We absolutely love Dojo Sushi! It is a super tiny hidden gem in an Alberston's strip mall on Buffalo (as so much of the best food in Vegas seems to be... tucked away in some unassuming strip mall!). The place is a very small ma-and-pa joint, always the same few people running the show. They're very friendly and you can tell are very proud of their craft, and they should be! Every time we go we get really beautiful, delicious, fresh tuna, salmon, and more. The Dojo Boat is a great deal and can feed an army. I also want to say that in this day and age where it seems like everything costs an arm and a leg, they are really reasonably priced. We were craving sushi but didn't want an all-you-can-eat experience, so we decided to eat at Dojo Sushi. It has been over a year since we came here and we're so glad we decided this was our destination for dinner this evening. When we arrived, the dining room was empty, which honestly made it feel like the place was reserved just for us. We ordered the sushi boat, where you get to choose three specialty rolls from sections B and C. It also comes with 12 pieces of sashimi, 10 pieces of sushi, and a seaweed salad. We chose the Monster Roll, Ninja Roll, and Spider-Man Roll. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The salmon was buttery and literally melted in your mouth, and all the flavors were perfectly balanced. They also had a special where, for just $1 more when you order a boat, you get a beer...my husband happily took advantage of that and enjoyed a refreshing cold one. From start to finish, everything was perfect! Excellent customer service, a clean and welcoming space, tables neatly set with plates and napkins, and a calming, relaxing atmosphere. Found a new favorite sushi place in Summerlin! It's conveniently located near AMC Rainbow, so it's perfect for a meal before or after a movie. The people working there are really nice. The shop itself is on the smaller side, and I like how the mirror walls in the store allow you to watch TV even if you're not directly facing it. We will definitely be back to this place! Parking was easy to find. The bathrooms were very clean and the restaurant itself was very clean. It was quick to get a seat so we didn't have to wait very long and we had five people. We went at 12 o'clock and they had opened at 11:30. And they were all very kind and helpful. The food itself was really good too for the price especially. We did the lunch Bento that were about $13 for the chicken and $14 for the pork Katsu and $16 for the salmon teriyaki. It came with miso soup and a salad and rice and rolls and Gyoza or you can substitute it for a vegetable spring roll if you don't eat pork. We also got a plain udon which is about 11 or $12. So the prices were pretty normal to what you would see other sushi places. But my dad said the pork cut really good and my salmon teriyaki also tasted good. The portions were really big for the bento, so really filled up. My kids shared it and they didn't even finish it! BEWARE: THIS PLACE DOES NOT LIKE CHILDREN. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. (This encounter was with owner and waitress Haiyan, the person with poor customer service and who dislikes kids) I came with 4 adults (including myself) and 2 kids under 3. I arrived first and ordered the kids food ahead of time so they could eat when they arrived. 1st- the children have food allergies and I wanted to verify something with the waitress but she was no where to be found. I asked the sushi maker and he looked at me and said "I don't know"... he did not redirect the question to the waitress or offer to go clarify. I left that alone... 2nd- I had previously expressed we'd have 2 kids joining us but at no point did she come lay out utensils or offer high chairs, only menus. When the rest of the party arrived, we had to pull up high chairs ourselves and ask for utensils for the table. 3rd- Once food was brought out, we were doing some dishes as sharing plates and needed more forks. When we asked for additional forks the waitress snapped and said "I keep bringing forks" and verbally counted how many were on the table... like I mentioned before, the kids have certain food allergies so we especially cannot serve some dishes with the same utensils!!! We weren't just asking for forks to add to their dish load. 4th- when the bill came, we paid with card and tipped in CASH. The cash was left on the table. We left and the waitress ran out the shop and asked why we did not tip. We were very confused by this point given that we did tip. I asked what the issue was and she said she didn't check the table and thought we didn't like her service. I let her know that it was distasteful to run after us like we didn't tip before having had checked. She then proceeded to say that it wasn't close to enough after having to deal with kids who "screamed the whole time". I was at a loss for words. I asked if they don't allow kids and she said yes but they would not stop yelling during the meal... I respectfully advised her we will not be coming back and that is when the rest of their staff decided to come out and rudely say to never come back. These were kids who were excited to eat sushi and were behaving like kids that are 2-3. They were not running around causing havoc. Kids are allowed to exist in public spaces. It was very clear that she had no patience for kids throughout all of the interactions. If you read other reviews, you can see that they don't have good customer service. I hope no one spends their money or wastes their time eating here with their family when this place does not like children! read more

I can't even begin to explain how great this place was. Came here on a whim last minute because we really wanted sushi. The quality is incredible. Super fresh, large pieces and the best part is the value of what you get for your money. It's a tiny little spot with a super cute feel. Our server, Kat was great. Wanted to love this place bc it's fairly close to home and they serve humongous bento boxes. I came here specifically for a bento. The pros are: The bentos are reasonably priced... I even got the dinner one even though I was there during the lunch special pricing. The one female server on duty was very friendly, courteous and knew the menu. The food came out hot and fresh, but involved a wait. My bento came out about 10+ min before my husband's rolls. The decor is cute. The tempura and miso were perfect. My husband's rolls were pretty good. Cons are: It's tiny inside. I believe there are about 7 tables that can fit 4 people somewhat comfortably. When someone comes in, it ruins the vibe for anyone who is sitting close to the door. The place is cozy, so when the door is opened, the sun is kinda blinding. The sushi rice wasn't seasoned- so the cali rolls that came with my bento were the most bland cali rolls I've had in life. I never throw cali rolls away, but I ended up tossing these. The tempura dipping sauce was sweet and strong- never had anything like it- not good. My main dish was their Teri chicken and the serving was huge, but looked and tasted boiled with a generic thick teriyaki sauce flooding it. I ended up throwing the rest of that away too. The rolls ordered again had unseasoned rice but had several sauces that came on it so it was fine. I'd probably come back here for sushi rolls and I'd def never order a Teri chicken anything ever again. First, I love the mom and pop shop feel of Dojo. I love supporting smaller businesses and this is the first sushi one I've found in Vegas. Most sushi spots I've been to here have been big all you can eats. The atmosphere feels like the small shops I loved supporting back home. It was clean, neat, put together, and quiet. No loud noises, designs or grandiose seating to attract a crowd. The food speaks for itself here. We got a free miso soup and salad which caught my friend off guard as we weren't aware of this service. Again, very reminiscent of my favorite sushi spot back home. The soup was warm and salad was fresh and tangy. Our orders came out shortly after. In Lunch A, you order the roll - I got spicy tuna. The nigiri is a fixed set with the best picks. I actually liked those more than my sushi roll. I'm always cautious of new sushi spots as freshness is compromised being in a desert, but Dojo proved me wrong. The sushi here really is delicious. The service was good. The waitress was soft spoken and patient with us when we said we needed a minute. She kept an eye out while we browsed the menu and was quick to come on back when she saw us close them and began to move our heads in her direction. We didn't even need to make eye contact for her to know we were ready. Everything came out quickly, our waters were filled, and the bill followed after. Worst service in my life it pains me that it's a mom and pop too because from the reviews I was excited! Came in on a Wednesday night with my family of 4 (2 were kids) upon coming in there was already a 2 top waiting for their food l. So all together 6 people if you count my kids but they were being waited on by us. The server took our order and the food came. She did not once check on us after our food arrived if it was ok, she did not once offer to refill the water we had-mind you we has 2 children she did not offer to give us utensils or even kid friendly chopsticks or extra sharing plates. I wanted to keep one menu to look over in case I had a extra craving but she said for me to ask her for the menu back I'd understand if it was busy and they needed the menu but it was only us.... So then we ask for the bill. And this was the weirdest part. We go give her our card mind you there still the same amount of people she returns the card to me at the opposite end of the table.
