Dubai Chocolate

Moka on 34th Street has a really nice concept. The desserts are incredibly cute and look just like real fruit. They also have tables where you can sit, relax, and enjoy everything, which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. That said, the service was disappointing. I don't like to judge based on appearances, but the staff came across as very stiff and unwelcoming, almost like they didn't want to be there and that I was bothering them by ordering. There was a NYC cop in front of me, and I honestly had the impression that they didnt want him. This was my second visit in less than two months. While my kid loves the Dubai chocolate drink, I personally would hesitate -- Unfortunately, the service just didn't feel warm or welcoming dessert. More place in NYC for sure

stopped by to grab a quick matcha and ordered the strawberry matcha with light sweetness. it was still pretty sweet, but overall it was a good drink. the matcha itself had a very nice, creamy taste that paired well with the strawberry milk and strawberry purée. however, the strawberry flavor was pretty overwhelming. even just looking at the drink, it seemed like there was more strawberry milk than matcha, just not my personal preference. otherwise, the drink came out very quickly, within about 5-10 minutes, and everyone working there was really nice. overall, it was a good experience. there was plenty of seating inside, outlets available, and bathrooms as well. the location is very close to penn station, which makes it a convenient option before taking the train. i will say it's definitely on the pricier side, even for a new york city matcha; my drink came out to around $12.

Iced Moka Spice Latte + Dessert

What a dream to visit Moka & Co as my first stop after taking a bus into Manhattan! There's not may Yemeni cafés in Colorado, so I wanted to check this out on vacation. The interior is impressively beautiful. I had to get some laptop work done, so I ordered an Iced Moka Spice Latte with a delicious-looking pastry and hung out in their spacious seating area. Thank goodness for power outlets and strong Wi-Fi connection. Would love to check out any of their other locations across the country in the future!

We went in here for some coffee and snack. By snack I mean something sweet and I needed to get something hot. That cold weather is a lot. We went inside and it wasn't really packed so we were able to sit and relax for a little bit. The presentation of the sweet treats was great, but the taste was not. The coffee was good, but we were lost on what to order so we just kept it basic. The service was good and they were friendly, but I did find the prices a bit high

Something new is brewing here! The interior of this gorgeous space is shiny, well laid out, boosting high ceilings, with an impressive display of equipment. There was a lovely sense of serenity within the place. The first time I was here, I decided to order one of the traditional Yemeni lattes: Maleki. I also had the Dulce de Leche Coconut Croissant. The Maleki was aromatic, milky, smooth, and rich, blended with ginger, coffee husks, honey, cardamom, milk, along with cinnamon. Each spice was discernible and worked beautifully together. The Croissant was indulgent and sweet, though a bit on the dry side. Finally stopped by another time to try the Dubai Chocolate Latte, which was quite expensive at over $13, but totally worth it! There was a thick yummy chocolate shell casing surrounding the plastic cup, strong taste of coffee mixed with plenty of pure pistachio flavor, along with tasty kunafa and rich foam on top. This beverage was decadent, sweet, and irresistibly creamy. Service was friendly and staff know the menu well. I can't wait to return for the Biscoff Latte and more of their decadent looking desserts!

Went at 9:25am, ordered and got my food within 5 minutes. Only 3 other people in the café. Super pricey though. The chicken puff pastry label was out but there weren't any, and the pistachio croissants were actually above it. A couple other croissants were mislabeled too. Wish I could've tried the puff pastry! Music reminded me of walking through Disneyland. Got an iced pistachio matcha latte with an espresso shot and honestly, it was really good even for me (a non-coffee drinker). The pistachio totally masked the coffee taste. Also had the iced strawberry matcha latte and loved it as it didn't taste powdery at all. The Zaatar cheese croissant lowkey reminded me of that complimentary bread you get at Italian restaurants that you just can't stop eating. The biscoff milk cupcake was on point too...not overly sweet and held together well. I'd definitely come back and recommend it, but... it's expensive. If you're not on a budget, come through!

Talk about a sugar rush. All the pastries are really pretty but not well balanced. Everything I've had has been very sweet. This includes the lattes. The inside is really nice and it's a great place to spend time but it seems more like a place to come and take pics than to enjoy the food.

I'm a huge fan of MokA's modern approach to traditional Arabic coffee. The place is well laid out with outlets at every seat(this is a big thing for me). The service staff manages the place well. Sweet with customers, but firm in kicking disturbances out. Coffee and Tea was decent. Nothing groundbreaking. My small suggestions for improvements would be to stabilize the tables and to have a clearly labeled area for finished mugs. Wobbly tables are very frustrating when trying to do work. To wrap up, definitely swing by and purchase a pastry. I promise that you will find something worth trying.

Fruit pastries & drinks

3 stars for purely just the ambiance. Stunning cafe and so much seating. A great place to go if you're catching up with a friend or want to get work done. However, zero stars for the viral fruit pastries they sell. I try not to give any place a bad review but they were just not good at all. Every pastry was the same, a very gluey and gelatinous mold filled with an underwhelming fruit center. Also, other cafes that execute the fruit pastries very well actually sell it cheaper than Moka&Co. Coffee was ok at this location not the best compared to the Astoria location. My word of advice is for them to either take the fruit pastries off their menu or go back to the drawing board. A Yemeni coffee shop should have amazing coffee and great bites, unfortunately this location need to work on that.

This Yemeni coffee place just opened up not long ago like a few weeks ago and it is very big and spacious inside. Very fancy and I do believe the special drinks are a bit on a pricier end but they are very tasty. I came in to get the Dubai chocolate latte but then it was sold out due to popular demand so that was a bummer! I had to resort to the pistachio latte, which tasted pretty good too! I love pistachio! I had to mix the pistachio sauce and bits and pieces at the bottom of the cup with the espresso when I first got it. They don't mix it for you. The coffee is either served in one size for to go or dine in. You are to get one of those fobs that tell you when you're drunk is ready for pick up. There's also free WiFi in the whole place. There is a second level but I never got to go upstairs. There is a lot of expensive high tech equipment in the place by the entrance making it very luxurious. There is also a section in the middle of the place that has coffee beans for sampling. There's also nice instrumental Yemeni music playing that feels like you're in Yemen or a movie. It is very pleasing and calming. There is plenty of booths, tables, and chairs for dine in. I will definitely come back for the desserts. They got the milk chocolate and white Dubai chocolate. Also strawberry croissants and pistachio cake. Very delicious and nice looking!

mufawar coffee

A nice cafe in Midtown with interesting drink selection and beautiful pastries! There's nice, comfortable seating, free wifi, and bathroom available. My partner and I tried the Mufawar, which had an interesting flavor with cardamom notes, and unlike other coffees I've had tbh. Our family member ordered a biscoff latte and it was great! Prices are good value if you're considering the lounging time in the space.

Stopped by Moka & Co at night and was surprised by how quiet it was for a Midtown spot--huge space but low-key vibes. The upstairs area looks nice but is reserved for events, so don't plan on escaping up there with your laptop. I got the Dubai chocolate latte, and... it was fine. Pretty milky, and if there was pistachio in there, it was playing hide and seek. Didn't end up trying the baked goods (diet day, unfortunately), but they looked amazing--like the kind of stuff you regret walking past. The real reason I'd come back? Chill atmosphere, kind staff, and a place that doesn't feel rushed. Next time, I'm skipping the drink and going straight for the pastries.

Spacious and new to the neighborhood. Love the service. The prices, however, are a bit steep even for midtown Manhattan. If you cannot handle tumeric or ginger or cardamom, get something more basic. I got something a bit interesting but it tasted too healthy and very ginger forward. The pastries look amazing tho!

The vibes here are immaculate but the Chai Latte deserves to be taken off the menu. Help me God, it was disastrous. BUT the vibes were nice

I had the grassiest matcha (fuku no midori) prepared with just water, and it was the most refreshing drink I could've asked for during this unbearably hot summer. I came back a few more times in the same week to sample more of their menu. Surprisingly, my least favorite was the strawberry matcha latte. I think the fruit obscures the subtle flavors in the matcha and I recommend getting a plain matcha or a matcha latte instead. The shop itself is very tiny - almost standing room only - with 2 barstools by the window. Each drink is made to order and it seemed like there was only one, maybe two people preparing drinks, so if there's a large group then the drinks will take some time to come out.

I'd actually passed by this place multiple times but had no idea it was a cafe. This shop itself is more of a grab-and-go, but it might still take a while since all drinks are whisked and made to order. There isn't really space for a line to form inside, so you may need to wait outside to order (there's also a bit of a lack of room to wait for your drink once it's ordered). My strawberry matcha came out to $9.25 total, which is pretty pricey, so I expected a lot. In total, it took me around 10-ish minutes to get my drink with about 4 people in front of me. At first it took a while for our orders to get taken since the two employees were focused on getting drinks out ASAP, one person was preparing the syrups and milk, and the other was making the matcha. The matcha itself had a nice green color. I've had many strawberry matchas prior to this, and based on my experience, this place was alright. The strawberry syrup was nice and not too sweet, but I wish there was a bit more flavoring or more of it, as after two sips I couldn't taste the strawberry at all. Overall, it's a nice shop with cute trinkets around and their own products they sell, like matchas and tea sets. However, for $9, it was a lot for what the drink offered in my opinion.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
