to add anything. Overall, great spot to stop by after the gym. Finally I was able to try this cafe. I wasn't familiar with the menu items, so I choose and egg and cheese fatayer with a cappuccino. It was a bit spicier than I expected, but I ate it. It might just be a training gap, but my go to drink from any Sana'a cafe is the iced Mofawar and am familiar with how it should taste. I had a horrible first experience since the barista first made it without cream and when he took it back, just added it on top. My drink ended up tasting like a watered down iced coffee and couldn't even taste the cardamom. My drink also took about 20 min, but the other cafe take a shorter time even though they also make it fresh. I'll give it one more chance because of how close it is, but right now, I'll stick to the other locations. read more

I'm a regular at the mission location but noticed the pistachio was available at the whipple location. Got excited for a quick minute... until I drank and ate.... Big difference between the mission and this location. Pistachio latte tasted like warm milk. The customer in front already asked to put more pistachio and I think she was disappointed too. Sad day. Gotta finish it though since everything costs a lot these days. I went at 0745 7/4. The honeycomb tasted frozen and the Biscoff croissant tasted like it was frozen then thawed? So convenient, within walking distance from my gym. Went with a group, I ordered the Sana'a latte, with oat milk. My mom ordered the Yemeni latte. We both got them iced and lightly sweetened, love that they sweeten with honey. Our drinks were delicious, but our food was incredible! We ordered the chicken fatayer and biscoff cheesecake to share with the group. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and flavorful, and the cheesecake was light and very yummy. Service was so friendly, they brought most items to our table which was a nice touch. We loved the ambiance, the seating was so comfy! The people working were really nice & although we already knew what to get, they'd suggest recommendations which was nice of them. The environment is also nice & clean! The places is nice and looks like many of the other Yenini coffee shops and similar selection. I got the Adeni chai there yesterday and asked for light sugar. It was so gross and had no flavor. It tasted nothing like Adeni chai! I wonder if the barista messed up since this place is still new. I literally drank two sips and then threw it away at work. Rounding up to 3 star because I would like to see this shop improve. My daughter did have a good experience there when she went last week, so maybe it was just me.
