That one was a bit tart, on the less sweet side, but still very refreshing especially during the heatwave in NY! Reasonably priced given the economy nowadays, I think each drink is between $8-$9? I've been a Cha Cha Matcha regular for years, but my most recent visit was genuinely awful. The new cups they're using are extremely flimsy and low-quality. My friend's completely collapsed under the lid, causing matcha to explode everywhere. It splattered across the counter, the napkins, my clothes, and her hands. It was such a mess that we had to clean everything up ourselves, and they didn't even remake the drink! Accidents happen, but what made this experience especially disappointing was the lack of accountability or care. I emailed the hello@chachamatcha.com with photos explaining what happened, hoping for a resolution or at least an acknowledgment... and never received any response at all. This was honestly unacceptable to me. I truly hope they address the cup issue and take customer feedback more seriously, because right now the quality and service are nowhere near what they used to be. My coworkers and I will be choosing a different establishment for our afternoon matcha walks. read more

As a Matcha lover, I feel slighted and disappointed. Whenever I come to this location, something always tends to go wrong. Either my order is messed up, or The staff is rude, or both. Today we got two matcha drinks and matcha croissant. The croissant that was advertised to be Matcha was a plain croissant with a light sparkling of Matcha powder on top. For $5, this was a total rip off. The croissant itself was subpar. Paying for a Macha croissant to get a plain bland mediocre croissant is not something I would ever want again. Considering that each drink is $9, plus tax, plus $5 plain, mislabeled? Not usually a huge fan of Matcha...I'm more partial to it in dessert like a crepe cake or ice cream. Drinking it is usually meh for me. But I needed a chai pick me up and a place to work and they had both. The place was hopping but I was able to find a spot in the corner to work. I didn't inquire about the WiFi and just used my mobile hotspot just to avoid losing my spot. It's a tiny shop and lots of people moving around waiting for their order. The best way I can describe it is slightly controlled chaos. My matcha wasn't half bad. Matcha is a bit too bitter for me, but with the chai it worked. I also think while the ice melted it down a bit, it made it less bitter for me. The drinks and the cafe itself are fun to look at and you can also buy the matcha powder to go. When I first walked in - I couldn't even get the door open because the line goes in the direction of the door. First thing I'd suggest moving the register to the other side so people aren't bombarded as they enter. I was excited to try the seasonal soft serve swirl but was saddened to hear they only had matcha. It was excellent and only $6 for a serving that could be for two. I enjoyed seeing the fresh matcha laying out and being used for everyone's orders. But at the same time, it's not covered, so people's coughing or sneezing germs goes right into it. Especially since it's right as you walk in. So that grossed me out. That glass that's there should be higher to protect it.
