Menu is pretty limited but thankfully they sell Colombian aromáticas here so it's what I came for. The place itself is quite elegant, a lot of small tables to sit in and sip your coffee. One thing is I wasn't asked if my drink was to stay or to go and given in a paper cup while almost everyone else was given proper cups. Prices were very reasonable and service normal. read more

We met a friend here for coffee/tea in the afternoon. The interior is beautiful, though crowded. We had to wait 20-30 minutes for a table to open up. On the bright side, there is one restroom to use while you're inside! I tried one of their Aromaticas, which the barista described to me as a caffeine-free, fruit-infused, iced tea. Ambiance: - As soon as you walk in you are greeted with greenery and lively loud music. - There is plenty of seating all around. (No charging stations though. Or I couldn't find any.) - I'd say it is a good place to work from if you don't mind a loud and busy environment. Probably not the best place if you have meetings or calls. Coffee: - Latte (very good. They don't do flavors here but they did offer to add honey or some sort of sweetner. There was a short line for coffee, but we were probably in-and-out within 15 minutes. The interior is pretty large, open-space with lots of plants. The amount of seating was perfect for how packed the cafe was. POUR OVER - MKT Price The barista recommended the VILLA PASTORA (7.50) beans (which has strawberry, raspberry, milk chocolate and orange liqueur tasting notes) when I asked for recommendations. The coffee came out 5-10 minutes after ordering, and it wasn't even filled to the brim (maybe 8-10 oz of coffee?). It was sweet and juicy, and not overly acidic. My new favorite location of this franchise in Manhattan due to availability of seats, high ceiling and and a scent of nature owed to the abundance of greenery. With all the quality coffee and latte options Devocion is known for, it is easily the best cafe east of 5th avenue for a sit down or grab-n-go coffee run. Serious contender for the best coffee I've ever had & hands down best I've had in Manhattan so far. But what's more, the team was incredibly warm, welcoming, and accommodating. It was radiating from them that they genuinely care, about the coffee, the process, the experience. They walked me through the process & blend origins with such knowledge and enthusiasm, it made the whole experience even more memorable. I stopped by Wednesday morning around 9:30 AM, and the coffee shop was quite busy with a line. Since it's located in midtown east in a visible area, lots of people tend to stop by this location. I really enjoyed the iced Americano, and the service was fairly quick. read more

Its REALLY nice- much more spacious than a lot of cafes in Manhattan, with some small tables and comfy cushioned seats. Walked in here on an unseasonably warm December morning when my mom really needed coffee. She got the nitro cold brew and thought it was good but a little too roasted. She prefers lighter roast. I tried their apple, strawberry, spearmint aromatics as I'm not a big coffee drinker. I enjoy mint teas and enjoyed this as well. My god, Devoción was delicious. I went on day 3 of my weeklong work trip to NY and returned a couple more times to grab an americano before my workday started. The store is location in Midtown East, which was just a few blocks away from where I was staying, so very convenient. The ambiance is chill, calming, and beautiful with a large piece of greenery sitting center in the shop. The service was impeccable and baristas couldn't have been nicer. The coffee itself is smooth, tasty, and goes down nicely. I used the beans at home after returning from my trip and the cups of coffee were just as good. If you're in Midtown or Brooklyn, I urge you to swing by and grab a cup and a bag of beans to take home. read more

So happy they opened in Midtown! Love checking out coffee shops. There were a few people waiting for their drinks when I first arrived but I didn't have to wait long after I ordered. The place is quite spacious, and probably a good spot to relax with a friend, or even a coffee date. I had seen on Instagram they had an off the menu latte with pistachio milk, so I gave it a try. This place comes from a wildly successful and popular original location in Brooklyn, producing one of NYC's most revered espresso, and thought by many to be our best. CAPPUCCINO Gotta start simple with a standard espresso drink. This was really well done, the foam was velvety and smooth, and the espresso blended so well into the drink. It's def high quality coffee, with earthy and smoky tones, which, admittedly, while distinguishing, not particularly my preferred notes in coffee. So while I see how it's a city favorite, it's not my personal favorite espresso as it were. PAPAYA AROMATICA Their aromatica series is a fruit-based drink series, which come hot or cold. I got it cold and it was refreshing, and it doesn't come sweetened so you add your own simple syrup to your liking. I think I had the opposite experience of most Yelpers here. Service? Fantastic. Very very nice people. Coffee: Bitter as all hell. I like strong coffee but this tasted burnt. I had a latte with almond milk and the milk was the only reason I was able to stomach the entire drink. Atmosphere? A bit on the small side. When you walk in there's a ramp that takes you down to the counter and some seating. Not much of a place to get actual work done seeing as it's loud and the line moves towards the door quickly because of the lack of space and odd setup. Food? Delish! The guava croissant is the one thing that will bring me back here. I really miss the coffee shop that just closed as this area of Midtown East has almost nothing now when it comes to getting your brew on. I like that all drinks can be made cold but they are missing teas and the menu is almost impossible to read without light over it. I'll visit again for the guava croissant but they really need to expand their drink menu. read more

Having passed by many times I came here for a coffee. Pretty inside as it's verdant with a fairly large tree trunk and foliage in the middle. Would not recommend. I was nicer to the barista than he was to me. The employee at the register was friendly and cheerful to the white male guest in front of me, but his smile and energy dropped when he saw me. The cashier was cold and hostile when he took my order. I was friendly and cheerful to him, and I did not order a complicated drink. I work in food service; the customer service experience he provided was not acceptable. I can only assume he was unwelcoming to me because I do not look like him. I visited on Tuesday, August 5th between noon and 1pm. A white man in his late 20s or early 30s with brown hair, circular glasses, a hat, and a mustache took my order. I had high expectations for this cafe because of the it came recommended from a friend, but I will not be returning because of the inhospitable ambiance. read more

Used to travel to the one downtown a lot because I just love their coffee so I'm glad they opened up this one which is a few blocks away from where I live. Service: One of the baristas made me uncomfortable. I go to a lot of coffee shops to study, so I'm often carrying a bunch of things with me. I had barely sat down and situated myself before one of them came up to say, "You know you have to order if you want to sit here." I understand making that comment if I had sat for a while without ordering anything, but it had been less than 2 minutes. But another barista was very friendly and helpful so it all depends on who is working when you visit. Food/Drinks: As for the food, the **guava croissant** was excellent. It was very light and airy, and the guava jam was a good addition. The **kouign-amann dulce de leche** was not very good. I've just had so many better versions at spots in SF, so this was disappointing if you've tried this before. The **nitro cold brew** was decent - very energizing but somewhat bitter. Also, that same barista said she didn't make latte art, and then I saw her make it for the next cup which is so sus. Ambiance: The shop has free wifi (current password is devocionfresh) but no outlets so you can't stay for too long. It also has a nice botanical aesthetic with a giant column of plants in the center and multiple booths with plants. The music is pretty mild and not distracting. Overall not a terrible place but with the first interaction being so negative, it really set the mood for the rest of my time there. read more

I've been here at least 5x during my last 2 business trips to New York and this is my new favorite coffee shop. As I was walking to my office at 57th and Lex, I kept seeing tons of people holding yellow cups or cups with a yellow logo and I couldn't figure out where they were getting this coffee. I finally stumbled on someone coming out of the coffee shop with a yellow cup and so I walked in. The coffee is delicious - I love strong coffee but this is also incredibly smooth and rich. I've had hot drinks and cold drinks. Drinks with almond milk, regular milk and half and half. Everything has been fantastic. The service is wonderful - everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and kind. I haven't eaten anything but have smelled their freshly baked goods and they smell divine. The ambiance is lovely. There's a couch, tons of greenery, plenty of tables and chairs and it's a nice respite from the bustle and heat of midtown. Can't wait to return! read more
