Holy wow! What a spread. It's hot and I don't feel like cooking tonight. Our default takeout meal is Sushi 88. I ordered from GrubHub and LaToya was prompt and friendly. Everything arrived exactly as I expected, but this Bento box was mammoth! I love Sushi 88 because my husband can get all of the goodies on a pupu platter and I can get- well, normally sushi. Today I'm sick with a head cold, so I'm wanting rice and miso soup. Of course I had to have my Agadashi tofu- even if I can't taste it very well. You know what shined through with the vibrance of 1,000 suns? The miso soup! This is how I ended up with the Bento box. It comes with fried shrimp, white rice, miso soup and I got the beef teriyaki. It was a hit. I got all this for basically the same price I would pay for our usual order except this time I didn't order extra steak skewers, or sushi, or fried shrimp. Total deal. My husband fully endorsed me ordering the Bento box again. It also came with some krab sushi, battered veggies and shrimp, and a salad. There was a serious pile of steak. They give you a bunch of containers if teriyaki sauce in the side. I think going forward this will be our new order on repeat. Last week I rated Sushi 88 4 stars. That spread is worth 5 stars today. Ever go to an AYCE place and dread having to order more food to get your money's worth? If not, here's your chance! Mediocre fish, lots of rice on rolls, overcooked shumai that's cold on the inside... And they charge for anything you don't eat. $33 for AYCE at dinner. Not worth it. The hibachi tables have been turned into regular tables with fake flowers covering the grills. Hostess had "whatever" attitude and watching YouTube on a laptop. Do yourself a favor - don't go here. We went excited to try a new place, and left disappointed and still a little hungry. The staff was friendly enough, but the entire place was very low energy, and the food was a bummer. We got AYCE and did not order our moneys worth because we didn't care for what we got. The rolls were very large pieces - tall and thick cut- which made it hard to eat and enjoy, on top of mediocre flavors. Ordered the crispy rice which is a favorite at most restaurants and couldnt even finish one piece. The rice was crispy but also overly chewy and bland, and the spicy tuna was just ok. We are not usually super picky so we were surprised to be so disappointed in our food. Even the rice was just ok. I would not recommend this restaurant, though other patrons seemed pleased. read more

My order was through Uber with a delivery to my home. I was really looking to have some good sushi from a restaurant because the last time I had some was from Smith's Foods. I order a Spicey Tuna Roll and a Salmon Roll. Both of these were worse than the Smith Food's sushi I had. Neither had any taste at all, the rolls fell apart and they were mushi. They were small rolls enough to fit in one box and the only thing I tasted was the soy sauce and the wasabi and thank God I requested ginger, which at least gave me a distant ilusion that I was having sushi. I do not recommend this place at all and would rather eat sushi from the market than here. It was delivered by Uber, so there was not anything bad to say about the delivery and I did not experience the restaurant inside, so I can't tell you about that but you can make better sushi at home. read more

Two kids in our group ordered all-you-can-eat, while the rest of us wanted just a few menu items. The waiter kept repeating the 'no sharing' rule and watched our table like a hawk, which made us uncomfortable -- we weren't sharing, so it felt unnecessary and a bit hostile. Used to order weekly. Food was very good, always consistent quality. However last night we ordered the Rainbow Roll and other items. The roll reeked of bad fish. Tried one bite and it was SO spoiled that I had to spit it out and repeatedly wash my mouth out. Tried to reach the manager but they would not answer their phone. Left a VM. No return call. Called today to discuss and told the manager was out running errands. Was told they were "busy last night." OK but for years the food has been excellent and fresh. I asked for the woman on the phone to have the manager please call me and she hung up on me. Incredibly rude. Must have new and horrible management. We came in Sunday night shortly before closing, we felt bad because the hours posted for the business online were outdated and they actually closed at 10pm instead of 10:30. However, the staff was still able to seat us. I loved the option of doing their ala carte deal instead of all you can eat. Their nigiri pieces were huge and the rolls were so yummy and filling! Ordered a ton of sushi rolls to try a little bit of everything. Delivery took about 45 minutes- 1 hour The banzai roll was very spicy with the chili roll and fresh jalapeños. Pizza roll was ok but fell apart and we had to scoop most of it. 911 roll was good with subtle spice. 702 roll was our least favorite and very dry which I've never experienced with sushi. Finally got to try this place in person and they do not disappoint. It is so cute inside and they have a great selection of sushi. The employees were all really nice and friendly and I loved how clean the restaurant was. The food was great and everything was super fresh. I have ordered from here a few times on DoorDash and it was great being delivered so I was excited to try this place in person.They did not disappoint at all and everything was so good. i ordered delivery through doordash bc i was craving sushi and teriyaki chicken. up until today, i'd opted to try any other sushi place that seemed more popular. now im regretting that i waited this long to give sushi 88 a chance. i got the chicken teriyaki bento, the salmon deluxe roll, and 6 pieces of salmon nigiri. the affordability misled me to believe that the quality would be subpar. firstly, the speed of service was impressive. my order was promptly prepared and my delivery driver took it to me quickly enough to ensure my hot food arrived warm and that my sushi wasn't. upon arrival, i was immediately taken aback by the huge portions and clean presentation of my order. i paid a little less than $50 and wasn't expecting to get so much food with my order. now, i have to talk about the teriyaki chicken. i always order teriyaki chicken at sushi restaurants bc i love a good teriyaki chicken. but 9 times out of 10, im disappointed. it's either too dry, missing flavorful char from a grill, or the teriyaki sauce flavor and/or consistency isn't right. today was the 1 out of 10 times that i was both impressed by and happy with the teriyaki chicken i got. it checked every one of the boxes i look for in a good teriyaki chicken, and i can't recommend it enough. the entire bento box is a perfect and incredibly satisfying meal. the nigiri tasted fresh and the portions are so big, especially for the price point. and the salmon deluxe roll was simple and delicious. i'm not easy to impress, and so i'm elated when i'm pleasantly surprised. what a hidden gem. compliments to the sushi 88 staff! thanks for a fantastic takeout meal! read more

There was no wait on a Sunday as we sat at the sushi bar otherwise a 15-20 min waite which is stoll not bad for 5.30pm. The menu has ample to choose from. All the appetizers were wonderful. The sushi rice was perfect. The oysters were incredible. The lighting is a bit odd with several different light fixtures. I did not get my green tea which I was not charged for that I ordered but my boyfriend got his coke. The lady next to us ordered a bento box and I look forward to trying to lunch it had sashimi in it. She has tried all of them from what she told us. It is odd to sit at the sushi bar and have to waite for a waiter to bring me the sushi rather than the chef handing it to us instead this would save them time in between orders. A small issue was there is a 3% merchant fee which is not posted anywhere visable in their resteraunt. Next time ill bring cash. read more

Now the food, nigiri sushi had a nice cut of fish ....but the rice for sushi was horrible, tough and heavy, not fluffy and light like it should be. Every time I bit into it was a horrible experience. Sushi was okay but not worth eating after having to interacting with the strange and off putting middle aged female server. Who quite frankly needs to be let go. Maybe some younger servers should be hired for a chill vibe. Both times I was here the server had an ugly behavior and seemed to dislike attending to women.
