I first visited this place a couple days ago and it's surprisingly nice once you get inside. It's clean and well decorated. Myself and my family were quickly acknowledged and seated. Came on a Sunday after lunch rush. Service was friendly and prompt. We got seated at the long bench. I like the openness and lighting of the interior. We started with edamame , miso and agedashi tofu. I had just the edamame, it was salted with good portion. For rolls I ordered Dragon roll, Salmon Lover , and what I believe was the yum yum crab (just asked what the next tabled ordered so...) Got several pieces of tuna and salmon nigiris. For skewer i got a few pork belly and the bacon one. Had some take out and the food came out right as we were getting ready to leave. Overall I would say great value. We have been here a few times since new ownership took over this location. Today was a surprise. To begin with, service was so slow! It took forever to get our food order and the waitress (who was new) barely came by. Like most sushi places, there is a time limit for AYCE, wich is understandable. But because the service was so slow, we had been there a while. While I was in the restroom with my toddler, my husband and other child were awkwardly asked to leave by our inexperienced waitress. This resulted in some very awkward and unpleasant circumstances and my husband and son should have been allowed to stay till we returned from the restroom. Embarrassment lead to my eldest autistic son eloping ( running away without being aware of the danger) as they left the restaurant. My husband was also struggling with the way they were asked to leave. It is clear to me that this was not handled well, because properly worded interactions would not have resulted in this situation. I had left my purse with my family while we were in the restroom and my son had an accident resulting in wet pants and I had to carry him out that way instead of being able to access spare clothes in my bag. He is young, but old enough tropical be embarrassed by this. I went back inside after to address this. Everyone seemed shocked and denied asking us to leave. Our waitress was very nervous and seemed embarrassed. I asked for the manager and was told to ask for her next time we come in. Moko Sushi offers all you can eat sushi and also menu sushi and Japanese cuisine. They also offer sake, fruit flavored sojus and also fresh soju (plain) beers and soft beverages. Inside they have bar seating, half booths, bench tables, and traditional seating. I also noticed a patio but I am not certain if or when it gets used. This restaurant is located in North Las Vegas very close to Aliante Casino. Your experience will differ depending on what you try and your tastes. We both enjoyed some things much more than other things here. To me I think what they did best were the sushi rolls. I actually thought BOTH rolls (sunrise & especially the spicy tataki rolls) we tried were better than from most similar restaurants Another thing that they deserve credit for is that the sushi and the rolls were made nicely and didn't fall apart like they do at many similar places. Most things were A-OK Maybe the least successful dish was the over cooked hamachi kama. It was so hot that it could cook eggs. For me the sushi was A-ok. Maybe the fish were all a little warmer and less hydrated than what I'm used to. The sushi also isn't seasoned under the fish. The Korean Chicken was very unusual to me. It was something different. Way back when we used to go here when it was Namba , tried the next iteration or was it two of them, and never when back. Drove the extra 10 minutes to Umami on Durango, after today, will probably continue that. Idk, but the vibe wasn't there.... Got there about 20 minutes after opening, no other patrons, eventually 3 other tables got filled. Music was loud , almost echoed in the big empty space. Jennifer was our server, she was quiet, professional and quick to take the orders on her tablet. Two sushi guys behind the long empty counter. Kinda looked looked like they were street clothes, no Japanese garb to add to the vibe. No head coverings either although one guy had a shaved head. The price for the regular lunch was $27.95, the all day was $33.95. I think that's pretty much standard at the middle of the road AYCE places. On to the food..... a lot of the items I would normally get were restricted to the all day menu, so I passed by default. The standard (to me) items like tuna, eel, hand rolls, gyoza etc were ok....just ok . The fish to rice ratio , small thin long narrow pieces of fish to small(tiny) lozenges of rice. I think that's a Vegas "thing". Or at least you don't fill up and or waste the rice. East coast or omakase places have a more traditional fish to rice ratio where the fish is a bit thicker and covers a larger piece of rice . The app's were ok, probably not hand made in the restaurant. The takoyaki was actually not very good just a mushy ball of batter with a tiny piece of octopus. The Korean fried chicken, three little tenders, soft not crunchy breading with what tasted like siracha sauce.... Not like any Korean fried chicken I had. Tea served in a cup with a tea bag, not in a teapot (at least that would be more authentic). Mochi for dessert, only green tea was available. Final thoughts.... Ok, better than most supermarket sushi, but not world class by any means, maybe a better vibe at dinner , but I think we'll stick with umami and some of our Chinatown haunts.... read more

Located at the former Namba Sushi restaurant, Moko Sushi definitely worth visiting. Sushi is fresh and all orders come out nicely presented. Service is fast but I love it when the waiter tells us to take our time. We definitely didn't feel rushed at all. The ambiance is nice and definitely not loud. Waiters are walking throughout the dining room and they present a friendly look which is always positive sign. I would definitely come hungry and try their AYCE option. We had 8 plates of full sushi rolls plus 2 Tempura Cheesecakes (portions are small) just to try it. If you do AYCE, it includes everything on both sides of the menu. Now my feedback...of course we had other servers bring our food and the way they brought it out felt unprofessional and strange. One made us a lil uncomfortable. It still looks like Namba yet some of the rolls that were our favorites were a bit different...My ending go to is the Crazy Boy and it was soggy...The other rolls were amazing but they were different tasting with the same Namba names. We had a variety of raw and cooked rolls...a variety of appetizers and deserts. We ate our fill!!! We overall had an amazing time! As much as I considered rating it lower...that waitress we had was phenomenal. It wasn't just her service...it was her personality...her being pleasant to be around. Really kind and genuine. I am writing to share feedback regarding our visit to your restaurant this past Saturday. We have been loyal regulars for years, visiting two to three times a week, and have always enjoyed the fresh food and great service. Unfortunately, our recent experience was very disappointing. We ordered the All-You-Can-Eat option and later requested two additional Screaming O Salads. After a 10-to-15-minute wait, our server, Tara, informed us that we could not order additional salads because there was a limit of one per customer. We pointed out that the menu listed the item as unlimited. Tara mentioned that she was new and that a cook instructed her not to serve them. When I politely asked who provided that rule so I could discuss it with them, Tara rudely told me to "just blame her" and refused to identify the staff member. She then began speaking negatively about us to one of the chefs at the bar. I approached the chef directly, and he was very polite. He explained that the owner plans to change the menu rules soon. While we completely understand future policy changes, we asked that the current menu offerings be honored during our visit, especially since we were paying the full dinner price during lunch. Although the chef resolved the issue and provided the salads, Tara's attitude shifted dramatically and made the rest of our meal extremely uncomfortable. It was disappointing to be talked about behind our backs when we were polite throughout the interaction. Because of how this situation was handled, my family and I no longer felt welcome and do not plan to return. This was our 4th visit since they reopened as Moko (formerly Namba), and they have been consistently excellent every single time. We always go with the all-you-can-eat option, and the selection is seriously impressive. There's a wide variety to choose from -- nigiri, specialty rolls, hot appetizers, cold dishes, and even dessert. It's easily one of the best AYCE menus in the area. The food quality is outstanding, and the seafood is always fresh. Standouts this time were the salmon belly, yellowtail belly, tuna, and fresh water eel -- all clean, fresh, and buttery. The surf clam and hamachi kama were flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Rattlesnake Roll and Banana Roll were well balanced and nicely prepared. Even the smaller dishes like cold tofu, cucumber salad, miso soup, and the beef bowl were great. We finished with mango mochi and green tea ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. Used to come here when it was the old sushi places and so we decided to try this place out. The restaurant stayed the same besides they took down the wall where there are tables that sit on a riser. Which makes it look more open and welcoming. They played kpop music videos which the kids enjoyed watching. The TVs at rhe bar played some shows didnt and there is opposite the bar that had UFC highlights. The service was kind but a little slow at bringing out things asked for. And they did not have trays for us to place our soy sauce in for dipping. The sushi overall is better than the other places that have been here. It was fresh and flavorful. The garlic edamame is always a hit and miss at all places we have been to but theirs was okay. Had a nice kick and lots of garlic which we like. The veggie tempura was crispy and tasted fresh and the dipping sauce was delicious. The only downfall is they do not offer half rolls or a kids AYCE option. Will we be back, probably. read more

I was actually part of the party involved in this experience, and I find the way this situation has been handled extremely concerning. My wife previously left a review detailing what happened, and there was no response or acknowledgement whatsoever to her review. However, I noticed that a review posted after hers received a response and acknowledgement. That raises a serious concern about how customer complaints are being handled and whether certain concerns are simply being ignored. As the parent of a child with autism, this situation is especially upsetting. Disabilities are not always visible. Just because someone doesn't "look disabled" does not mean they don't have a disability or require understanding and reasonable consideration. It is unethical and unprofessional to provide a service without taking into consideration the needs of someone with a disability, particularly when the disability may not be immediately apparent. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and, if necessary, the appropriate agencies regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to better understand what protections and options are available in a situation like this. This isn't about asking for special treatment. It's about equal treatment, respect, understanding, and accountability. My husband and I came in kinda late, and on a whim, we were just in the area. Our server was Algo, he was AWESOME!! Very knowledgeable of the menu and very polite. He had great conversational skills and made sure we didn't feel rushed. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and the decor was very nice. The quality of the nigiri was very good, as my husband is a very big nigiri person. I had the hot night and Aliante roll, and both were very yummy! For being close to closing time, we were very impressed with the service AND food. Hey all. Long time patron when it was Namba and Kaizan? And I believe there was a name before that, anyhow, been going to this location for some time. If you are wondering if you should go then I am here to tell you that you should. My gf and I had no complaints whatsoever. We showed up at 515pm on a Sunday expecting it to be busy and well, we were the only ones for about 10 mins. Then a few other patrons came in. When we left an hr later it was starting to fill up. Ok so the biggest changes: - Sushi: No more half rolls. Was worried at first but worked out and just ordered what we usually do and pardon the pun, rolled with it. We didn't find ourselves leaving any and not wanting anymore at the end. Perfectly satisfied on the sushi. - Apps: we got the usual shrimp tempura and jalapeno poppers and they were scrumptious. The poppers are a lot more light and enjoyable then before. The tempura, good as ever. We tried the BBQ teriyaki shrimp and it was good, served with a zucchini I believe grilled. Even though it was yes one shrimp of medium size , it was still appetizing, I would just order 3 or 4 orders if so because it is literally one shrimp. - Salads : ordered the usual crab and cucumber salad and it was fresh and delicious . So much so I ordered another later in the meal. It's served differently from previous establishment but no complaints here, I like the new way more. My lady also ordered another salad, this time the salmon skin salad with Ginger dressing. It looked good but was well, fishy, as it should since it was literally skin of a fish. All in all, salads were fresh and brought out fast. - Desserts : We split a cheesecake and ice cream. Both served with whip cream and a cherry. Cheesecake tempura was good but is half of the slice. Taste was exquisite just a smaller portion. Ice cream was fresh and worked well with the tempura cheesecake. - Water: Was served in a metal jug and was great. Perhaps ice could of helped but not needed. We will absolutely be back and look fwd to our next visit. The staff was attentive and polite. We come here because it's close and the sushi isn't bad. This time around th sushi was good but the service was horrid. We asked for lemon for our water and had to ask twice. Ordered a soda had to ask twice. Ordered Miso soup had to ask twice. Ordered the fried cheesecake and 20 mins later still no cheesecake, I finally gave up and got up to pay the bill and our waiter asked if we still wanted the cheesecake, I said I've been waiting 20 mins and gave up. He made up an excuse about a new chef and they had forgotten it, which is funny since when he brought the bill 20 mins earlier he said the cheesecake was on its way out. He could have at least come to the table and told me what happened but instead left me sitting and wondering and every excuse in the book came out of his mouth. When Moko took over we were pleasantly surprised. My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day really wanting to love this place, it's decorated so cute, and nobody wants to have a bad experience on Valentine's Day... but truthfully it was just okay. Please know this has nothing to do with our server, as she was wonderful. The three stars are for the food and the employees who were trying their best. Not sure why but we called ahead of time trying to make a reservation and they said they don't take reservations on Valentine's Day. Regardless, we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. We waited a good 10 minutes at a table before someone came over to take our order. Our first roll came out and they didn't give us plates or utensils to go with it (we had to ask). Things were moving so slowly that we got 2 rolls in an hour and a half. These guys seemed extremely understaffed, especially for Valentine's Day. Our poor server was running around everywhere stressed out. Usually when we come to these places they want you to get in and get out as fast as possible. Now for the actual food: As someone who has had her fair share of Philadelphia rolls these ones are pretty mid. The cucumber rolls felt dry to me whereas usually they are refreshing. The fresh lime on the ceviche HAS INCREDIBLE FLAVOR! Amaebi was wonderfully prepared SWEET not fishy at all and LOVE WHEN THEY SERVE IT WITH THE HEAD OF THE SHRIMP FRIED! I've been coming to this location for almost ten years. They've gone under new ownership but it's still good. I missed the drink menu and oysters from the previous ownership but they said they are working on their menu. The service was REALLY great besides the female food runner with an attitude who had her small chest really exposed . That was not tasteful. At this time, it was only myself and one other table. I was given a carafe of water and once I tried to pour myself a glass, it spilled all over the table as the lid was put on incorrectly. The server (manager) did not come over for about 5 min after I was seated and as I was about to get up after feeling ignored and leave, she walked over. I decided to stay and give it a fair try. The menu is limited as far as nigiri which is my favorite. Once I received my food, the presentation and fish were good but the rice was hard and tasted a bit old. The wasabi had zero kick to it and I ended up eating all of it with no reaction. The baked mussels were heavy on mayo, the salmon cheese stick had zero flavor and the tempura battered items tasted like they were fried in old oil. The corn cheese was also good but really, how can you mess that up? I gave feedback to my server and she did not care. About 10 min after leaving, my stomach started gurgling and I ended up sick. I called the restaurant to let them know and the manager had little care again but apologized and said she would let the owners know. I'm not sure the people leaving the good reviews actually ate there or are just friends/family but my experience was total opposite. Ok like everyone in America we all collectively enjoy AYCE sushi, they are all amazing in there own way but 95 percent of them are roughly the same and we still love them all. I heard good things about this new spot and had to try it and I feel it's better then most. The fish quality was not just good, it was like "how can they offer this quality at such an amazing price" good lol. I'm a sucker for salmon and the salmon nigiri here was the best I have ever had at any AYCE spot in my life, it was so good when our waiter asked what I wanted for dessert, I asked for two more orders of salmon please , the orange blossom roll was AMAZING! How can one sushi roll be this damn good, we ordered it three times lol. Staff was amazing and I'm not sure if this is true but I read somewhere the chef here worked at Nobu so that might have something to do with everything being absolutely amazing! Their crunchy salmon thing is great, their sashimi apps are delicious, but when you only get some of what you order it doesn't matter if the food is good or not. Servers are terrible, take orders don't bring food. Bussers are in hurry to take plates away, don't know why because orders are not coming out like they should. We gave them two opportunities, both left lacking. Owner needs to get rid of terrible servers, hire a floor manager to run the floor, and the owner needs to run the chefs. Everything was very good, the wait staff was nice and attentive, I believe the owner (I assume he was the owner) came around to check on us as well. Not a lot inside changed with the aspect of decor or ambiance but overall I would go back. Good prices, I don't think they have their liquor license yet or a soda machine. If I could give Moko Sushi zero stars, I would. My wife, two daughters, and I visited Moko Sushi for dinner and placed our order shortly after being seated. After waiting approximately 40 minutes, the only items we received were one sushi roll, edamame, and gyoza. None of the other food we ordered ever arrived. To make matters worse, the sushi we did receive was warm, which is unacceptable for raw fish. During the 40-minute wait, I politely addressed the issue with our server multiple times, but nothing was done to resolve it. Meanwhile, we watched several tables that arrived after us receive their food without issue. After receiving no resolution, I told the server to cancel the remainder of our order. Surprisingly, I was then presented with a bill for $76 despite not receiving the vast majority of the food we ordered. I refused to pay it, and management ultimately did the right thing by removing the charges and comping the small amount of food we actually received. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Moko Sushi to anyone.
